  1. Yeah, they should spend £1000's hiring the latest pop acts!! It's a bloody speedway meeting, not a pop concert!
  2. Possibly because the Slovenians have given the best Slovenian rider a chance instead.
  3. I always said Rabbit was a sensible level header person
  4. If you want to park, leave the week before the meeting!
  5. Ok, I think her whole repotoire (list of songs) has bene mentioned, definatly all the ones I know and more. Moan time. How muhc of my £29 will go on paying for this past it, clapped out old has been to warble (probably even bloody mime) pre-meeting? I'd prefer to pay £28.50 and her not to be there. It's a speedway meeting for God sake, not a bloody AOP's pop/rock/jiving concert! If they really want someone local who will get the youngster in, get GLC! I'm staying in the PoW with Rabbit (I bet she thinking Bonnie Tyler is not such a bad proposition now!) and the other who have no intrest in listening to someone miming. Probbaly not even her, probably a look a-like who'll be miming, nobody would know! Shame Edwin Starr is dead, he was the best pre-meeting entertainment at Cardiff, a despite being a "living legend" (now a dead legend), I had never heard of him before that day and have only heard of him once since. Can we have the Samba Ants back too? So they can fall over. How about a speedway mascots race? The King's Lynn Star vs the Reading Bulldog, any others?

    65 - 13

Well..... Exeter beat Glasgow 75-15 as Bryn has pointed out, the following week they went into heat 15 against Glasgow with the scores set at 70-14 (so 29 consecutive heats). Exeter put both reserves (Bobby Eldridge and Chris Harris) out against Scott Swain and AN Other. Sadly for Exeter, Scott Swain (not even a glasgow rider, he was a guest!) beat Chris Harris. The following week, they scored 72 against Newport with only Andrew Appleton and Chris Neath scoring any points. So Exeter have gone 29 heats unbeaten, plus any unbeaten heats in the meeting the week before!
  7. There's a site here to the track in Germany! eekkk!
  8. This one is simple for me. Wembley, yes please but not at the expense of Cardiff. Would I go to Wembley? I'm not too sure, I guess I'd have to try it the first time and the magic and romance of it all might drag me back year after year but if they did move from Cardiff to Wembley, I'd not go out of principal. Am I saying that as I live down the road? Well no, because for a start, I did not get home and to bed until gone 2 last year on GP night by the time I got the train home and then walked from the train to home (via the curry house I'll admit). Where as a GP at Wembley and assuming it's finished by 9.30, I'd be home before 2 but thats it, over, finished, ended. Caridff on the other hand I still have another day to look forward to on the Sunday. Newport with more drinking or Newport then Swindon without the drinking. Got to be honest, I do like the having my own place (or places, I'm greedy) and being able to speak to the same people every week and would not like to have someone different SAT next to me every week. That said, I'd love to be sat in a stadium every week with that sort of atmosphere but I'd have to go i with friends so we were sat together.
  9. I can only see one winner. Tony Rickardsson. Crump 2nd but I'm not so sure about Nicki Pedersen getting 3rd. I think Jarek Hampel will get into the top 5 this season and shock a few and like one or two others have said, I think Lee Richardson will be a better rider than Nicholls and this season could be the one where he comes good and I'm going to say he'll make the top 8.
  10. I tried staying away a couple of year ago. I failed on the day and ended up going You can't miss Cardiff, it's just not possible, unless you're either not a speedway fans or you're not human! Even my mum, the non-speedway fans who does not read this forum loves Cardiff GP day and mixing with the forum lot in the afternoon before seeing some speedway.
  11. Would it not have made more sense to say the ruling would be put in place on say 1st November 2006. Giving mums and dads a chance to do somthing about it?
  12. What a star this guy was. There were always rumours about him signing for Newport, sadly he never did.
  13. I'm the same as Rabbit. I don't mind admitting in a GP I'll cheer for Crumpy and next seaosn PUK but when they come up against Lee Richardsson and Scott Nicholls (two rider I do like I'll admit, but not as much as I like Crumpy and Puk) I'll chear for Scott and Lee. My favourite rider is Craig Watson but if he was in a GP final along side Nicholls, Richardson and Loram I'd want him to come last. Im Welsh/British first.
  14. Only £50 to be a VIP?! £10 for the cheap tickets Bargin! How much is a flight to Latvia?
  15. It does seem a bit OTT to me too. At the end of the day, these guys ARE the ones taking the risks so should have a choice as to if they ride or not. Why not start the meeting, let them sit out the meeting and when the meeting goes ahead just fine they'll look silly, however, if the meeting is a farce with falls left, right and centre then the rider sitting in the pits are sit back and smile and feel there decision is justified.
  16. Well surely Todd has to put that new bike to use?! Good to see Wato back to his best (although we're told it's still on 80% ) and beating the rider the Newport fans know he can.
  17. I can give you Watos results, as posted on the Newport forum by his sister.
  18. Whats the standing area like? Am I likely to be able to see anything? Should I pay the extra for seating (bearing in mind I prefer to stand up anyway) to eb able to see anything? edit, what a naff system they have on their website. Is it worth taking a chance and buying on the day?
  19. It was great to watch the juniors. They all seemed to enjoy winning, while showing great disapointment when lossing but they ALWAYS had time for the opposition and congratulated them. They conducted themselves well IMO. Highlight of the Under 15 for me was George Pipers tantrum when he fell off and got 5-0'd, when he's old enough I want him to ride for Newport if he is that keen to win. With a will to win lke that he should go a long way.
  20. They aint playing games are they! Thats osme tidy stadium and IMO, puts all British stadiums to shame!
  21. HenryWs post is spot on, from what I can remember. There was a meeting in Le Stade de Frace circa November 2002. Paul Hurry (I think) rode in it. I was a watching the Race of Champions on Eurosport the other day from there, they already had the ideal speedway track in there, they only had to remove the chicanes.
  22. Reading did the Northern tour by bus/coach in 2001.
  23. Which if you read, is what has happened. They were not to know that my friend had been to Cardiff. I could go and ask some random neighbours if they have had one too if you like? Just to make sure?!
