Swc Round 2 Coventry 14th July
SCB replied to skid row's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
To be fair, Steayd looked far too happy to me last night considering how badly he was doing. I can accept Olly at Brandon but not Stead, shocking. Should be Ed and Tai at Brandon, look tot he future and all that. Ed is going places, I don't think anyone needs me ot tell them Tai is. Steady is only going PL and Olly while I like him is not the future of team GB. -

Hi to you too you "boring old git" You're going to fit in well around here If your Polish and your proud is where my £1 is going Cringeworthy song that was always played at Brandon for a Polish winner and at Brum this season for Stojanowski. Thats why you'll never win with this kind of thing. That said, I have the weirdest, most amazing taste in music and I'd play very little of what I like at a speedway meeting as it just doesn't fit. To me, Cardiff weekend is a big party with a spedway meeting in the middle so a bit of agadoo is just fine I still don't like the songs for the rider on the whole though. Having seen this on Sky last night during the EL meeting, there's Skys/IMGs advert for '09. Bomber, walking back to the pits, the whole back straight apearing to go back and waving flags to Land of Hope and Glory. Amazing. If thats not used for the advert I'll be amazed. -
A GP race cannot be awarded, but that rule was ignored last year when Gollob was impeeded on the last lap, I guess the referee decided to use some common sense on that occasion. Hans did spray Freddie with shale when he was on the ground, so I was glad he come 3rd in the re-run and I was cheering for Hans in that race before his little strop. I doubt Freddie decided to fall off on purpose, his names not Nicki Pedersen

Nicki is theatre, he's what we pay our money for surely? I dislike the guy a fair bit but I'd still happily pay to see him ride but I'll still boo him (I was booing him from the presentation onwards, so it was nice of everyone to copy me ) and I did have a safrican american when Rune Holta made a little bit of contact with him. I go to speedway not only to cheer for riders I like but to give the ones I don't like a bit of stick, it's nothing personal (I don't know Nicki) and there no malice intended. The cheering in the final was poor and the booing after his geat act of sportmanship in the final was a bit off IMO, as I said, I don't like him but even I clapped him for getting off the track. That said, I'll continue to boo him in Prague and he'll thrive on it and play up to it. Nobody will get hurt, nobody will die and nobody is going to lose out becuase of it but I'll have a laugh and hopefully if a few more join in (as they did last night) it'll add to the event. I bet Nicki gave that interview with a huge smile on his face, he loves being the centre of attention, he loves being the bad boy and most of us love him being the bad boy.

I said the same last night. a 4 year old would not have a clue what was meant by the song. If the kid understood the song you have to question their upbringing. Regarding wizard of Oz, that is my only real gripe, it doesn't work IMO. Agadoo and hokey Cokey work, what ever a few boring people who like to sit down at a speedway meeting claim, some of us like to stand, jump and dance. Land of Hope and Glory (BTW, you were in Wales, in speedway the rider compete as Brits, so the "England" songs don't go down well with some But I can accept that Scotty, Bomber and Ed are English) -

Same here. Can I also thank to nice girl just in front of me whos programme I kept stealing. Cheers Luce -
Can't stand they guy, I happily booed him all night but when he was climbing on the podium I thought the booing was poor. The guy had a massive crash yet dragged his bike off the track and it's not the first time he's done it. He plays the system, good for him, it his job to do that.

Generally spot on Respect for the pick of music aimed at Nicki, especially as you're a Nicki fan Made a few of us giggle and at times sit open mouthed and question "Is he really playing that?" BTW, The hockey cokey is hard to do in that stadium Although I think my efforts were appreciated by some -
They always say they've banned airhorns, every year, we always have this discussion a day or two before Cardiff. They won't stop you taking them in.

What The Papers Say.....so Far
SCB replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Agreed. It's brillaint. Speedway should be grabbing hold of Mark Webber and banging on about his love of the sport in an effort to make speedway cool. Sport doesnt get much more cool than F1 so to have an F1 driver interested in speedway should be a big boost. -
Cardiff Programme Query
SCB replied to youngy105's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Buy one on ebay in a few weeks time for £2 -
Change top 4 to top 8 and a few wildcards and whats the difference? Similary, barrow boy, How is your idea any difference to present? Only difference being you have a closed shop therer as you have basically said the top 10 GP riders stay in and as a result the FIM/IMG have less places to pick from. I don't see the probalem with the current format myself. People complained about wildcards when they first introduced them, the 2003 World Champion was a wildcard.

The Mavericks run from 1998-2006. In 1997 they were the Welsh/Western Warrior and were a combined team with Exeter.
-
The Gatekeeper is opposite the main entrance.
-
I was there for the Hans incidents, and Hans turned left on Freddie and fell. I don't know what the Harris incident is
-
Which 3?!
-
He made Hans look silly at Wolves twice on Monday, could not live with him in the GP's. Why? It's not his bikes as he is able to keep up wit (an go faster than) Hans in league racing, yet in a GP he was nowhere near him (Hans 4th, Bomber 3rd from bottom). He left Crumpy for dead at Coventry a few weeks ago and took half a second off the track record. He left Leigh Adams for dead at Swindon a few weeks ago and has got close to the track record twice. Bomber is fact in the EL, he's just not doing it in the GP's Tai is British, he said so in Oz in the winter, he raced in the GB final and he is in the Team GB squad, he was born here so just how much more British do you want him to be? If you can't grasp that FACT, there's little point in arguing about opinion.
-
Bombers bikes are fine. He has a near 11 point average from his last 8 EL meetings. Tai IS British. He roe in the British Final.
-
I won't harm anyone but I'm a pedant and had to point it out
-
Looked good and failed to make the semi-final. Says it all.
-
Maybe he's English?! It was a shocking decision. I don't think Lukas was dirty but he was in the wrong.

The Latest Cardiff advert advertises Cardiff as the 4th round. So far we have had Slovenia Poland, Sweden and now Denmark. Cardiff is 5th
-
ARGHHH!!!! Can someone tell Millard this fact? He's not Norwegian on a Polish license or a Norwegian Pole or a Polish Norwegian or any other little phrase/rubbish he wants to come up with. He is a Polish Pole, a Pole of Poland, he is Polish. He is nothing but Polish.
-
A long way!! I'd estimate about 150-160 miles.
-
Wait until 10 minutes after start time and the touts will be selling tickets for a fiver each. Last year when queuing up outside the ticket office, some thick tout tried to sell us tickets for more than the tickets were were about to buy in the ticket office. First rule of ticket touting, don't try and sell tickets for an event at higher than face value when the ticket office still has 30,000 left I wonder if he ever sold them?!
