I too was under the impression that the reserve could replace any rider (but only one rider and once he had replace him he was unable to replace another rider and the rider replaced could have no more rides. However, having checked the rules, it seems the rider has to be injured to be replaced.

So now we're not allowed an opinion before hand as people complain yet if we have an opinion afterwards we're told it's great with hindsight. This is a discussion forum, so speedway WILL be discussed, amazing that!

I've know idea if they're still doing it but apparently if you ring the university accomodation office they have room available for the night for between £10 and £20. Most of the students have gone now, in my halls of the 12 people on my floor there now only me and 1 other (sort of ) left! If people are intrested, I can go and ask tomorrow.

That doesn't suprise me. He fell out with BSI and quit the GPs and ahs missed a couple of SWC since. Clearly a man of integrity. Just suprised there's not someone younger than Venegas and Hedden who could ride.

I walked past the queue and went to the collectors fair instead, on the way back to the pub the queue had all but gone so in I walked 2 minutes later and I had 4 tickets and had taken the poster from the window

So why Stead? His average over the last 4 weeks is probably about 5, below that of Howe, Kennett, Allen, Louis, Screen, Wright, Lanham(!!!) and Bridger!

Believe me when I say I will be really pleased if Ed scores well next week, will be interesting to see what happens should he only score the usual 3 though won't it? Especially if Olly score well Hopefully and 30 point Bees win with 15 points for Ed and me admitting that Middlo has finally become a speedway genius. I'd have Ed in the 1-5 at just about any other track though. Also, on thinking about it a bit more, Middlo may be onto something, put the risky guys in the 1-5 and the more solid, reliable, unlikely to win a heat but unlikely to come last rider in reserve, that way, if the gamble pays off, great, if it doesn't, you have the insurance back in reserve.

Ed had one poor meeting at Coventry? No, try never had a good one and had about 8-10 poor meetings! He doesn't ride Coventry well, he never has.

Well I have justified my thinking here, so one of two things will happen, Middlo is right and I'm pleased to be wrong, or he's wrong and then people cannot claim hindsight is a wonderful thing

Well Stead and Howe have been around the same amount of time, both were members of the 1997-98 Peterborough CL and PL wonder teams. It was only last season that Steady has ever had a better season than David too. I can accept Olly not riding, I can see the thikning there, he's an on-form reserve and sometimes an out of form heatleader coming good on the day is the way to go but leaving Howe in reserve is an oddity IMO, better season than Stead, Kennett and Richardson, currently on much better form that Stead and just ahead of Kennett (Rico is currently on much better form). I'll be there on the day, they'll all get my support but I'm just worried that Middlo has already started getting things wrong.

Jesus Chris. Who allows this guy to pick the team? Has he ever seen Ed at Brandon? Has he seen David at Brandon this year? David should be in ahead of Ed and Simon on current form.

I'm still confident my 250/1 on him to be World Champion will be made to look like bargain of the century come October 13th. Can I claim I had faith in him? Or am I just mad?

Sums it up. Even with hindsight the Vega gets it wrong. Still, I'm sure he had all his cash on Bomber to win!!!!
