  1. but there has only been Manchester City Council willing to cough up the money for a nice modern stadium, I dont see Coventry Council or Swindon Council or any other council ready to support a track. Instead of criticising the fact BV has a modern stadium with what is proving to be a very good race track, why not get behind it and celebrate that Uk has a nice modern speedway stadium within a couple mile of a large city centre with all that has to offer. That thread I posted earlier shows that lots of meetings have been rained off this year already, something to do with the environment I believe.
  2. capone - have a read of this thread, read every post, only 4 pages http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=81318
  3. 6:15pm, and we just had a very heavy downfall, and we just 30 miles west of BV and it usually heads that way - hope not this time.
  4. We all would agree he is there by right, and would acknowledge he is unlikely to pull out, doesnt mean to say we cannot express what we thinking. It was sad to see Ales Drymal in his last year, 2013 was it. A good international rider over his career, but it wasnt nice to see him struggling towards the back of the field time after time. Unless things change dramatically this will be Chris last year in the GP's, my opinion is he should have left couple years ago with his reputation fully intact.
  5. I have always supported most the riders that I like. Nationality has no hold on me. The world championship is an individual championship, so whilst the riders will wear a breast plate of their country, and sing (or no) their national anthem - matters not to me. I like good close exciting racing, no matter who the 4 riders are. Of course, personalities come into it as well. But I coudnt care less if they come from Timbukto or cloud cucko land.
  6. Colin, I would go along with you except the position he is in now, just after 2 rounds, is basically where he has been last couple of years. During those couple years he not really showed a flicker of improving, he may have got to a semi - cant really remember so it wasnt that electrifying if he had. As for "if harris ended today" - yes, would agree with you, he done very well and there is not many UK riders won a GP, so hats off to him for that......... but he is at the end of his international career, well even dare to say... past the end of it. Hes done well, and sometimes its best to leave the room while reputation still intact. Only my views.
  7. The stand on the 3-4 bend is the temporary one that will be erected when the crowd is anticipated to be very large. It will be erected for the SWC end of July. I understand its seated, but not covered.
  8. Is that Victor Trofinov Jnr presunmably the son ofthe Victor Trofinoc that toured UK some years ago?? See the adverts for a Suzuki Cross sX4 - 14900 zlotys Think I go live in Poland - things are cheaper there Just done a translation, 14900 is a dicount - thought it was cheap.
  9. I thought Chris Harris changed his team through the winter, for the better he was proclaiming. Seems like the opposite to me.
  10. Its logical to say that centrifugal force would flick any sort of oil onto the plates.
  11. Phil, can the straights be brought in, with bends being reshaped so different lines available. Would changes like that infringe FIM track regulations?
  12. Nice to see Lambert with a semi wild card ride - good experiance, and who knows where it may take him. Nice to see KK and FF being favoured by some - 2 exciting riders
  13. eric 1 - see #145 on previous page, similar thought but may not meet regulations.
  14. There is a good sized hotel about 100 yeards from the track, google hotels belle vue manchester.
  15. Thanks for that. Noticed a good size crowd. What happened in that race when 2 came off on the last bend - who was excluded?
  16. You will like the city, make sure you get to the quay area, really nicely presented, the stadium is great, and the racing can be good too. Enjoy
  17. Actually, I am thinking whats on Eurosport this year, one hour, is much better then the last couple years where all the meeting was televised, tractor grading as well, plus all the return to pits gate after a false start etc. Now its seems more slick, and I get to see what i tuned in for, the racing. I assumed those missing heats at the beginning (I didnt even notice missed heats) was down to those races being gate and win, as a lot of early heats can be ie Warsaw on Saturday. Sure, I can imagine switching the times of the showing is changing week by week can be more then a little annoying, and can matter a lot to some people, I just got the sky box (through which I watch Eurosport, to "record series" and come Wednesday evening I can watch an hour of speedway.
  18. I would love him to, but he is not obliged to - as others will quickly say "he earned his place", which is very true, but sadly is not doing the GPs any good. 2 x3 points so far, cant see it getting much better.
  19. But is he going to get a chance/ If Jarek is back at Horsen then thats going to stop ff for a while and may take the wind out of his sails. Lindgren is taking points off the Poles at the moment, Jarek will ride to stop that I reckon.
  20. No mention of Emil though, presume they assuming he will still not be fit. Any news about his injuries?
  21. Re Cardiff v Warsaw. I thought if they pulled the straights in at Cardiff that would make the turns tighter but wider - meaning different lines on the corners available. The track though would be shorter if they measure on the white line or metre from white line, whatever it will be shorter and therefore may not meet FIM standards. Edit - added "may" near the end of last sentence.
