  1. The Prince of Wales (Wetherspoons) is the normal forum meet up point. As well as Sams Bar (now Zync). Last year we took over the outside area of the PoW from about mid-day onwards. I assume that where we'll be this year as well. Only problem is queueing time for a drink is longer than it takes to drink and drink so you have to re-join the queue at the back as soon as you buy a drink!
  2. A verbal contract, someone asked him to ride, he agreed. Nothing has been signed or verbally agreed for the British Final so he does not ride. Why do you need a computer system to see who has signed the contract? someone has found it, just what would this magical computer system add? Or maybe, they do have a computer system and thats whats found out he has not signed the contract. Why should someone phone Mark and tell him he has not signed the contract? He has for 3 years now not signed it!!! Not a mistake, Mark does NOT want to sign it, he has to decide what he wants.
  3. Mark Lorams attitude to his contract that he made the choice NOt to sign leaves a lot to be desired.
  4. Didnt he retire as his wife/partner had a baby? Also, didn't he ride in a meeting or two as a replacement for Simon Stead in 2004?
  5. The traffic out of Cardiff is terrible. Might be better parking in Newport (car park opposite the train station does not close until 1.30) and getting a train to Cardiff. From memory it's about £3 for a return ticket and £4.50 for upto 24 hours in the car park. Whe you consider the Cardiff car park is twice as much anyway...... At least by the time you get onto the M4 people have started to settle down a little and they should be moving constantly so no infuriating tapping on the steering wheel and trying to see if the traffic is moving ahead! Either that, or park in Cardiff and try and avoid the motorway as far back as Newport, probably not the cleverest idea. I'd also suggesting being a little weary of the A449/M50 route (basically for midlands and up north) on the way home as there are road works on the A449 just before Monmouth where the road is down to 1 lane, both times when I have gone up to Coventry in the last month I have been stuck in traffic there. It MIGHT be better to stick to the M4 and come off at the M5 and go up that way (it's not as if you have to pay for the bridge to get back into England, or else nobody would leave). Add a few miles to the journey (but in the grand scheme of things it's very little, about 8 miles I think) but could save you an hour. Anyone know where I can buy airhorns online? The Newport trakc shop has closed, only other option is to go and by a electric pump and a battery, which actually might not be such a bad idea!
  6. Even by your standards thats long!! Certainly an intresting read
  7. Almost ready for the Conference League then!!
  8. You bloody tight arse!! <runs and hides, will someone shout when it's clear to come out of hiding, please?>
  9. Buy them on the day, saves a lot of worrying! It's not as if you get a nbetter seat by ordering 6 months in advance, every seat is brilliant.
  10. Try hotels in Newport, only a 10 minute train ride away and you'll also have the fun of squashing onto a train with hundreds of other speedway fans after the meeting.
  11. That was in the afternoon, you have already said your lad was kicked out in the evening.
  12. It's a legal thing, nothing to do with bar staff being awkward and not wanting pesky kids around.
  13. Newport vs Glasgow. Friday at 6pm. Always a good meeting between Newport and Glasgow as well as a bit of aggro! It might suprise you but during the World Cup, half of Wales supports England!
  14. Ok, so they say, "we won't give them the points they scored, we'll give them 14 and 11 points". So what if one of them riders has score 15? He loses points! So give them 17 and 16? They get more than they would have done for making the final! If you come 8th, why do you suddenly deserve a much more bigger score than the guy in 9th? If you were only 1 point better, you were only one point better, making the semi does not suddenly make you a muc better rider and/or him a failure!
  15. Yes, there's park and rides in Cardiff every weekend. Another option, would be to park in Newport, cross the road to the train station and get the train to Cardiff.
  16. You missed heat 17 then? Nicki clearly rolled!
  17. Agree with others, loads of riders seemed to be doing it. I noticed Zagar do it once as well, had Zagar been excluded Lee would have been in the semi, Nicki grasstracking didn't effect the result. The ref was poor, 3 riders jumped the start and loads crossed the white line. Who was the ref?
  18. So will only do better when he is riding well, if that was bad. Ride badly come 2nd imagine he rode well? Agreed. So rode well, come 4th, imagine he had rode as badly as Crumpy, he'd have been one of the first into the showers!
  19. I said, "almost dirty". Crumpy was very close to the line but I will admit I was shouting at the tele for Crumpy to send Nicki wide!
  20. Cardiff evened things out a bit then, 2 dodgy exclusions. 1 fair I'll admit.
