  1. There's quite a few riders that cause carnage, like as mentioned on other threads. Pederson , Roynon, Lyndon, sheppard, barker , hume, to name a few dangerous riders.
  2. So Plymouth is actually a shorter drive, irrelevant though as batch won't go there anyway.
  3. Sam as manager was really only a publicity stunt to try and attract more fans, this as was proved back fired - good luck to Chris Adams in getting a decent team sorted.
  4. Would either of the worralls be worth a punt?
  5. I wonder if the subject of riders failing drink and drugs tests comes up and what can be done as a stronger deterrent next season.
  6. Sounding positive that brum will run, this Tolley bloke must have more money than sense after this season just gone. Good luck to all involved and for brummie supporters I really hope it comes to fruition and next season is a good one.
  7. That might be what the crowd funding collection is to pay ? It's already raised enough and Chuck in a few Rusty washers and ermolenko's wage for the season is paid.
  8. Why should the brummie fans pay anything towards the clubs debt?, like most of the population they too will be counting their pennies.
  9. That site has been empty a bit longer than the stadium site has from what I recall on visits to Brandon .
  10. It won't come as a shock to anyone if Birmingham closes .
  11. Your absolutely right there, similar to the over the top schlein outbursts. Well done to Poole against a scunthorpe side that just weren't up to the task.
  12. Literally the same experience I had, not quite plain sailing all the time but pretty relaxed for most of it depending who I was helping. I wouldn't want to do it now though.
  13. Must of been a case of falling out either over not getting paid, which happens alot to mechanics believe it or not or Jake had a family emergency that came first as it quite rightly should, there's more to life than washing bikes and feeling pressured to abandon your own family.
  14. As far as I'm aware jhr have made a couple of rear ends over the years that are different to conventional rear ends made by the likes of jawa and stuha.
  15. I'd certainly say it's got alot to do with it , fair play to the polish mechanics that come over and work till they realise the cost of living here. Don't get me wrong, there's a good few mechanics that make it work, I think it's down to personal circumstances imo.
  16. Yes dean with your own business it would work as you'd be in charge of your income accordingly but we weren't all fortunate enough for that, apart from that over the 32 odd years I mechaniced and held down full time jobs eventually it takes it's toll and in the end I just wasn't interested anymore. I had great times and some times when I was wishing I hadn't bothered. The best years of speedway have gone now and alot of riders don't appreciate the hard work and sacrifices their mechanic makes.
  17. Don't forget running around getting parts and picking up and dropping off riders at airports etc , picking up and dropping engines off at the tuner,I can definitely say it's turned into a full time job and the money unless your very lucky to work for a generous rider isn't that great and holding down a regular job is very difficult when your getting home from meetings very late at night . When I did it my annual leave soon got used up and I lost money over the years not to mention the time apart from the family especially if you have children that during the season you hardly see. It's not for everyone, young, free and single with no financial commitment is who it suits nowadays. IMO.
