bw, couple msgs up, states "case closed" and "ends debate"..all meant to like this sport, yet some try telling us what THEY believe is best. I have noticed us "oldies" are open to debate, yet the other ones like to dictate the debate.

The night witches won the league that year, (under traditional format) the title was never in doubt. Swindon turned up at foxhall, and between the clubs were 31 POINTS.. Yet a huge crowd witnessed witches win the league. you didn't need a play off to get large crowd out

exactly why I brought up witches 98..ko cup final 4,000 (playoff size crowd) winning title against Swindon (same again), these crowds typically rise when trophies handed out. it doesn't have to be play offs, any title decider is similar. the play offs produce good crowds, buthave done nothing long term for speedway, just 2 weeks a season?

was a year witches cleaned up, from memory I believe ko cup had 4,000 crowd against Coventry, and a large crowd against lowly Swindon to win the league, also a big craven shield final night, despite those nights (I believe) there wasn't a profit (or any) made from that season..obviously with gollob/ricko/Louis the wage bill would of been high, but lots didn't like the walk overs, week after week

been some famous comings together over the years, but dugard and Stefan Andersen was some punch!

never get when riders pick gate 2 at a gp.. if the rider in gate 1, slightly move, it must be off putting and instincts must push you into the tapes. you also have to gate, on par, at least with gate one

hi hodgy, is there a club/s you know of that's been saved ...because of the play offs?....belle vue had been lowly for a number of years, yet planned a new stadium, so they were going nowhere? I get sidneys point, and to an extent get your point too, but as far as im aware, id not heard of any club saved by the play off. I stand corrected if wrong
