Im fairly sure that the year Pawlicki was a heat leader for the Bees he was riding Polish 3rd division. He's doing alright for himself. Ultimatum, just being in Poland will be more likely to get him noticed than riding at Scunthorpe, Sheffield, Berwick and Ipswich.

Makes me laugh when people moan about how hard to get a team place. The EL has 7 more team places this year, its easier to get a job!
-
In theory yeah. But in practice only anyone over 12 is guaranteed to drop. As soon as you sign anyone on over 12 you're throwing points away. It's madness. You're 100% totally guaranteeing lost points. Tungate and Grajczonek may look poor value but there is at least some change (admittedly slim) of them maintaining their average. I wouldn't go near anyone over 11 personally.

One of the best away riders in the 2016 EL. A very good signing. A good man to have in the pits too.

British Based Polish League Team?
SCB replied to Knightime's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It would be 4 Brits. Daugavplis have to have 4 Latvians. I believe the rule is 4 local riders. But the PZM is not a pirate competition, the PZM is affiliated to the FIM. The issue with pirate competitions is you can refuse to employ riders competing in it, good luck to the SCB/ACU/BSPA banning anyone riding in PZM meetings -
Jacobs' average was attained at Ipswich, not BV. So it's as valid as every other rider who rode PL. In fact with most riders averages going up for this coming season, I'd say Jacobs' staying the same actually makes him something of a bargain especially if he stays at BV.
-
If King signs, great. If he doesn't, so what? I wouldn't get too hung up on him signing or not. Theres going to be so many 8-10 point men that we really don't have to worry.

£18 admission?! RIP British Speedway. With the league getting about 25% weaker I was expecting to pay less not more! If EL club think they can weaken the product by ~25% but charge more than £15 I think they're in for a shock! The premiership is a glorified Premier League now.
-
Money is often owed but not at the level that BV owe money. They paid zero rent to MCC, Zero of the highest rent is a staggering difference.
-
Grajczonek over Harris?! Haha. At least Kurtz is 1.5 points lower and improving. But Grajczonek is terrible value compared to the likes of Harris. Harris' average is so low because he spent all season as a heat leader and scored lots of bonus points.
-
That frankly says more about last season NL eligibility rules than it does the EL this season.
-
Clegg rode NL, can he ride EL on his EL average using your rules? and Joe Jacobs? Ellis has a 7.5ish average, do you not think he'd have achieved that in the PL last season anyway?

The BSPA incorrectly tweeted and released the news that Workington could be in the "Premiership" they clearly meant the Championship.

Darcy Ward Says No Holder At Poole No Me At Poole
SCB replied to robert72's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I like getting a dig in a Ward where ever possible but even I think people are reading this wrong. I don't think he meant it in the way that the OP has read it. -
No they didn't. They got kicked out of the stadium for refusing to pay any rent.

So, - Hans was announced last year on a two year deal, making him Pooles first signing for 2017 - Jack Holder was announced this week as Poole first signing But if Hans Andersen was already signed and announced for 2017 then the announcement that Holder was first signing wasn't true, as Hans was*. Why is this so hard to understand? *Unless Hans wasn't signed on a two year deal and is actually Pooles second signing because he has agreed terms and signed AFTER Jack Holder, making last years announcement of a two year deal wrong. So that was a lie. Either way, one of the two statements MUST be a lie, Poole have announced two first signing, one of them must be wrong.
-
But in terms of his average (20 meetings) it was 2 as heat leader, 3 in reserve, 15 as second string. Only failed to get a (paid) win in 5 of them 20 meetings, nor bad going at all! Actually looking at his scores, as long as you don't have to ride against BV too often he's a great signing. He had 4 poor meetings vs BV!

Legally thats not how it works at all. I don't know why/how but if you rent a house and it starts failing down/failing/isn't fit for habitation you still have to pay the rent and then sue the landlord for your costs. If you withhold rent for ANY reason on a property then the landlord can sue you and the courts will find in his favour, even if you counter sue. Now how it works with commercial property I don't know, it's very different from residential property so probably not the best example to use!

British Based Polish League Team?
SCB replied to Knightime's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Most people seem to be assuming you'd go straight into the Polish EL. Good luck. You'd have to start in the lower leagues and gain promotion. So in that respect it would be a nice trial as you would slowly build up, there second division is probably EL (as in old EL, not new Premiership) levels and then if you won that you could apply for their EL. I wonder what the cost are of the Polish 2nd division? Looking at the difference in teams somewhere between not a lot and an awful lot seems to be the case! If you need 4 Brits though, it could be bloody expensive as the top 4 Brit know they can demand what they like. You would need Woffy in your team really, and he'd know it. Imagine having to go into a Polish EL meeting with 4 Brits other than Woffy, Lambert I'm sure would cope in the next year or two but after that? Harris, Nicholls, King, Bridger and Cook have all failed in the EL or are too old these days. -
Matt said Hans had a two year deal. Matt has announced someone else as your first signing for 2017. So Matt Ford is the liar, one of them statements is a lie. Either Hans didnt sign a two year deal or Jack Holder is not your first signing. This ties in perfectly with what both KevH and myself have said.
-
Sign Holder and you know straight for the off you have wasted at least half a point even if he has the perfect season. At least if you sign Fricke, King, Garrity etc while it would be difficult for them to maintain their average it's not impossible.
-
Makes me LOL people saying Matt Fords team building is wrong. The guy wins league titles for fun! 1 bad season in what, 18 years? I think he knows how to make the most of the rules in any given season!
-
People seem to be confusing a multi-year permit and a multi-year contract. Interestingly Poole have announced their "first" signing, Jack Holder. But last year announced Hans Andersen on a 2 year deal, so clearly 2 year deals are media/PR bollocks!
-
Ford is right, if you sign a 12.5 rider you are 100% guaranteed his average will drop. Yet if you sign riders on 2-10 there is at least some chance they will maintain or even increase averages. Why start KNOWING you going to lose points? At first I thought it made sense to get two big names and see their average drop but it seems the point limit will change once a team gets new averages so that doesn't make sense.

British Based Polish League Team?
SCB replied to Knightime's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I don't see how the BSPA can stop you affiliating with the Polish league. Would be naff all to do with them.
