Bookies Giving Money Away
SCB replied to bosnian's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Another was during play of the Oxford Wolves meeting they had Wolves -2 when Ales crashed. Ok Wolves were at that point 4 down but with only Todd to win heats that -2 look like a bargin and so it proved!! -

But as long as Australia or Poland win, you're guarenteed to win. As the Brits have no chance of winning, it looks good. TBH, I can't see the Poles lossing, so no need to waste any money on the Aussies. I bet the professional gamblers are playing this game, betting on the Poles at 8/5 and the Aussies at 6/4 -
Loram did not in 1999. I think Mark was actually 5th after missing a GP.

I see he is riding with Frank, hows he these days? Last things I heard was that he is a dad again and long before that he had an accident at work with some machienery and damaged his hand.

Middlo Is Another Sven
SCB replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yeah, listen to Steve Hone In fairness, I have no problem with the Flag of St George being flown, the rider are after all all English at present. Just don't like them being called England! -
I may have something for you later! Just have to scan it in! Warn you now, getting picture of the Moran brothers in BV colours is bloody hard! I tried for a long time.

A la Hans Andersen a couple of season ago? Top scored, leading the final and stopped. -

Personally, I'd have picked both Rory and Adam over Ryan Sullivan! -
Some nasty sounding injuries there between them but as Vince says, they're young and will heal soon. Best Wishes to all rider who suffered injuries today.

Like ASL freight?! Never helped Hans tho did it?

One thing you could guarentee with RR in charge, the oldies would get the team places and not the youngsters. It's a Ronnie Russell policy I swear! Whats Tim Sugar up to these days (a part from writing to the Speedway Star)? -
Erm, my point was there is a Scandinavian who deserves it more than any Swede. in much the same way there are non-Welsh Brits (English) riders who deserve the British GP wildcard more (tho I still think Phil Morris should have a wildcard/reserve slot!!)

So you think Newport should rename the Mavericks to the Cardiff Dragons? It not going to fool the people of Cardiff, they know they're still Newport as they ride in Newport. Who do you think you're going to fool? If Newport closed down and in a few years time someone opened up Cardiff and had "Newport Wasps" riding in the second half I'd laugh at them and no way would I support them as my team!
-
So why run an Oz championship if a guy who doesn't ride in it can still be refered to as, "undisputed number one"? Surely as current Australian Champion, Leigh Adams is "Australias number 1"? Though as the best Aussie in the GP's, Jason is number 1? So as I see it, at the very least it's disputable as to who is Australian number 1!

I believe the last track where you could get that close shut down at the end of last season Exeters 4th bend/start of the home straight had no barrier (other than the solid metal fence) between riders and fans. The best thing was that due to the shape of the track it was almost as if the rider were heading straight for you until they flicked the bike at the last second.

Round 1 + 2 Line-ups Announced

This was always going to be a difficult choice IMO. Harder than previous years where we've had injuries so veyr little pressure to succeed and other yeras where we've had the obvious 5. In the past people have still found fault with the fact Middlo has not used the youngsters and sued the Danes as an example (in the past they've left out a couple of older guys for young guns who have upped their game and are now automatic choices for them). I thikn there were only 3 guarenteed places (what ever Lee Richardson says) and that was Scott Nicholls, Mark Loram and Simon Stead. After that we have Louis, Richardson, Harris and Norris. Norris probably losses out as he's not exaclty flying (althought you can never count him out) and he's not young so you don't have the "building for the future" arguement. So it comes down to Richardson, Harris and Louis and TBH, I'd have Lee Richardson in my Team GB team every time, the guy has never ONCE let us down in a SWC. Everyon bangs on about Scotty being GB's number 1 and Loram being GB's number 1 but in the SWC GB's number 1 IS Lee Richardson. Harris or Louis? Youtn or experience? Thats what this has come down to. Two completly different rider, old and young, racer and more of a thikner. Go with Louis and everyone says, "Why have 2 guys in their mid-30 and leave out the young kids, we'll never get anyhere with that attitude" where as have Harris and you get, "Why nt have the on form old gu who is scoring points for fun at the moment, it's no good givgin them experience for the future if you keep thorwing away todays points by leaving out the rider who can score points". For Once, I'd absolutly hate to be Middlo, what ever he did was wrong and I can see it from both sides TBH Who would I have picked? I don't really know, I think I'd just give Louis the edge at Smallmead BUT I might put him in for Stead not Harris then!!! -
Yet they have Englishmen at the British GP, so they should surely have a Scandinavian at the Scandinavian GP (not just a Swede as its in Sweden).
-
So whos riding now? It was Kennett and Richardson but now David howe has bene mentioned. Do we have 3 places?
-
I'm already working out how to fit him in, I think sacking Schrammy, Tony and Neil is the best way
-
Kitten, get her a childs ticket! They're not going to check her age, if they do, tell her to take a year off her date of birth and she'll be fine.

I thought he was saying he lost in a hard race and for every hard race he losses, he wins one. Nothing to do with Bjarne being hard. Greg couldnt' do dirty if he tried, remember the heat Nicki stuck him in the fence in a GP? In the re-run he just rode past him and moved over a little, Crumpy and nicki would have laughted at that!
-
HAd you seen the fianl you's not say that!!! Crumpy was in the 4th bend fence on lap 1 after trying the big blast and managed to come back form a reasonbale disatnce behind Hans to be fishing 20 foot on the line. Still makes Hans the biggets winner over Crump in the GP's this year! Nick only beat Crumpy by about 5 foot! Peanuts I now love Hans Andersen!!!!! SWC 2003ish, who cares, Danish GP 2006 is all that matters! The guy is a legend. Must add, very pelased to see Lee Richardson make the semis, ok it's the final that counts but small steps, lets hope it's the final next time. Proved he's not an also ran tonight IMO.
