  1. As I said, No point being the top club when there are no other clubs to compete against. No doubt about it, speedway in the UK is going down, its now up to individual promotors to work together for the betterment of the sport, to make sure there is a tomorrow.
  2. Seems Matt Ford is a clever man but from what others imply, is the way he runs Poole doing the best for British speedway. No point in being the top club when there are no other clubs to compete against.
  3. Been away from speedway for 30 years and since returning the stories I hear (on this forum) as to whats happening in British speedway shocks me. It seems something is badly wrong, has been for some years, and unless major change will continue into the future. When I look at my recent copy of Bactrack magazine I am reminded that at one time there were two leagues each with 18 teams. Of course lots of things have changed in the UK since then that eroded the potential of speedway, but looking at the sorry state of affairs now and one could almost cry. I dont have an answer to the problem and sadly neither does the powers that be in UK speedway. I can only see a further demise in British speedway in the future. I am now only interested in the top individual meetings, but may be tempted to go to the new Belle Vue to see national league speedway sometime this year, maybe soon.
  4. I will go along with CHR re Sverre Harrfeldt. Agree he wasn't in the Fundin/Briggs class, not quite, but neither was I surprised when he came 2nd, and I wouldn't have been surprised if he had won it.
  5. Well done to Jordan, I bet those young lads really enjoyed that meeting. Nice to see 3 GB riders there, DEN and PL uled the day but good to see number of CZ in the top ten, and NL 4 times in the lsit.
  6. Thanks - just managed to get to the site and see the result. My broadband speed at the best of times is 1.5mb/s, there is a fault at the moent and best I can get is .8 mb/s, thats point eight Sometimes i dont get through to a site, the fault leaves me with no broadband then it kicks back in. Living in a countrified area has its pluses but times like this is very frustrating
  7. Great reviews of last nights racing and even better reviews of the track and stadium. Anyone care to list the final match score?
  8. Sounds like Jarek is not healing too quick sadly. Could be his GP season is wrecked before he starts. Kildemand just missed out top 8 last year by 3 points having missed 3 meetings. Can Hampel possibly qualify even by missing 2 meetings. Its looking doubtful.
  9. Looks like it may be 4 times the distance that the railway station is, so not too far away, and it will be a pleasant walk as you walk past the castle/grounds.
  10. BT Sport replaced it with rerun of the GP from last Saturday. Dont know if they going to show the Pairs some other time.
  11. If anyone in the market for a broadband change, Plusnet are doing until May 10th a 18 month free standard broad band deal for FREE (then £9.99pm), plus £15.49 line rental if paid 12 month in advance. On fibre broadband it is 6 months free (then £14.99pm), line rental £15.49pm if paid 12 month in advance. PlusNet is a subsidiary of BT. At the moment you can get BT Sports (4 channels) for £9.99pm (monthly contract) if you have any Sky TV package even the basic packages. Its what I did, same package, 6 months ago, joined the BT Sports package last week so got to see the Slovenian GP Woth a look
  12. I think, but maybe wrong, that Ellesmere Port still does dogs. I live about 5 miles from EP and from the M53 you can see the stadium and track - its certainly not getting overgrown. Maybe still hope.
  13. Excellent Backtrack, not finished it yet but enjoying it.
  14. I used to, remember, but didn't want ou all to suffer too long so changed it back to OF
  15. Another old man who cant face the change of life - ditches his wife (sorry partner) and kids for a younger version, then tarts himself up to look younger - but everyone knows the truth, hes just an oldie (relatively speaking)
  16. Is that what a track gets when Sky TV is at their stadium? Wow and its said Sky take a preference to Poole, if thats the case its no wonder Matt Ford can afford all the foreigners he has. Preference - what, with a hole in the middle of the bend.
  17. Thats alright, even Jason Doyle was writing himself off after two races but look what he did so well.
  18. Oulton Park had a race cut short due to rain, another postponed by 30 min till the rain stopped, another had a number of fallers due to lack of grip. And thats on tarmac which can dry out fairly quickly with no rain and warm conditions which was the case at Oulton Park. BV decision must have been the right decision judging on Oulton paprk which is about 30 miles west from BV and the weather was going BVs way from the west. Wouldnt like to be at Oulton Park in a car today, much of the car park areas are on greass, and some not on level grass - would be a nightmare at going home time.
  19. Bikes need to change - yes please. Lets go back to the uprights, 4 valve was ok, as was 2 valve
  20. I doing a similar thing with Plusnt, they offer BT Sport for £10 pm if you have Sky TV (basic tv is ok, dont need any extras). Plusnet BT Sport is a rolling contract so 30 days notice will be given so it finishes just after the Aussie GP.
  21. And I just tried it and ok - though due to my poor broadband speed I am having to runit at 360 but thats ok full screen on a 23" monitor. Noticed Krsoko had two starting gates in position, plus a guy wiping the muck of the outside vertical gate pole.
  22. Getting more then a bit boring now, we all know things haven't started right at the new stadium, but some are more looking at the future instead of harping on about the past which no one can do anything about.
