But if the promoters have decided to go EL, they must have some plans and must think it's possible. Why then are fans moaning about going Elite?

2015 Speedway Gp Challange
SCB replied to OveFundinFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Lambert didn't compete in the U21s as the Germans didn't pick him and he doesn't have a British license. The BSPA confirmed this in a press release when they announced the riders. So the same would be true fur the senior titles. Not sure how Rasmus Jensen is doing it. -
Swindon Robins V Coventry Bees 26th May 2015
SCB replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Good crowd, good atmosphere, fairly decent meeting. But apart from Robbo screwing up Hans in heat 10 and Troy going around him every pass was around the inside. How long will it be for speedway riders to grasp that 95 of passing is on the inside - ride the kerb abd you probably won't be passed. Heat 14 could have gone either way. -

Lamberts German licence is the issue here surely? -
The PL has NL riders too. The PLs crowds are dropping too. And the PL has not had a World Champion ever ride in it. Both leagues have exactly the same issues. Well, apart from the fact the EL is trying to drag British Speedway riders along before demanding that the two reserve places should be British. What is the PL doing exactly? Nothing as far as I can see.

Swc Match 2 Kings Lynn Monday June 8th
SCB replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Why? King is in better form that Cook. Similar EL average despite having spent half the season as heat leader while Cook as been second string all season. Kings slightly ahead in the PL averages too. edit> Don't get me wrong, I'd have not really had an issue if Cook had been picked. But Cook and King are pretty much the same. I'd probably put Danny just ahead though - unless the meeting is at BV or Edinburgh. -

This is why I don't get why Morris is sticking with the PL and not getting rides in Sweden, Poland and Denmark like Fricke. Its them places that get you noticed, not Glasgow on a Sunday afternoon. That said, his EL form is brilliant. I think he's 4th in the EL averages, so has to be in the Aussie team. -
The only blinkers are those worn by PL fans who seem to want to blame all the sports ills on the EL.

I get how to the people running the club the books have to be balanced, it's a business as well as a sport. That's fine, thats sensible and it's the right way to go, the last thing we need is clubs plunged into a financial mess because of some ego-maniac wanting to compete at the highest level (be it speedway, or a Leed United in football). But surely if the books are balanced and those running the team can afford it, the fans should want to see their team competing at the highest level? Are you really telling me is Kent announced tomorrow they were signing Mark Loram that the people of Kent would go, "nah, don't want to see him. He's too good"? People want to see the best, people want to be the best, surely? Or just what is the point. I should point out as well the "muppet" part of my post was aimed at a few people specifically on the TV - it's not really relevant on here so hopefully nobody has taken offence to it!

Why does it have to be a mental why? Why can't it just be he's a feckless moron who throws everything back in the face of people who try to help him? Maybe he's just a selfish person? I love how some people are claiming it's depression, Lewis has not even hinted at that being the case. He's use the death of a man 3 years ago as an excuse, to me, thats sick. Bring up a dead man so people can't throw abuse at me because they'll be the uncaring ones. If he'd have retired around the time of Lees death I would have had a lot of sympathy for him. But to carry on riding for 2 and a half season before retiring and THEN messing around 2 clubs, thats pathetic.
-
You think using the death of a man 3 years ago is not pretty sick when justify retiring now? Again, for a 3rd time in 6 months?

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
SCB replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
They'd probably cope if they knew it was 1, maybe 2 meetings every week. But some clubs go 2 or 3 weeks without a meeting, then have 2 or 3 weeks where they ride 10 times. It's madness. The fixtures should be spread out evenly. I know someone with a fixture compiler that could help fix that -
Newcastle Diamonds V Glasgow Tiger's 25th May

Once Sarj gets an average him being missing won't be such an issue as you'll get 7 point guests for him. Just need to get those away meetings in to get him an average! -
This was my facebook status last week. Seems appropriate here. I don't get sports fans who say they'd prefer their team in a league other than the top league for some spurious reason. Normally because it's "win at all cost" or "all about the money" which makes me laugh even more as those are two opposing things. Where your ambition you muppets?!
-
What a prick. The amount of times I have defended him, over and over. Why did I bother? Seems 90% of people who said he was a waste of space were right.

Coventry Bees V King's Lynn 25th May 2015
SCB replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It's Havvys job to talk up his team. He's hardly going to say, "did you see their team? My God I nearly feel off my chair in shock at how poor it was after some bad luck for them in the last week with injuries and had we not beat them by this much it would have been embarrassing". But when you look at it, Lambert, Porsing and Morris were all poor, thats as close to half of your team as it gets. MPT didn't do a bad job, thought I guess you would have probably expected a few more form Rory. As for Roynon/Kerr - Coventrys reserves are so good it's debatable that Kerr would have scored much more too. That said, if i was a Lynn fan, I'd not be getting too worried based on this one result. We all know that losing Schlein and Bjerre is a massive kick in the man area. Hopefully Bjerre won't let it effect him as he was just getting sorted and the club will used the Rory injury as a chance to replace Porsing at the same time and what you'll lose in Schlein, you'll gain in replacing Porsing. -

A week today Kozza gets a new average (done his 4 home and 4 away now). I make it 4.57. It means Glasgow have enough points to bring in a 5.97 rider to replace Palovara (or Sarjeant). It'll drop Kozza to reserve with Sarj (until he rides his 4th away meeting then Berge will drop to reserve with Kozza). But what 6 pointer? Is Anders Thomsen available? -
