  1. I know last winter it was said he asked for more than Louis was willing to pay him and hence we stuck with king over him instead. No idea if that figure was more than Doyle was getting, that to me sounds somewhat exaggerated and most likely hyperbole but as I say no idea on the actual numbers. he rode well for brummies for the most part last year, was decent in the grand final second leg too guesting for Ellis, solid in the Aussie champs and a decent year on the continent last year, for me he’s a rider who’s career is on a decent upwards trajectory and one id have liked to see back with plenty of room for average improvement.
  2. I would’ve wanted rew in my engine room this coming season
  3. Freddie 8.13 Thorsell 4.50 Rew 6.19 Musielak 6.63 Brennan 7.05 Jeppesen 4.34 Edwards r/s 36.84 do well that 🤪😂
  4. I mean I think it’s fair enough to allow the new owners to announce the team they’ve signed and running once the sale is complete, appreciate the frustration at how long this protracted sale has now gone on
  5. I for one would be very happy to see Tai lining up for us, absolutely flew around Foxhall on his first visit in years for Sheffield a couple of seasons ago and remarked he’d forgotten how much fun he found the smaller tracks people hate on him and yet complain we don’t have any characters anymore 🤷‍♂️
  6. But perhaps as I said spedeworth wanted surety of who the new tenants were to be before the lease renewal was agreed rather than renew with Chris and allow him sell the club to a nightmare mob that spedeworth had no desire to entertain as tenants but were stuck with due to contractual obligations they've just signed
  7. Perhaps spedeworth were hesitant to renew the lease without surety of who the incoming tenants would be, would make sense that don’t you think 🤷‍♂️
  8. The repeat of the comment “within the next couple of weeks” making me think of the scene in when the sausages were gonna be 2 minutes 5 minutes ago 🤪🤣
  9. So with no announcement beforehand of the sale and new ownership etc who’s running the staff signing on night this evening? Are those in attendance going to be met by CL and sign on yet be kept in the dark about who they’re actually volunteering to work for this season? Or will the new owners be there and everyone have to follow some sort of ritual and be sworn to secrecy until the deal finally goes through? 🫣😂
  10. How about 3/4…? woffy 8.45 lambert 7.81 brennan 7.05 rew 6.19 jenkins/jeppesen 4.46/4.34 3 pointer - Mitch mcdairmaid or gusts be my choices edwards r/s 36.96/36.84 👀😂 Gotta love an elongated silly season 😅😅
  11. Tidy side, would prefer Rew to musielek personally, also if Jenkins isn’t getting the 25% reduction for a second time I’d love to see young Mitch McDairmaid at no.6 very impressed with him when I saw him last season and would fit
  12. I’d be surprised if it’s not picko back at Sheffield tbh, etheridge isn’t exactly a huge trump card on a 3 point average and there’s a good few riders in the 6-7 point average range still unattached who would allow a stronger no.6 would seem a strange strategy to me run with a 3 point number 6 to just allow enough for picko to fit and then not use him - unless there’s a similar average rider available who would come a bit cheaper that they think can outperform him? But I can’t see who that would be? Also wasn’t he quoted in the speedway star earlier this winter as saying Scunthorpe are aware that if it ends up being one big league he’d be pulling out and riding for Sheffield?
  13. He contested 18 races from the no.3 berth at Foxhall in 2025 and won 3, I’m sure he’d improve riding here week in week out but that’s hardly no.1 material, not ardently against him signing for ippo, I’m primarily just hopeful the sale completes without a hitch and we have speedway on Heath in 2026 but lidsey has never been particularly great at Foxhall and is some step down from Doyle/emil at no.1 around here.
  14. Agree with this in all sports really it’s impossible to compare across eras. personally I’d say Rickardsson is the best of the Grand Prix era over zmarzlik based on the level of opposition, Bart has rarely been pushed as hard by genuine rivals for the title, and when he has generally it’s only been one in the form of laguta or Kurtz. Whereas Tony won 6 world titles over crump, Nielsen, pedersen, Hancock to name but a few
  15. Riders coming past while stood on the back straight “hoorah we’re on a 5-1, then as you see them cross the line, hang on they’re on a 5-1??” 🙈😂😂👌👌
  16. He’d be dialled in no time he’s the world no.3!! And he won’t be trying to beat Emil and doyle in their back garden as an away rider
  17. This or I could see Ellis and Scotty Nicholls instead of rew/newcomer comes out at 36.82 👍
  18. Doesn’t have to be Ipswich but I’d love to see a Grand Prix and tight technical track
  19. Kin hell a non Ipswich fan speaking sense and not just persecuting Louis and or the club for fun on this thread! Bravo Mike 👍
  20. The basis of people praising Chris for the professionalism of how the club is run stems from the riders - all of the riders in the last few years to ride for Ipswich have echoed this statement many calling it the best run uk club they’ve worked for, this is where the fans bring these claims from. Your attempt to remove any praise of Chris in terms of the clubs sponsors/backing is kind of amusing, at a speedway club who’s job do you think it might be to go out and get those sponsors to support the club…? Maybe someone titled promoter? People on this forum since day one bemoan promoters only having self interest at heart, not caring about speedway, not actually getting out and promoting it properly, Chris has poured his heart and soul into the witches and worked his arse off promoting the club gaining the support of multiple long term local sponsors, affiliated the witches with Ipswich Town to benefit each club promotionally and yet that’s not a well run club its luck 🤷‍♂️😂 you talk of 30-40% of the clubs expenditure is covered by sponsorship as a negative, but last time I checked every other sport utilises sponsorship doesn’t it? Premier league football clubs raking in £60-100m a year from adidas/nike etc, selling the sleeve and stomach sponsors for millions, premiership rugby wouldn’t exist without huge sponsorship investment, tennis heavily invested with Rolex over the years, golf literally has pga tour events called “The John Deere Classic” “RSM Classic” where do you think the money is coming from for the prize pools in those yep you’ve guessed it - sponsorship!! As a lifelong witches fan I’m beyond gutted with Louis announcement to sadly sell up and walk away but I’m for one grateful for everything he’s done for the club and know the circumstances behind the scenes must be pretty dire for him to make such a decision.
  21. Watched some pretty entertaining content from 0230 this morning courtesy of TnT 🏏
