  1. While I agree with that, we can only judge so far on what we have an IMO, it's very good, close to excellent. I think it would take a massive cock up now to mess this team up. Even the rumoured Garrity/Kerr/Sarj wouldn't be terrible. He rode a fair few and had a pretty good record in heats 15 the last 2 season, something he always struggled with before signing for the Bees.
  2. Really pleased with the team so for. The Bjerre IMO are absolute bargains and capable of improving their averages. Bates will be one of the better reserves and King is pretty solid. Keep this up and we should have a very good team.
  3. If Richard Hall had a NL average from 2005 or whatever it was then Boxall has one form a couple of years ago at Kent. Must be about 10.5?
  4. Speedway rider in not re-signed for the following season shocker. It happens all the time.
  5. 1. There is no room for sentiment in pro-sport 2. Matt Ford of all people knows this. He is one of the least loyal promoters 3. Holder wasn't loyal when he decided to take a year out a few seasons back. 4. Life sucks, speedway even more so!
  6. Maybe your teams going to be built without a 2 pointer. Coventry for example are rumoured to be having Sarj and Bates in reserve. Maybe Somerset are going down a similar route. No 10+ men but also no sub 5 pointers.
  7. As 2 pointers go, Shanes is a decent call. And is thrill a minute to even if he struggles to score a point and doesn't score a single point he'll entertain you trying and be no worse a signing than Jason Doyle is for Swindon who is going to lose 2 points!
  8. If I had to describe Josh Bates in a word, I'd struggle between nutjob (in a nice way) and inconsistent. You could see him struggle to beat draft riders one week and then beat Jason Doyle in heat 15 the week after. But for me, a rider who DOES beat Jason Doyle clearly has "it" and it's about getting consistency out of him. A 5 point man who only ever beat sub 5 point men but never beats 6 point men is at his level. Joshs temperament can sometimes aid him, other times its a massive handicap but he has years to learn to handle it. I don't know about for Sheffield but I know he pulled some great rides out of the bag for the Bees when we needed him to and the chips were down, that's not a number 7s job but he still did it! His scores also seem to get better as a meeting progresses, he seems to thrive on a slicker track. Something that was nice when you had King, Garrity and Harris in the team who tend to do the opposite if anything. I think last year for Sheffield was more a year of consolidation, he moved up into the 1-5 so while his average dropped a little, he didn't have the easier reserve rides. While for Coventry he did pick up his EL form and did move into the 1-5 for a spell. Not a massive season for him but far from a bad one. If Sheffield and Coventry don't have him back I expect plenty of other clubs will take him without a moments hessitation!
  9. As Laurence will confirm, I've given him a bit of stick over the years but there are not many with his passion for helping the sport at grass roots/NL level. You can be sure the guy will be giving it his all to make Plymouth a success - and for Laurence, Mark and all the fans who have suffered over the last few seasons I hope it all goes well!
  10. Bewley would be mad to sign for team where he would start in the 1-5 when pretty much any other team he'd start in reserve and allow him to rakc up some big points and thus money in the first few weeks. That said if Glasgow pay him more than any other club..... And his last 10 meeting he was averaging 6+ last season so he'll be in the 1-5 of any team very soon.
  11. All but one of the pairs has been named by someone. I've listed them in the first post with the name of the first person to name the pair. I'm too lazy to count all your answers but by all mans post how many you got. Lets see who can get the last pair. 1 member of the pair has not been mentioned at all on here but the other has. Heat leader and a reserve.
  12. Reserve are as important now as they have ever been. Very few teams have won anything without a good reserve. Edinburgh 2015 is about the exception I can think of.
  13. Thats what I'm hoping for! Have Jack Parkinson-Blackburn as #7 Not happening though.
  14. I don't think Harris has any issues about riding Saturday and then Poland Sunday. The guy just wants to race his bike! He'll go where ever he has to, when ever he has to.
  15. Weird team this. In Berge I think Berwick have a star in the making, theres something there IMO. Ive only ever heard good things about Liam Carr and his averages goes the right way every year. But the rest is a bit unispiring but equally it's not going to let you down and maybe thats the answer? Solid with a few bright sparks, probably going to be in the top half of the table rather than the bottom.
  16. Oi, it's a bit of fun. Not arguing I'll post any correctly guessed answers later tonight so you all get another 10-12 hours of guessing.
  17. Another rider with Coventry connections.
  18. I know Im 3 weeks behind but Ive only just picked up on this updating speedway-stats.co.uk Firstly, the referee messed up, as the error had not been flagged in time then Shanes should have been allowed to ride. However, once he was (illegally) stopped from riding, Birmingham should have switched R/R to number 1 and used the blank at #2, it would have allowed Tom Perry an extra ride. Possibly making no difference but would have given more options. In short a totally cock up from both teams and the referee.
  19. Good. It shouldn't have been recalculated. It was a fairly attained average and is correct.
  20. Which pairs got the most 5-1s. 1 Ludvig Lindgren & Matej Kus - 30 - Panthers89 2 Danny King & James Sarjeant - 28 - baldyman 3 Charles Wright & Paul Starke - 22 - Panthers89 4 Josh Grajczonek & Rohan Tungate - 20 - Panthers89 5 Morten Risager & Nicolas Covatti - 19 - allthegearbutnaeidea 6= Jake Allen & Josh Grajczonek - 18 - Panthers89 6= Dimitri Berge & Simon Stead - 18 - PTW 8= Robert Lambert & Steve Worrall - 14 - Panthers89 8= Erik Riss & Sam Masters - 14 - Panthers89 8= Nike Lunna & Richard Lawson - 14 - allthegearbutnaeidea 8= Rene Bach & Richie Worrall - 14 - Panthers89 8= Aaron Summers & Coty Garcia - 14 - allthegearbutnaeidea League, cup, trophy & play-offs
  21. There is no difference. A rider DOES NOT get a reduction for not riding for two season. It's 3 seasons minimum. There have been many riders over the years come out of retirement, they get no reduction. Why should Adam be different?
