There was a meeting on Boxing Day 1985 - Ellesmere Port Past & Present v Inter League Select Tuesday 26th December 1985 (Joe Owen Benefit Meeting). Track was brick hard with some puddles iced over. -
Meeting off - rain

All referees have to take at least one meeting at Plymouth during the season.
-
He was treated as a non arrival with no replacement in his first three rides and a reserve replacement for the fourth ride. SCB left to deal with.

At wedding is what we were told at Armadale.

This meeting appears to have been bumped going by the British Speedway website for a Championship fixture with Glasgow . None of the affected clubs show this on their websites. P*** poor at keeping supporters informed again.

Where tracks have them (Premership and Glasgow that I know of) they are supposed to be used according to the rule book. An instance where a referee suits himself was at Wolverhampton last Monday - Nicholls still gardening off his machine when the two minutes expired and allowed to continue, Bathelor off his machine two minutes expired disqualified straight away. Referee was Wayne Jarvis who for some reason has been allocated the British Final whilst still technically training, i.e. First year running solo.

What rules were being worked to today. Nothing in the programme to tell you. Normanal meetings state that they are run under SCB regulations. Could not have been FIM regulations as today's referee is not an FIM qualified referee. Three Tactical substitutions in the meeting? Was it as someone said to me a Mickey Mouse meeting run under Mickey Mourse rules.

What is the NJL match as there was nothing on the fixture list at the start of the season? Don't know why clubs keep these matches secret?

The scores I gave were those I agreed with the referee who is also the league co-ordinator last night. He obviously adjusted the score later. Where can we find the referee's programme? -

I've given on the night scores. I also believe there may another which will be dealt with by the league co-ordinator which affects the Wildcats' score. -

West Lothian Wilcats 17 Berwick Academy 19 Wildcats : Lewis Millar 7, Lewis Hague 5+1, Rocco Webb 4+2, Josh McPherson 1 Academy : Stene Pijper 9, Gregor Millar 6, Owen Booth 4, Liam Morris 0 Gregor Millar's is not eligible to ride NJL therefore his score is deducted. -
Almost correct but it is 1m outside the white line

Hoping they don't move the Armadale fixture towards the end of August as have a number of hotels booked for southern trip. Wolverhampton, Plymouth, Poole, Sheffield tour arranged.

Will never happen. A move to Shawfield in '96 almost bankrupted Edinburgh. Once bitten twice shy!

edmon replied to edmon's topic in National League Speedway
Gregor did have a bike and was struggling to get it started, as did Keith Maben who tried to help. Don't know if they succeeded. -

Only three devils riders got pass marks and not one was a Scot. Foot and A**e come to mind for the other three. Is the Team Manager too soft, one of the problems? -
