  1. Too much dirt on outside, not enough on the inside. Rider need to be taught about being aware where other riders are, and that leads on to team riding - the art has completely gone. Do hope the injured riders are not too bad. Shame Leicester lost in the end, better team for much of the match, just lost out at the end due to lack of riders.
  2. I would like Emil to win, but really am not too bothered as long as the racing is close and clean (that puts Kildemand down the list)
  3. I hope Emil will win, and put him well and truly on the road to being world champion this year.
  4. Remind yourself of what Craig Cooke can do................ remember he won heat 3 in 2015, beating Holder, Hancock and Janowski. http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/5894/video-%7C-cooks-cardiff-roof-raiser I reckon Cookie will be a different rider to what we saw i Poland at the SWC couple weeks ago. Could be a semi final on the plate....that would be a good result for him.
  5. I will settle for 2 valvers then - just bring them back. Racing was just as exciting for spectators, riders certainly looked in more control of the machine - just look at the likes of Zmarzlik, he definitely looks like hes hanging on for life. Roll on the revolution
  6. After the debacle at Belle Vue opening meeting in 2016 when the riders refused to ride, I said then that more meetings would be called off due to tiders. I am surprised it has took so long, especially after seeing racing from Pooles MotoX track. But now its happened. Be interesting to see what Chapman does about it - it was all huff and puff immediately after the BV meeting call off, but he seems a bit quiet now. I am still looking forward to one day finding out what really was going on a BV that night, and the same might be said for KL last Thursday
  7. I just got the latest Backtrack magazine through the post yesterday and it lovely to see an action picture on the front cover showing an upright Weslake 4-valve in action - just bring those days back.....that would be a good start to getting speedway back on the right tracks.
  8. Well, 3 of those mentioned in the afore posts were at Belle Vue at one time or another Johnnie Hoskins Dent Oliver Frank Varey All added something to the value of going to BV, probably the most value added by Johnnie Hoskins - a true showman
  9. Yes, cookie is same as biscuit...... though at one point thought you were referring to "Cookie", that is Craig Cook
  10. great, but its the dunking the biscuit bit that helps to relax
  11. I said something the same more then a few posts ago - his command of written english is too good for him to be a pole - thick plank maybe, but not a pole. Just a wind up merchant and he gets too much attention - like now
  12. I would imagine the GTR Freddie is riding now is a lot different to what Chris Harris was riding 2 years ago. The reason Marcel is in the pits virtually every GP is not to top up the fuel in Freddies tank, but to discus/get feedback the response to any tweaks Marcel has made. The result of that feedback will be in future GTRs no doubt Thats exactly how GM would have progressed, any any sort of engine, frame, chassis whether speedway or F1
  13. I cant really see any rider expecting to jump on any bike with the same engine as a GP rider and expect to be like a GP rider. Thats silly and I dont hink speedway riders are that silly
  14. but you cnt expect a rider in the champions league to ride like Freddie, nor the vast majority in the premier division.
  15. Cook did all right at Cardiff last time - 7 points if I remember right, that would be just short of a semi place. Ok he wasnt on fire last night, whether it was all due to set up or engine lacking hp - but he saw Worrel do what he did and he must take encouragement from that.
  16. Another good meeting and as far as watching speedway riders go I enjoyed it. Was their a difference between the track prep from Friday to Saturday? Its just that all the Russians were more into it on Friday - Emil 15, Cug Cug 11 etc, but they didnt seem to have the same "go" in them - tiredness maybe. Friday Chugunov was gating well, so was Emil, but Saturday..... Yes I know the opposition was better quality on Saturday, but still Russia lacking. Team GB (yes I like the name) was not fully prepared for that meeting IMO. Perhaps one of the negatives of going straight to the final thus lack of track knowledge. Poor management from the top of British speedway, they all want sacking. How on earth does any country expect its young riders to get to the top of the international scene without experience of riding international circuits with other riders from various countries. Chris Harris tried as hard as ever does, but we know he coming to an end of his international career, but 10 out of 10 for his whole souled efforts. Stevie Worrel came good at the end. He really did take a bite of the cherry and gave it all he got and he deserves a BIG pat on the back, mixing it with top world class riders. Those races will stand him well for the future - and like he said "thats the best race that I have finished last". Yes, deserved more then 0 points, should have been 2. Cookie and Robert, not on it at all sadly. Cookie in his last race off 4 took the high line on bend 1-2, like others had, but didnt seem to know what to do with it and lost ground, unlike other riders getting an advantage from it. Put it all down to lack of experience. What goes round comes round. Poles are ruling the roost at the moment, but it wont last forever, but if its Team GB that does the challenging then there has to be a massive change in attitude at the very top of British speedway is required and it is required NOW
  17. I am sure Pearson said something almost immediately Batch slowed down.
  18. But I dont know where the original poster is travelling from. If from my area, then travelling straight DOWN the middle of ways makes complete sense. Again, knowing all the facts is helpful.
  19. June 11th - thats nearly 4 weeks ago. Why such a length of time? Does it take that long to get the results of a drug test. If he gets banned for 2 years then that will be the end of his top career, just too old to get back to the top again. Dudek did it I know, but he a lot younger.
  20. Another top class meeting on a race track. Aussies well and truly stuffed, rather enjoyable at the end when struggling to hold places. Russia and Latvia certainly provided lots of entertainment Tuesday and tonight. Well done to Chugunov, hopefully he will make it to the top. He can gate and ride fast, obviously lacking experience but that will come. 17 year old, GB needs to be bold to promote a promising youngster. The Joker is a real joke, made more so by the antics tonight by Batchelor, obviously thats been done before and the loophole closed, but I agree cheating to get the joker played surely means they loose it completely. I look forward to tomorrow night. I agree with whoever said GB needs to be holding international home and away to give youngsters a great experience. Yes, Russia and latvia, but Czech, Italy, Germany, France, even Sweden and Denmark. let the Poles have it for a few years, but it will be GB time again, likewise, Denmark, Sweden etc
