Swindon Robin's V Coventry Bees 31st March
ColinMills replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
adam ellis started extremely well...kk spot was temporary replacement tonight, think king as 3rd heat leader is the bigger problem -
agree bout the medals, shame they couldn't go to a speedway museum
-
i personally think woffy imo loves riding for GB. i think he adores Australia, which is fine, i love new york, but on this part of the discussion, i have no gripes with his nationality......just gutted bout todays decision!
-
agree with every word of that..BUT theres some dodgy comments coming out today from the woffy family on "two" twitter accounts that's showing a piece of arrogance imo. the earlier comment of "done more in 3 yrs than anyone will in the next 10"..(that's an incentive for young rob lambet if I ever seen one..PLUS "hes done more for british speedway than anybody in the last 15 yrs".. Cant deny hes successful, but is speedway here in a better state than 15 yrs ago? really? lowest crowd levels in my lifetime (I'm 48), to my knowledge he has nothing to do with the national stadium, if he walked down any road in the uk who would recognise him? lets not go overboard here..i have always praised him when I believed he deserved it, but I simply cant believe 1 day of devotion to the UK is much to ask for. Agree with BW and others about a lot they say, I think he could be the first 7 time world champ, and in all honesty "if" the brits won the world cup who would complain? just think hes lost a bit of respect today (it wont bother him, nor should it), but I'm just one person who wont purchase another £25 piece of clothing from his merchandise now as I quoted on another page.....jesus was born in a stable, it doesn't make him a horse!

the ego has taken off again tonight on twitter. Tai says "i done more for speedway in last 3 years than anyone will do in the next 10".....I sure hope someone proves him wrong now!
-
I not gone back and read it, but my apologises
-
agree with a lot you say here Gavan, as I said earlier, TODAY, is the day I lost faith in Tai. Yes I see its a busy schedule, but I ask anybody again, ...would 1 hectic day ruin his title hopes? if he rode here, I think one missed day would of been accepted. the fact british fans never see him, I believe its not too much to hope the holder and world champ would grace the british final. its quite disappointing, but I say again, I agree its a busy period.. Gavan also correct in saying, his attendance wouldn't bring out more people. buster said the same in a ss interview a few weeks ago. hes world champion, but try finding him on the monster energy website!
-
went off him today. pathetic. "double standards" is a two way thing, don't go spouting off to the Sun newspaper to look good, saying how people used to go and watch the best, Mauger and Briggo......then the best (now) don't give them the opportunity to see them!! double standards my a*se!!
-
just read an old on-line Sun story. Tai quotes, id love speedway to be more popular -"it annoys me when people say i used to go to speedway and watch Mauger and Briggo, i would like to think that legacy can continue"........well thanks for helping Tai................

yes he raised 1,000s, I'm sure we all have donated, did charity events, ALL amounts are important, not just the big cheques. Of course his name carries weight in fund raising, I was just pointing out, his charity work isn't really the issue here. And at no point, did I even suggest it was a publicity stunt. Woffy as yet, hasn't achieved a Cardiff win, my point was bomber putting one over him in Cardiff, not winning the world title. Until today I never thought in-different about woffy, but this stinks of the highest order. ONE DAY in a busy top class quality rider. You will never convince me, one day will change anything about his title bid.
-
Well, what a disappointment. id followed Tai and spoke up for him numerous times on here, BUT, no longer. Is that one day going to make or break his title bid? I very much doubt it.. He could of slightly helped his cause, by taking the mic at belle vue and telling his fans in person of his decision, but no, not gave a toss about his "fans"...im just gutted I wasted £25 on his merchandise, cos I sure wont be putting anymore money in that direction. chapman and rosco clearly don't want to speak out of line either! Come on bomber, this can be the biggest incentive you ever had to put one over him now, I'm sure your the one the crowd will back in Cardiff now. As for above post backing his charity? don't bring that into it. It was done on HIS behalf, he chose to do it, WE gave the money! I'm sure 90% on here has gone out and raised some kind of money for charity!
-
hands up, i another who backed him, but just before slagging him off, I think its best to wait til we see reason...

agree poole will win the league again, but ALL promoters build their own squads, Poole just do it better. And if anybody else want to strengthen mid season to challenge poole, they can openly do so...instead of teams throwing the towel in, do something about it.. -
