Coventry V Belle Vue 22/07/2016
Steve Shovlar replied to Woz01's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I don't think there's any doubt, though I would love to be proved wrong. Will we then get page upon page demanding Rosco's head like the wolf pack went after Middlo? -
Kennett is showing far better form than Cook but I guess Cook has done many more laps around this track. Lets just hope its not humiliating and hope we don't finish well adrift in 4th. I will be there cheering on GB regardless of the result. Thought the idea was to pick the best, and Ellis is head and shoulders better than Bates. One could also make the argument that S Worrall could have been picked above Cook, who has been pretty poor this year.

Missed Garrity? What has he done other than cause the Coventry team to be completely unbalanced? -
Coventry V Belle Vue 22/07/2016

Unbelievable. Havelock gave four rides to Bates AND Sargeant. Woryna should have had two more rides. Bet all those Belle Vue fans are laughing all the way home. Lol. Havvy should be sacked for complete ineptitude. -
But how can you say there was a shortfall in the team build and blame Woryna? Whi not say they had 2.5 more points to play with so why sign Garrity when they could have signed a much higher rider? Anyway I believe the point I made earlier today about Woryna was totally correct as he is banging in a big score.

Absolutely they are and I have no problem with anyones view that's different to mine. But there's no need for abusive posts. I read some of the crap on the woofy thread and it was a bad case of bullying and in the end Gavan was rightly suspended. Certainly Robert72 doesn't know how to leave it but attacking posters in such a way is unacceptable.

Really no need for language like this.

The sec is a meaningless set of meetings set up to de-stable the GP series. It is meaningless as the very top riders do not participate. Good for TV but unimportant. You and others on here seem to think I don't think Sufadinov is very good. But I have already said if he was back in the GP series he could finish top eight, which means he is very good indeed. If he had remained in the GP series and learnt I would say he could have been challenging, but sorry not now. Time has moved on and he has wasted his career winning meaningless sec events as Woffinden and Hancock have cleaned up where it matters. Just my opinion and not everyones I know. Guess we will find out in the next few years if Emil makes an effort to do the qualifiers.

I see this disgusting obnoxious troll has been allowed back to play after serving a ban for a foul and abusive bullying attack on another forum member. He should have been banned permanently for such disgraceful abuse. Put money on it Woryna has a bigger career of the two. Just seems to have far more track craft. You forget its his first year and he hasn't seen these tracks before. Bates knows all the tracks. He has ridden Poole on numerous occassions. If he gates he can be quick. A bit like Daniel Davidsson. But clueless from the back. Agree with that. Garrity is the reason why Coventry gave failed so miserably. He bullied Horton into giving him a top five berth. Madness. you answered your own question. Woryna us doing well in Poland as he knows the tracks. The same as Bates here. Take Bates out to Poland and listen to the Poles screaming about this "useless Brit". Its exactly the same. Woryna doesn't know the tracks yet. He was giving his all chasing the Poole riders attempting some Kamakazi dives to no avail, while Bates and Barker were tailed off poodling.
-
Well if the riders know, then so should we. Come on Rosco lets know the team.
-
It certainly didn't show on Wednesday. Bates and Barker were drueadful. Bates didn't seem injured just up against better riders. Barker only scored because of KK Continually blocking Ellis's runs around them. Woryna is not the problem. He has big potential ad proved on the continent. Would be happy to see him head south in 2017 if he is dumped by Coventry. Good rider in the making.
-
So have this squad of ten spent the last two weeks up in Manchester practicing on the NSS track? Thats what the Poles would have done on their own track to make sure they are dialled in. Havent heard any of the Belle Vue fans on here mentioning the roar of bikes on any afternoon. Whats going on here?

Oh I get it. You are a big Emil fan and my comments on him have hurt your feelings, so you diss me by calling me a speedway no nothing. Its now become clear. I hate to tell you this but my knowledge of the sport is quite deep and wide reaching, having followed it since 73. I am no Rob Peasley with different coloured pens filling in my program( sorry Rob!) but my memory is very good for the many hundreds of meetings I have attended. It seems I have hit a nerve with you because I don't think Emil is going to be World Champion. Now I know by saying that the odds are stacked in my favour, but the truth is younger, and perhaps better riders are now coming through. And if Ward was still with us racing Emil would not have got a sniff. Thats just my opinion. I believe the boat has sailed on his chances. He would have to qualify which would not be easy, meaning the earliest he would be in it would be 2018. Don't get me wrong I do think he is an good rider and would finish top 8. But never World Champion.

