  1. It's not more or less sensible but it would be easier to understand. Thought can you imagine the BSPA introducing this one in Novembers AGM and saying the points limit is being dropped to 6?! People would freak out about how rubbish the league has become
  2. So what you think is much fairer is to grade riders, which means the riders at the bottom of the grading will not be wanted while those at the top will be in demand. Lets assume Grade 5 is 3-5 point average, and grade 4 is 5.01 to 6.50 and you have only enough to sign a grade 5 rider, you basically have enough to sign a rider on up to 5, what if the rider you want is 5.01? How is it any different? In fact it's worse as why would you sign a 5.01 rider in grade 4 when you could sing a 6.50 rider?! Grading is a silly idea and a points limit works just fine.
  3. TBF, there's a few EL tracks where all you ever get is riding and not racing on a good day. I've seen enough gate and go meeting over the years to know it doesn't matter how wet or dry the track is, it can happen. I'd say if anything, the tracks where it's wet throw up better racing sometimes - obviously only to a certain point but it's beyond the point where they seem happy to call meetings off these days. In fact Cov vs Lakeside recently, heat 10 saw Bomber gate, be passed by both Hammers before retaking the lead - great race, so great track you'd think, nope, they called the meeting off 2 minutes later! In fact Chris Harris is even better to watch on a messed up track than a well prepared one. I'd imagine Garrity wouldn't give a crap either
  4. Good, I like it being no Quest. The SWC is normally good so I can in all good conscience tell all the non-speedway fans I know to watch it without feeling guilty, until they bring out the joker anyway - but I'll act dumb when that happens.
  5. It's Cov vs Poole. Also now the only 1 of 3 EL meetings for tonight to not be off (yet!), lets hope it stays that way.
  6. Thats the answer. 6 man teams, 3 heat format. Think of all the 9 point averages achieved in only 3 heats! You could charge £25 for this new, stronger league!
  7. plus actually, in the average league meeting, the combined average of the two teams is normally less than 84 (84 being 2 lots of 42) because the 4 riders going into heat 15 generally have a higher average than 6 between them, so heat 15 will drag them down.
  8. I'm confused. You claim Lewis Blackbird and Lewis Kerr are like-for-like but there's 0.8 between their EL averages. So why isn't James Sarjeant who is within 0.80 of Lewis Blackbird not like-for-like with Blackbird? Lewis Blackbirds PL average is 7.92 to 7.7 for Sarj. Kerr is 7.12. So Sarj is better than Kerr. So do tell me, how is Blackbird like-for-like with Kerr but Sarj is a lesser rider. Pair Sarj up with Ash Morris who is normally at the back or Bates who is at the back more often than Garrity and Sarjs average would actually go up.
  9. Why would we want to replace the guy considered good enough to replace Lindgren in heat 13? I'm not claiming Sarj is that good. I'm just pointing out his averages is within a point of Blackbirds and Blackbird and Kerr have as big a difference and you claimed earlier that Blackbird and Kerr are like for like so it stands to reason Sarj and Blackbird are like for like.
  10. You mean James Sarjeant, the guy averaging 8 in the PL? Or more than Lakeside and Swindons best reserves? And is infact within a point of Lewis Blackbird who you think is "like for like" with Lewis Kerr who is draft. Yeah, fair enough.
  11. It would be odd for a Pole to take out a British passport too - there nothing to be gained from it other than being allowed to ride MDL lol
  12. Hopefully those who questioned Hans' commitment to the Bees recently will be feeling a little silly now!
  13. The KOC failed because the promoters treated it as an irrelevant after thought and run it in September and October. Have it do EVERY KOC meeting (in the same round obviously) takes place in the same week. We all know then when the KOC meetings will take place in March. Round would could be sometimes in April, round two in May or June. And the final in July or August. Have actual dates for it, make it a big thing. Have the KOC draw live on twitter the day after the last meeting (or the following Tuesday as thats BSPA meeting day) and you could make a big thing of it. Not trying to squash meetings in after the league is over and it's cold and wet.
  14. Get a cope of Bjerres 2nd bend in heat 12, I'm sure it wasn't Bjerre Shoved his way into the lead!
  15. This is the issue with Kildemand for me. For a man who happily "nudges" others a lot of the time, he goes down too easily when someone makes contact with him. At least Emil, while happily to give it out, had to be ridden through before he falls off. edit> Harsh blaming Baran. Hes had a stinker of a meeting, he just had to get out in front, Kildemand, the senior rider in the heat should be looking out for his team mate. Would have been all 4 back over here too!
  16. They're terrible. Can't see either beating an opponent who completes a race!
  17. It strikes me as morally wrong if nothing else to use non-Brits in the MDL.
  18. If they both ride like they did this afternoon they'll be on the greyhound track Couldn't get more chalk and cheese!! I'm expecting a small Wolves win tbh.
  19. It's Bjerre, he was hardly going to be picking people off was he?!
  20. A tiny little bit of luck could see Koza on 5 now and not 1, not the greatest of styles but he makes up for it in effort!
  21. That makes sense. Probably put him in, then it was pointed out eh was riding else where. Good news for Lynn fans, Kenneth has just one heat 1 in Poland by the proverbial mile. He could have had a pit stop half way and still won!
  22. 90 points in a meeting, 60 rides in a meeting 90/60 x 4 = 6
  23. I've said for a while we should have King (or Kylmo before that) at number 2. Get off to a good start, it would have also meant less pressure on Hans while he was struggling.
