  1. I'm with Rob, bring back to knock out format.
  2. Certainly looks that way. All winter (Oz summer) he has been scoring good points against excellent opposition. I'm just hoping that the Lejonen website is correct and he is in some way connected to Coventry, he looks the real deal. How do the Aussies manage to send one over nearly every year? We've had Batchelor, Holder, Woffinden (he may be British but he come through there system), Grajczonek and then Ward. Now it seems Sam Masters has got something about him.
  3. The Aussies always give all their places to the top riders in the Oz Finals. It's only really us that doesn't.
  4. As you're paying about £500 a night less you can just get breakfast delivered
  5. This could only ever be discussed on a speedway forum For the record, I agree
  6. Women can compete with the men in speedway though, unlike most other sports. Sabrina Bøgh won the Danish Under 21 Championship in 2001 with a full maximum. She also rode a few meeting for the Danish Under 21 team. I believe she retired and took up a position in Kenneth Bjerre race crew.
  7. Kenny Carter. I was still rubbishting my nappies when he ended his life but I'm still in awe of the speedway rider. He has managed to provoke many pages of debate that many speedway great have failed to do. What a rider. Kenny Carter the guy, what a idiot (and many other words even I'd not dare post on this forum) but what he did makes Kenny Carter the speedway rider, they explain one or two things. The guy was on the edge, he was a "mad man" (said in a good and a bad way). I recent joined a group on facebook, "You may think im a twit.....but your still thinking about me!!!" and that could well have been the title of Kennys book. Even 25 years on he is still making headlines in speedway and still causing people to argue and discuss. There's only one rider I wish I could have seen live, in his prime, Kenny. Stick your Penhalls, Olsens, Nielsens, Morans, Maugers, Collins, Lees...... Kenny is the guy who to this day I really wish I could see live. I'll end as I started, Kenny Carter the speedway rider I'm still in awe. Kenny Carter the person a right idiot but we needed him to be a idiot to love (or hate) him as a speedway rider.
  8. Do you not remember the conversation at BV? Yes! I can Skype from my phone and it's probably a pretty average phone by todays standards. In fact, 3 make a big thing about having free Skype these days, link here for UK peeps. I can also use msn on my phone and even log in direct to live updates (remember, I even updated Nicks site from the track about the weather on his testimonial day). It's getting tot he point that there won't need to be an updater soon, it can be done straight from the track. I don't know where they are from a cost/tariff perspective in Aus ATM but it's all very easily (and freely, at worst, cheaply) doable in this country.
  9. Based on that we could have many riders. I'll start with Craig Watson, Robert Ksiesak and Joel Parsons. I swear a disproportionate number of Aussies have Scottish grand parents. I guess they are all related to criminals in Aus, so......
  10. Richardson is far and away in every sense possible the best British rider at present and has been for a few years now. He had a really terrible seaosn in 2006 but still did better in Poland and Sweden than any other Brit and was probably top 4 in the EL averages. I think I'm right in saying that he has best performer in all but 2 of the SWCs for GB (cant say top scoring as Chris Harris scored 3 more than him this season, but I'm sure everyone would accept Lee was capable of scoring 4+ at Peterborough) and he IS our leading scoring in all SWC events. But he's not liked by the Brits so they'll all choose to ignore it. Oh and he's the only active British rider with a World Championship medal for speedway.
  11. seeded riders. This is the EL section, there is already a thread in the GP section to discuss this.
  12. Glad Kennetts not got a place, for his sake as much as anything. Shame Bomber has a place though, I was hoping he'd have a season out that would cause him to have a Hans Andersen season where he stepped it up a level.
  13. Actually, Wolverhampton/BV in 1993 was closer. Last heat decider, 3 points in it.
  14. Silver Bee asked me if I was going to Torun with him next year I said no. Now it's more or less confirmed we're having comedy night as well as a Speedway GP I might attend Ed Kennett sruggles badly in Poland at league level, we now have 3 GPs there and Ed is in the GPs, he's going to be made to look crap. Correct. We could have 3 GP riders next season When was the last time a Brit actually qualified for the GP series?
  15. Cardiff obviously. I want to go back to Prague, Silver Bee says I'm going to Torun. We'll argue, fight, discuss and probably do both.
  16. So after the press release telling us they were going to sent out a press release, the press release that most of us said at the time was far too over hyped has proved to be even more over hyped than many of us who said it was over hyped ever thought it could be. LOL
  17. The F1 is not at Silverstone next year and the F1 GP was the week after Cardiff in 2007
  18. A victory for Parsloes and his constant rants about the qualifiers should be more open. Zorro in the GPs after haing Ulamek and Walasek this season are a good arguement for nominations. Just dont let the person who picked Harris and Nicholls pick again!
  19. No. So have many others, other wh have not been kicked out of meetings for reckless riding. Paul Frys been a great ambasador! Fryer for the GPs Wrong, sadly. He only dropped a handful of points there last season.
  20. Be warned, the GP switches tot he red button after an hour, so no pub should be showing it as pubs cannot have red button functionality.