If you think Bates should be picked over Ellis you have a lack of Speedway knowledge. Harsh but true. Without wearing any Poole blinkers Ellis is a far superior rider who likes big tracks and can pass. Poole have yet to visit Belle Vue due to the BV management scared of re-arranging the A fixture for fear of being turned over, so Ellis has not yet had a chance to ride the track, but you can be sure he will take to the wide open spaces and I am sure he will get the nod over Bates, who has done ok this season and should be allowed in the pits to watch and learn. Ellis at the moment is a much more complete rider. Not that it will matter much anyway, because he won't get a ride bar an injury. I will be there cheering England on (this teamgb thing is so 1990 and theres no scots or welsh in it anyway) but I think the closest we will get to the rostrum is watching the awards from the pits. I hope I am wrong but we stand no chance. The BV riders have been crap around their track bar S Worrall. Harris seems to ride a first bend to get out of the way. Nicholls is too old, Cook is nowhere near good enough and neither is King. Their time has gone. Only Woffinden and young Lambert deserve their places. And I would be brave if I was Rosco as the Danish manager was a few years ago. Use the kids. The old guard are not going to do anything for England, so why not blood youngsters? They could well come in 50 metres behind, but what experience in front of a partisan crowd? And really they couldn't do a lot worse than our so called best of Brits. Woffinden Lambert S Worrall A Ellis Res. Bates Of course Rosco wouldn't be that brave but he has nothing to lose. We are not going to win anyway. Woffinden King Harris Cook. Res. Ellis I would enjoy going with the younger team myself.

I personally think my speedway knowledge is pretty good. I have been going long enough. I watch all leagues in Poland and Sweden as well as domestic and have a very good idea who is coming through in the sport. So if I have a different opinion I lack knowledge? My personal opinion is Sufudinov, after a brilliant start to his career, has levelled off. He is a very good rider but World Champion? Not for me anymore. Better riders out there. He career is passing him by through bereavement, injury and extremely dodgy (ridiculous) career decisions. Of course there will always be people like yourself, with a lack of international speedway knowledge, that think he is better than he really is today. Still, if you don't follow the sport in Poland and Sweden, your limited speedway knowledge will show up on such matters. Harsh but true old bean.

You really don't read my posts through do you. I picked you up on this last week on another thread. Where on earth have I said Andersen is better? I said Andersen beat him last Saturday after riding totally crap at Brandon. How should that happen if Emil is that good? He should have picked Andersen off for fun. He didn't even make the semis. I know I am in the minority with my opinion of Emil but I just don't rate him that highly. There are better riders out there now, Imo and I don't believe he will mount a serious World title challenge in his career. Dudek is a better rider than Saifudinof imo.
-
I believe he is over hyped. A very good rider, absolutely. Same as Vaculik is. But his progression was stopped due to injury and then he followed it up by pulling out of the GP series and attempting to win the SEC, a meaningless event in comparison, instead. Even Hans Andersen beat him on Saturday, 24 hours after his abysmal performance at Brandon. I personally don't think he has what it takes to win the WC.
-
Harsh and slightly unfair comments on Woryna. He was trying hard in every heat he was in. Far worse riders in the Coventry team like Roynon, Barker and Bates. If these three put in half the effort of Woryna the score would have been closer. Whoever the 4 are, they will finish adrift at the bottom in the final. And to think there's no room for riders like KK, Pepe and others in the Polish team! However, we go have some youngsters who in years to come can make TeamGB look a lot better. The way Ellis beat Harris and King last night showed real grit and determination

So the foul mouthed troll returns after a deserved ban and seems ready to face further time out already by attacking the poster again. This guy will never learn. Its been really quite pleasant on here without your abusive trolling posts but it seems you want to carry on where you left off. You are a troll who doesn't understand that other people have different opinions to yourself. A troll of the worst kind. At 26 he should be in the pinnacle of his career but he is nowhere now. A good rider for his Polish club but as a challenger for the World title, the boat has set sail without him IMO. He has to qualify which won't be easy, so if he succeeded at the first attempt he wouldn't be back until 2018. With so many good young riders now coming through I don't think he can fulfil his early potential.

Just phoned belle vue and booked my car park tickets at the school opposite. For a tenner I would prefer to park by the stadium than Etihad park and ride. Asked if many tickets are left and told there are now premium grandstand seats just been released and available. Seems strange to only now release them.
-
After what we saw at Poole last night, bring your white flag with you for the final. God help us with King and Harris. Never going to get near third place. One thing is clear is Ellis must be nailed on for reserve, not that it will make any difference.

King's Lynn V Swindon 20th July 7.30pm
Steve Shovlar replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This is not the first time this has happened at Kings Lynn. Poole were there several years ago when havvy was riding for us. There was a rain shower at 5 pm in Lynn. Nothing too bad. Got to the stadium and then watched Buster in his tractor for 2 hours making clumps of dirt the size of footballs before it was called off.
