  1. Where did you get that idea from I stated it would be an interesting talking point as he develops... and we wont have long to wait I dont think.
  2. For making a scathing statement before he had all the facts. Fundamental mistake. Before you make a decision (any decision) you should know all the facts
  3. Has Buster Chapman apologised for his remarks re BV opening meeting???????
  4. Personally I think times have changed since then. European speedway existed back then but not to the degree it is now. With the top league speedway being in Denmark, Sweden and Poland to me it makes sense as a world class rider to compete in them to earn the money to give me a reasonable standard of living when I retire. 3 meetings a week on a regular basis is a tough call for anyone, what with the travelling, looking after bikes, and having a home/family to think of. Having a meeting in the UK, especially now as the EL is a shadow of its former self, is one meeting too much, added of course that one meeting per week moves about the week making any sort of planning/routine go out the window. OK, it could be said that competing in the UK Championship is a semi plus a final..... but then the organisers put the semis so close to a world championship gp weekend. What does a top rider do? Go out full belt in a UK championship semi, risking injury when next day he is in a world GP match with a chance of winning the GP/world championship. There would be a serious risk this world class rider would race if he gated, but not be so keen to mix it and risk injury if he didn't get the gate. I know which I would choose, and to make it clear, it would be the latter - tootle round. And if you notice that is what Tai seems to do in the GPs anyway. If he gates he goes for it, if he not in the front after a lap he sometimes (not always) settles for 2 points or even 1, knowing points make prizes and even one point at the end of the season could mean the difference to being world champ or not. To me, Tai is thinking sensibly, and with British speedway being in the state its is, I don't think it matters one jot to press coverage whether Tai is in the British final or not. I am sure they will be interesting discussion re Robert Lambert as he develops, will he ide in the UK or will he elect Den/Swe/Pol as his means of league career and do the same as Tai - its only a matter of a short time before we find out IMO.
  5. If I remember rightly Fundin didn't want to ride in/for Sweden one year and they banned him from the world championship, that spoilt his run of every year being in the top 3 on final night. There were a few others who had dust ups particularly with the Swedish authorities, so Tai is not breaking new ground.
  6. Hi Phillip, did Buster give a timescale for when this task of re writing the rules? For the start of 2017 maybe?
  7. I was reading it that it will be compulsory for a UK rider to actually enter the competition. Probably read it wrong.
  8. Is that real? Even for a rider who does not want to ride in the UK EL? Dangerous move - BSPA may be kicking themselves up the backside
  9. but forum posters were saying the track was atrocious well before the result of the match was known.
  10. Whatever you think of Woffy withdrawing his service from this years British championship, you cannot impose a penalty without first warning that penalties are in place and will be enacted. And I know that this year he announced he wasnt going to do the championship at the very start of the season, BUT it doesnt help any rider, from any country, who has a tight schedule riding abroad, for the ruling powers to select qualifying rounds that essentially clash with a gp. Only an idiot would want to ride a semi final uk championship round the night before a world gp in a country some distance away and miss practice in the process.
  11. Sounds like Holders success in the GP's is affecting his mental attitude to riding in UK.Maybe he thinking more like Tai - its got to be right for the GP's. Maybe its what Zagar will have to do if he wants to become a serious challenger for a world championship. He shows occasions when he could challenge for world champion but is not consistent.
  12. You expect Tai to do Moto X, trials riding, British superbikes or something. Your way off course.
  13. What about SWC at Belle Vue at the end of July? and if the contractors had laid the BV track correct first time he would have been visible in the UK at the end of March.
  14. There was more then a few seats left in the (temporary) east stand when I looked about 6 days ago
  15. but there has only been Manchester City Council willing to cough up the money for a nice modern stadium, I dont see Coventry Council or Swindon Council or any other council ready to support a track. Instead of criticising the fact BV has a modern stadium with what is proving to be a very good race track, why not get behind it and celebrate that Uk has a nice modern speedway stadium within a couple mile of a large city centre with all that has to offer. That thread I posted earlier shows that lots of meetings have been rained off this year already, something to do with the environment I believe.
  16. capone - have a read of this thread, read every post, only 4 pages http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=81318
  17. 6:15pm, and we just had a very heavy downfall, and we just 30 miles west of BV and it usually heads that way - hope not this time.
  18. We all would agree he is there by right, and would acknowledge he is unlikely to pull out, doesnt mean to say we cannot express what we thinking. It was sad to see Ales Drymal in his last year, 2013 was it. A good international rider over his career, but it wasnt nice to see him struggling towards the back of the field time after time. Unless things change dramatically this will be Chris last year in the GP's, my opinion is he should have left couple years ago with his reputation fully intact.
  19. I have always supported most the riders that I like. Nationality has no hold on me. The world championship is an individual championship, so whilst the riders will wear a breast plate of their country, and sing (or no) their national anthem - matters not to me. I like good close exciting racing, no matter who the 4 riders are. Of course, personalities come into it as well. But I coudnt care less if they come from Timbukto or cloud cucko land.
  20. Colin, I would go along with you except the position he is in now, just after 2 rounds, is basically where he has been last couple of years. During those couple years he not really showed a flicker of improving, he may have got to a semi - cant really remember so it wasnt that electrifying if he had. As for "if harris ended today" - yes, would agree with you, he done very well and there is not many UK riders won a GP, so hats off to him for that......... but he is at the end of his international career, well even dare to say... past the end of it. Hes done well, and sometimes its best to leave the room while reputation still intact. Only my views.
  21. The stand on the 3-4 bend is the temporary one that will be erected when the crowd is anticipated to be very large. It will be erected for the SWC end of July. I understand its seated, but not covered.
  22. Is that Victor Trofinov Jnr presunmably the son ofthe Victor Trofinoc that toured UK some years ago?? See the adverts for a Suzuki Cross sX4 - 14900 zlotys Think I go live in Poland - things are cheaper there Just done a translation, 14900 is a dicount - thought it was cheap.
