EDIT, ARGH DAMN TRIPOD!! When you download it, it doesn't open as Tripod wont allow it!
That really annoys me.
I am a Puk fan but even I cheered everything he was at he back (behind the Brits!) and I know Shortoi was shouting for Ales(?) Dryml when he was out against Charlie Gjedde and our rider was in the lead, just as we should do.
Erm, like a Pole excluded a Pole in Poland in the first SWC final?!
Not lucky at all, bloody clever management (I would say that as I had already said to dad that I'd do the same ) and to me it was clearly Hampel was going though the motions.
Poles to win it but the Danes will be close, the Aussies will be behind and will use the joker and sneak past the Danes who are unable to use the joker and show the joker up for the pathetic rule it really is.
Nothing. They just didn't talk up the team that come last
Can you imagine someone watching for the first time and the commetators saying, "Well done to the lad at the back, he didn't score but didn't he do well?". They were last, end of, they didn't excel or do more than someone expected.
The Brits love a loser and this proves it!
What is it about society these days? Why do we always have to "big up" the lossers?! No the Germans did not make idiots of themselves and my dad commented on how well they rode and I agree they did do well but lets be honest, they were not exactly in the meeting and had not effect on the meeting really.
Why do we have to praise everyone? It's a British thing, love a losser (the team/person who does not win if you prefer) but why?
But it did stop Poland winning the meeting, didn't it? As it meant Poland had 0 chance of the win when Adams won, had Gollob won, there was a smallish chance Poland would win, after all, Tommy G had already beat "The Big T" (copyright Dave Norris ) so may well have done in the run off.
The point is, Adams slipped up and didn't give the Poles a chance, so Sweden were handed the win, had Adams NOT won, the Swedes would not have been guarenteed the win as they'd have had to go to the run off so nobody would have been handed the win.
If we're talking about technicalities, read the post
Smolinski got a flier where as PK and Gollob missed the start. PK went wide and got moved out of the way, Gollob went under Adams and on the 4th bend all 4 riders were side by side but by the time they entered the 1st bend, Smoli was leading wit PK and Gollob battling away behind him and Adams behind them all. Then for the next 3 laps, Gollob and Adams raced side by side, passing and re-passing and every now and again dropping behind Smoli. On the line Adams JUST got the win to stop Poland winning the meeting and handing the win to the Swedes.
The Poles nearly did it.
Almost perfect tactics from Poland and Boycey/Australia have messed up, who woudl you prefer in the race off in Poland? Sweden or Poland? I'd prefer Sweden so Adams should have let Gollob have the win in heat 25.
