Poole Pirates Vs Leicester Lions 18/5/16
Steve Shovlar replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Weather is looking decidedly dodgy for Wednesday with rain in the area most of the day. Pain as the only wet day this week. Mind you plenty of spare Wednesdays free in June. -
Your post falls at the first hurdle. Chris Holder is clear at the top of the GP standings currently and rides all three main leagues.

Poland find themselves in a flux. They have lost Gollob but havent got his replacement. Hampel is a boring ride with little in the way of petsonality on or off a bike. Never be world champion. Of the new up and comers, Zmarslik, Dudek look good but not at the level needed with any consistency. Janowski is very good but will he be a world beater? Not so sure but time will tell. Lots of good riders on fast bikes, but not sure one will leap up to the next level of Gollobs class.

For those that missed it last night, it is being repeated in full right now on Canal+ Sport. In Polish not that it matters.

Just spoke to a friend who was there tonight. The Poles were leaving and shaking their heads. He overheard quite a few saying the same thing. Why are Poles never good enough when it matters? A few were even burning their Polish scarves and said they were ashamed to be Poles. He overheard one saying he wanted to come to England because they produce more world champions than Poland.

Why on earth didnt you Google cast it to your TV? I played it through my iPhone through Googlecast and crystal clear Hd on my Tv. Far better than a pc monitor. £30 from pc world. Thought the meeting got better and better. Briliant in the end though I was hoping Noddy would make the rostrum. Tai "for sure" Woffinden battled for the win. Thought the Poles let themselves down to be honest. One of them should have made the final. Whilst they have the biggest support they still seem to struggle to replace Gollob. Great crowd though not full. Biggest crowd though in the recent history of the sport. Good nights entertainment. And I bet it doesnt even get a mention on the bbc, even though a Brit won it.

Belle Vue V Swindon 11 May, 2016.
Steve Shovlar replied to Aces51's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I am hearing the delays to building the new Swindon Stadium is because a "save The Backstraight Bogs" petition has been put to the council and English Heritage to make it a grade one listed building. The petition states that the smell is unreplaceable and that the green mould growing naturally in the urinals cannot be found anywhere else in the UK and needs to be protected just as rare orchids are. The British Flora and Fauna Society say the mould is only to be found here and have named it Blunsdonius Pisstarium. The legislation the group are trying to put into place will mean a delay or possible cancellation of the new stadium. When asked for a quite, team manager Alun Rossiter told the reporter to bog off. -
New Averages (team Line Up Changes Updates)
Steve Shovlar replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It is ludicrous but it seems to make little odds as we still havent won away! Should keep both reserves at reserve BUT not so protected. Or, to second string only. The system in place means reserves get massive averages. Perhaps an average of -50% for reserves could be incorporated? Just a thought. -

Thought it was a decent meeting with a few good heats. The track got terribly dusty towards the end with it billowing up over the clubhouse area. Heat 13 and I couldnt understand why Lawson was angry. Seemed a fair move to me. Heat 15 was excellent from Starke. Thought it was a nailed on 1-5 but he had other ideas and blitzed the two tigers. Great race. Have to say Wilson Dean was good as was Allen. Glasgow had no backup to their heat leaders and Barker was woeful. The reserves after heat two also were not at the races. Good crowd, met Paulco, and as usual great chips! -
What size of crowd is expected for this gp? Big stadium!

Swedish Elitserien 2016 Round 2
Steve Shovlar replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
OK for those with Kodi, CMore sport who show Swedish League, is available through the now working again MoneySports app. Picture is decent standard definition but far better than the streams online. Also on the Moneysports app are the Polish sports channels, so if telewigiwatever goes down this is a great back up. -

Doesn't make any odds. Swindon havent even had the luxury of practice on it. Looks like the BV team are not as strong as many have predicted. They should have won simply by being the better team. I said it a coulle of weeks ago that Swindon could be a serious team this year and so it seems to be. Well done to them. -

Huge blunder on the rules to make reserves into heat leaders. They should move up to second strings only. Pretty sure that will be dealt with thisin the close season. Too late now for 2016.
