Why you talking about Ben cook on this thread for?

Leicester Lions 2025

I don’t think masters is on the decline like some have said, I think he’s pretty much the same as he was a few years ago when he was no.1 for wolves, I just think there’s been an influx of higher level heat leaders return to the uk last couple of seasons and he now is more of a 3rd heat leader level in the pecking order -

I mean it’s Lawson’s decision where he rides and he’s chosen to go to Kings Lynn for 2025, not a lot the Leicester promotion can do about that. -
Tbh I think almost every away side is going to be favourite to win heat 1 at lynn, don’t mind the lynn team at all think they’ll be competitive but I struggle to see the consistent heat advantages against the likes of Ipswich/sheffield/belle vue to regularly be winning by 8-12 points

And for me what a sad way to live your life and think about other human beings
-
I think if there are then shame on them. Sad state of affairs! Riders like Doyle and Emil being in British speedway helps the gates on every team they race at so to be pleased they’re out injured when it impacts their own teams revenue seems completely counterintuitive to me. and on a human level why would you take joy in someone else’s injury and loss of earnings and livelihood whatever level of rider that is? I’m certain last years league title would’ve tasted sweeter for every single belle vue fan had it been won over a full strength Ipswich or Sheffield side
-
As a speedway fan I don’t want to see any rider of any team get hurt. I think it’s kind of weird if you want that to happen to weaken an opponent.
-
You eulogise a rider who posted pictures of himself out for a run the day he’d pulled out of a uk meeting injured but question the reliability of Emil and Doyley? 🤡 doesn’t even scratch the surface with your posts on here
-
Yes but if Doyle was not coming back and replaced by Brennan and we didn’t upgrade anyone in the team that would be madness, as much as I love Dan Thompson and think he’s really going places if you’re losing Doyle for Brennan then you’re getting 3 odd points to turn Dan t into a 6-7 point rider in the team and pushing rew to reserve
-
Someone mentioned a while back Rew was asking for more money than Louis would pay him, maybe he hasn’t backed down and Louis has said fair enough see ya
-
The unthinkable of Doyle not being back doesn’t really effect a rew/brennan debate tho does it, if it’s Brennan replacing Doyle then we’re what 4 points under a 40 point limit? That really makes little to zero sense

Sheffield Tigers 2025

I’d say we have bigger crowds at Ipswich than Sheffield, tbh tho it’s immaterial who has the biggest crowds just want to see every club bring in more punters and sponsors and keep speedway going in this country 👍 -
Zach is better than Ben round Foxhall too so could be of benefit in any two legged ties against ipswich - dunno if the same goes for some of the other smaller tracks too?
-
If neither king or Brennan are Ipswich then who’s our 7th rider!?
-
And just like that I’ll be there every week irrespective of the other 6 names on the team sheet!
-
Don’t think I’ve ever seen wright score more than about 7-9 points at Foxhall but maybe your memory serves you better.
-
It’s about 3 years now since you were adamant max fricke would be the top rider in the league and Jason Doyle was in decline how’s that looking!? start of this season Doyle was right in the mix for a world championship challenge before he was injured, this happened in 2016 and in 2017 he was world champion! So we’ll see older yes, but I’m sure he’ll return with the bit between his teeth again in 2025. Emil looked just fine upon return from injury for Toruń.
-
How did belle vue fair against Ipswich in the playoff semis 2023 when we had our top 2 available? 👋👋 Even with an unfit riss and weak replacements at 7.
-
Certainly is, it did improve greatly this season but needs to keep working on it for sure
-
Rew is no gater
-
Agree Edward’s firmly on an upward trend but can’t agree he’s progressed more than Dan t or rowe. dan t went from 4.86 to 7.55 last season in the champ
-
I wouldn’t think Ipswich would move off of Thursdays much either, Thursday has long been their regular race night and crowds are noticeably less on a Monday - albeit that’s probably due to them usually being televised

How many of the world beating polish juniors have developed into top top riders tho? They get huge sponsorship and top notch coaching and equipment early which imo gives a false perspective of ability. the polish dominance at junior goes back a long way and very few have gone on to be top Grand Prix level riders where are the likes of drabik and smektala now, cierniak didn’t set it alight last season either. And it goes way back to the likes of Robert miskowiak, karol zabik, Arthur mrozcka…
