Decent meeting but it looked like a bore fest after the first few races. Having to water the track after heat 2 showed they hadn’t put enough on at the right time. We were on the back straight but soon moved to try and avoid the dust clouds so went and joined the Plymouth fans ( good banter ) on the terracing but still dusty there. Racing got better and there was some great races late on. Youngsters Scott and Loftus always in the thick of it after it looked like Plymouth might pinch a win. Feel a bit sorry for Lambert, the effort is there but the speed is not, retirement beckons I think. Still can’t see Bears making the top four as messers Allen, Edwards and Mulford are just too inconsistent even on their home track.

Bears could start by making you the team manager 😄

Well it looks like I’ll be finished watching speedway via my three northern teams ( Comets, Bandits and Bears )by August, as non are finishing in the play offs.

If you bothered to read previous posts you would know that Klindt could not possibly be kept. As for restructuring the team…just how would that happen? 🤔…..there are no alternatives!

As predicted an easy home win against a lacklustre and inconsistent Bears side. Looks like the Monarchs are destined for a play off place and Bears have to settle for a possible BSN final but they need to ride better than tonight if they are to beat Berwick. Big decision if they are to replace Klindt with Wright at some point.

Not the first time a rider has failed to make an appearance at Edinburgh but he actually did ok around Plymouth .

I attend 3 different tracks most other weeks, Workington, Berwick and Redcar, fixtures allowing, and they all do it differently but at least they do it so not all clubs are failing at it.

Can only see a home win with Monarchs too strong throughout for a weakened Bears . Pity as with Pijper Bears reserves may have made it interesting but with Lambert also missing with a ‘ speedway related injury ‘ ( ? ) can only see a comfortable home win with the bonus point added.

But the STADIUM was already in place…

With crowds down at just about every track in the country , including stock cars, and so few clubs now active what is there left to justify any building of a new stadium to host motorsports ?

You don’t ! Only half the ‘ Crowd ‘ ( makes it sound good ) don’t bother with a programme these days and plenty around me make their own version.

and, of course, speedway updates is very accurate and detailed 😉 sometimes they can’t even get the score right! Don't get me wrong, updates is a valuable site but it’s done by volunteers who are sometimes biased and usually do not have time to give you a full and accurate account of each individual race. and yes, I have been an ‘inputter’ on the site so know how difficult it is, bless them.

No idea just read Allen’s post saying he wasn’t riding but doubt Bears could get a guest to go to Plymouth at the last minute.

Well at least I was right about the Bears reserves being stronger tonight ! A very unexpected result, whilst Lambert still fails to impress only Mulford was inconsistent tonight and Bears benefitted. Bandits riders were the inconsistent ones.

As I rotate between Workington, Berwick and Redcar most weeks think I’ll take the two legs in this weekend. Can see Berwick winning over the 2 matches winning easily at home and running Bears close at Redcar. I’d have them down for the win there too but think the Bandits reserves might struggle to match their opponent's around Redcar. Bandits too strong at home and Bears individual riders are just too inconsistent. Just hope to see two good speedway matches.

The Speedway Star reports have become the Daily Star style….dont let the truth get in the way of a good story. By the time Wright is fit enough to do two meetings in a week Bears season will be over but I’m glad he’s able to earn some decent wages at last even if it is in Germany-Poland.

Klindt has a history and will be expensive as he knew he was the only option. The others less so as they are reasonably sensible in riding for clubs where they actually know they will get paid on time and don’t appear to chase the money and change clubs every season.

I would be very surprised if the club could afford to have both of them in the team as they won’t be cheap to run and how many changes would need to be made ?
