  1. My suggestion would be to search further afield and try Newport and Cwmbran. 10 miles down the motorway and probably your best bet now.
  2. Sky have exclusive commercial rights. Some fan taking a photo for personal use is not commercial.
  3. Aparently, you can take picture of young kids. Bit of an extreme reaction if you ask me as I could go and stand in the street and take pictures of young kids! TBH, I'd quite happily show my photos to any official after a meeting to prove I had nothing dodgy on there, let be honest, anyone taking photos these days has a digi-camera anyway so can prove what pictures they have. Anyone caught with anything dodgy is detaned and the police called. Newport speedway really don't seem to care, I counted about 8 people with cameras at the sidecars today, there were only about 150 spectators in total!!
  4. They do leave the roof open, a but any way. They definatly did in 2002 (the season Sullivan won) as the rain was getting on the track on the straight. I'm guessing they'd prefer to keep the noise in as much as possible yet have to open it a little to let the fumes out.
  5. I've never been searched, none of my family have ever been searched either and I tend to go in speratly from them so they can't search that many people for bottles! They don't seem to mind speedway fans taking in air horns or flag poles so I can't see how they'd have a problem with bottled drinks, they can't cause any more harm than an air horn!
  6. The one year it rained on the Friday (Newport was rained off), we had a lovely Saturday until mid-meeting when it rained and the straighs on the track got wet, but not the bends!! and then on the Sunday it rained again and NEwport was postponed for an hour!
  7. Beatsie, thats not really the issue. Plus how many times have you bene to Cardiff now? Or watched on the tele? As the rider race around lots of flashes lead them around as everyone is taking photos (why the hell do people sue a flash? totally useless!) The problem is some new law aparently that says you are not allowed to take photos at public events, like football and speedway meeting. Personally, I'll probably take my 5 year old point and shoot digi-cam and get some photos of the non-racing stuff. Might be worth giving the stadium a ring, I did about airhorns the first year.
  8. I'll be there with the rest if the family, thats 4 of us. 40,000 seems to be about it's level, it may fluctuate by 2,000 either way but i think it's unrealistic to expect any more to be there.
  9. It can't be too hot, I have to wear my jumper!!! DAMN! Might have to go back to my old faithful Welsh shirt, I'm sure rabbit will be pleased.
  10. No, make it the full half an hour, I don't want to be queuing for a drink during the whole autogrpah session, half an hour should mean I don't miss it!
  11. I will be wearing the jumper Chivs, that would make the day perfect.
  12. They've not mentioned any autograph session this year
  13. Well if you will try driving into Cardiff on the motorway with 72,000 football fans, you will get stuck in traffic!! TBH, I'd advise parking in Bristol or Newport and getting the train in. I would not head for the train station, unless you fancy a 30-45 minute walk! You want junction 24 from the M4 and follow the signs for "Newport Centre" until you see the brown signs for "Newport Speedway, Trac Racio". If you want the train station, head for Newport centre.
  14. Well scrap the semi then! Why should the rider get more? The whole point of the semi is to get to the final, not score points. The riders in the semi are already separated by their race points. My point about the rider in 15th getting a point more than the guy in 16th is surely no less valid than you point that the guy in 3rd in the semi should get a point. No point getting touchy and losing intrest because someone doesn't agree with you! The rider in 3rd place has score 15, he gets a point so has 16 points, thats the same as the guy that comes last in the final, is that fair?
  15. Puk is better tham Protasaweicz, so Protasaweicz should be the one to go.
  16. Last active? Steves obviously only gone on holiday this afternoon!
  17. Vog, you hold him down and I'll hit him with my handbag!
  18. Shouldnt the guy in 15th get a point because he beat the guy in 16th?
  19. Just imagine Scott qualifies by finishing in the top 8!! He is currently joint 9th, but TRick is 7th! Yeah, Zagar is so off the pace he is in 5th place, shocking, who the hell gave him a wildcard!! Bloody BSI, what are they doing?
  20. No, quote of the night, no, quote of the season, no, quote of the millenium was, "He's got loads of natural talent, he's had it 3 or 4 years now". So there you go guys, Sam, Ermelenko thinks Simon Stead is 3 or 4 years old!!! According to this forum the following riders should not be in the GPs.... Lee Richardson Scott "two semi-finals" Nicholls (who intrestingly has had 2 better GP than the World Champion!) Bjarne Pedersen Niels Kristian Iversen Antonio Lindback Piotr Protasiewicz So you lot only think the top 8 and Andreas "same number of points as Scott Nicholls" Jonsson should be in the GP's? Why not just go with a 10 rider format, as that lot and Hans Andersen can ride then! Believe it or not, if you have a meeting with 16 riders, 5 riders will come in the bottom 5, who ever the riders are or whatever the format is! Are there really 6 riders better than the 6 mentioned? I'd say Ahns Andersen is one and PK is another, struggling a bit after that as Bjerre (a rider mentioned) is definatly not, look at his league form! Krys Kasprzak and Fredddie Lindgren could probably argue a case too, but I don't think they're "better" just the same, on some tracks you'd bebetter with Richardson and Protasiewicz, others and you'd be betetr with Kasprzak and Lindgren. If you did put Kasprzak, Lindgren, Karlsson, Andersen and Bjerre in for the riders named above, someone would come last, would you then argue they should be dropped for Scott Nicholls? Maybe the last 2 in each GP should be dropped and replaced by someone else, how you would determine "someone else" I don't know but at least the last couple of riders would always be a bit different. I guess it would come down to BSI picking riders, maybe even having the odd meeting for riders to show their worth. BTW, take out the retiring Tony Rickardsson and Scott Nicholls is joiny 8th (well 9th by virue of the fact AJ has had a higher scoring round than Scott), so he may well be back next season on merit, if he carries on his current form!! How this forum would love that!
  21. Yeah because the other put in no effort at all?! Greg didn't pass anyone today but was passed once, clearly no effort from him! Just because they're not the best riders does not mean they put in no effort! If you put them riders in, 4 other ridewrs will finish in the bottom 4, will you be calling for their heads too? That said, I'd swap Hans for Lee and I'm not a fan of Hans and I am of Lee!
  22. Crumpy 2006 = TRick 2005? A machine!! He's playing the system, gettign into the semis with a good solid score, then riding a sensible race in the semi before blasting off for the win in the final. Like Subedei, I feel for Greg, he really did wind back the clock and give a vintage Greg display tonight, someone shoudl tell Greg and Tomasz it's 2006, not the mid to late 90s!!! They're both going through a good patch and I hope it carries on, I'd love to see Jason, Greg and Tomasz on the podium at the end of the year, just a shame Nicki is likely to stop one of them.
  23. To win it, no chance, E/W maybe, but 3 GPs in a row? Might be a bit too much this season.
