  1. For what it's worth before we know team building rules I think we will retain Ricky (steal on that average IMO), have a reserve pairing of Mason and Joe or Simon, possibly get Josh back depending on his other commitments. I think Rene won't be riding for us or possibly anyone in the UK and just concentrating on Denmark, Poland and Sweden if he can get it. I think Kyle needs a season away from Workington and I think Ashley would be part of any move by Cradley to move up to the Premier League. New riders I'd like to see are Jorgensen (done great when guesting for us) Bellego (flies around DP) and maybe even Roynon back on that low average. Final thought at the moment would be that I and probably many others would love Cookie back in the big C, probably won't happen but we can hope .
  2. Well its pouring down in Workington so it was the correct decision
  3. Terrible performance from the team last night, again under performing at home - we are better away! Why is this? Pressure? The track? I'm sure the team are asking themselves the same. Big week coming up to catch up with some meetings, will be tough though, away to Redcar (hope for at least a point) away to Edinburgh (hope to score over 30 ) and home to Somerset (very tough, can see us losing this). George - There was a burger van in its usual place serving refreshments so not sure what you mean there, the interval after heat 10 was to allow turns 1&2 through the pits to get refreshments. I also saw stewards escorting people around the pits and back in again when I was getting my burger in the grandstand
  4. Who would you put in? I've seen Rosen suggested on the other forum but he couldn't average 7 for Newcastle. Any other foreign rider would require accommodation and a vehicle probably as well as travel expenses, I can't think of any British rider that would fit. Ricky has a casual, laid back style, like his personality which can make it look like he doesn't care but he does. He fits in well with the rest of the team and performs really well away from home which is what we were lacking last year with Rich and Rusty on occasions. Agree with you on Barker though, he made it an entertaining meeting and enjoyed his interview
  5. Comets have changed their riding order for Saturdays match against the Devils Lewis Rose will guest for Ashley and it remains to be seen if Kyle is fit to take his place. For Plymouth it looks like R/R for the luckless Roynon New line-up - Josh, Kyle, Rene, Mason, Ricky, Guest for Ashley, Simon
  6. They did one on us last year in the league at Derwent Park. If Josh and Rene are firing they will get 12 rides, I think that will see us through, if they don't then we are in trouble
  7. Team now of - Grajczonek, Campton, R/R for Wells, Jorgensen, Bach, Poole and Lambert. Definitely a Comets select! Hopefully good enough to do the business, if Josh is fit enough to do 6 rides I think we will win by 8
  8. The St John's ambulance (which is privately hired) was still at Whitehaven A&E at 9:30pm, it's on my way home so I checked, so would never had made it back to the track in time for the 10pm curfew. Now imagine the promotion made the decision to 'wait and see' if the ambulance got back in time and had to call it off over an hour later (approx 100 mins waiting time) there would have been a riot!!! The correct decision was made. As for having 2 ambulances - well that's fair enough in big cities such as Newcastle and Plymouth where there is competition for business from many providers etc. In West Cumbria you can count the providers on one hand, ones that cater for motorsport, probably less. Getting another crew in just doesn't make economic sense, in an ideal world every track would have two ambulances and crowds of 2000! Best wishes to Kyle and bring on the rematch
  9. With Josh and Ashley out of action Rich Lawson and Taylor Poole will guest in their place. Tough meeting just got tougher, think it will be a few points in it either way, probably Edinburgh to shade it
  10. Those points coupled with landlords permissions and council permission regarding planning application and medical cover - it really isn't a straightforward process I would imagine to simply swap
  11. Pretty good looking side that now, hope it boosts the crowds to ease the pressure
  12. Both are too high and of course Simon is racing for Sheffield anyway. Stefan is without a Premier League team but had a 4.70 average when dropped by Somerset last year
  13. I think we would have got something from this if Rene had been fit but as it stands we will do very well to get a point, if Josh keeps flying and Ashley continues his better form who knows though Robbo was a great guest for us last night and will be the main threat today without doubt, I think Lindgren will go well as well with not being at number 1 now Josh won't get an extra ride as Rene is third in the averages for May
  14. He flipped it on the start of his first heat, knocked the wind out of him and looked like a sore back I think. Won his last two races with great passes though so can't be too bad Really good win tonight, remains to be seen if 14 points is enough, thought everyone played a part but Josh was fantastic, a real number 1
  15. My two penneth from last night - excellent meeting, hope it would have been closer but not to be, track was great, so many different lines to ride. Did Kerr try both his bikes? If not he needs his a**e kicked. I agree with Tsunami that Lindgren beat Fisher to the line. I also thought that the riding by Lindgren to keep Bjerre at bay in heat 11 was fantastic. I think George's reasoning to giving Rosen the tactical ride was that he was off gate 1 which I think had 5 wins at the time. It was hard to predict the Henry would fly out of gate 4 in the next heat. How Rosen walked away from that crash I will never know, it looked terrifying to see the bike smash into him. Lastly for Peterborough I thought they all performed consistently well without any of them being outstanding, good all around team performance. Good to see Greenwood perform better than he did at weekend though
  16. The July one will be because Ricky is riding in the World Cup
  17. Not sure why, must be that there is an international fixture clash like Rene in the Danish championships or something, I can't see any British fixtures that would cause it to be moved
  18. Big well done to Ashley last night, he looked really quick. All the lads made important contributions to a really good team win. Although Rene struggled out of the gate his pass on Lawson was pure class and stopped any potential Panthers comeback, top night
  19. Sunny at the moment here but clouds all around Kyle and Ricky are key tonight, they haven't fired as yet as a pair and that continues we will struggle tonight, if they click I can see a 10 point win
  20. West coast of Cumbria, you could enjoy a lovely drive through the Lake District to get there.
  21. Workington own him! Bought him in the winter. I do think he will go better around Peterborough though than Ipswich
  22. I think you are right to a certain degree although I think Rene and Mason have done well too, but certainly Josh has been the stand out rider so far. The other 3 need to get themselves sorted quickly, I don't think the supporters will give the management as much time as last year if things aren't going well
  23. I think the Bandits will win by 10, we have too many who haven't started the season well (Howarth, Morris and Mills) which is too many to carry in one team. Changes will have to happen if it continues into the start of the league campaign
  24. I'll go 52-40 to the Comets with yet another Cookie max
