  1. Looking at guests Pawlicki on 7.50 so choices limited and no out and out number ones on or around such an average, possibly Harris, Tungate, Basso or Iversen, as for Lampart there’s not a lot of scope either in the Premiership so expect they’ll get someone who currently rides in Championship best option Etheridge, with others like Thomson, Castagna, Lambert available
  2. Wouldn’t you just take out the rider with the lowest average allowed to bring in Lindgren and make the team as strong as possible?
  3. He’s not allowed to ride for 15 days from the date Grudziadz used ZZ or R/R in UK terms, so that rules him out riding anywhere until after 8th June be that Poland, UK, Denmark or World Championship events
  4. So I’m assuming guest choices from Belle Vue, Oxford and King’s Lynn for those two if it’s an official PZM meeting
  5. So the axe remains over one of the current Brummies 1-6 with Lindgren on his way next week, will we see any of the Brummies step up to the plate at Owlerton to secure their team spot, or has the Brummies management already made their decision no matter what happens in this one. Sheffield will be hoping to build on last Thursday’s home win against Leicester and Mondays at Belle Vue, where on both occasions the heat leaders, engine room and reserves scored well. Can only see them doing the same in this one as well securing a decent home win and bonus point. Imagine that Sheffield will use a guest again for Pickering (believe it will be Schlein again) and possibly the same riding order with Howarth at 4 instead of 2. For the Brummies Pawlicki’s and Lampart’s first rides here and judging by all the other Poles (Musielak the exception to the rule) they generally struggle at Owlerton, Worrall has generally been good at number 2 for both Wolves and Belle Vue around here getting a decent hauls, Brennan hit and miss around Owlerton over the years but on good form at the moment, Sedgmen knows his way around after wearing the Sheffield kevlars on more than one stint, Cook and Flint join the Owlerton hit and miss brigade although Flint at reserve could be key if he has gating gloves on with his liking if the wide lines. Going for a comfortable home win of 54-36 with at least one of the a Sheffield team unbeaten by an opponent
  6. Blamed the postponement squarely at the foot of the Chief Medical Officer rather than the usual agreement of captains and managers. Just a mardy arse comment that’s not shed a good light on him
  7. Wow, thought Dickson would have learned from previous seasons re Cook. He’s had one good meeting for Oxford at Sheffield (dodgy filters and all), next thing he’ll be signing Batchelor
  8. The BV riders will have been briefed by Lemon on what to say re the track conditions in the presser, he doesn’t want his riders making him look anymore foolish than he made himself today
  9. After the ht10 deluge there was no way that it should have taken that long to call it. BV were struggling out of the traps and needed something like 20+ points from 5 races to win which wasn’t going happen. Should have been called there and then rather than treat the paying fans with contempt. Lemon should have admitted defeat and put it to bed when it was obvious to all what was going to happen, as now Belle Vue haven’t come out of today looking good at all from both people who paid on the gate and those reading the online/social media comments
  10. Suns out but now at NSS, not seen the track yet but if this continues (but if wind would help) then should be all systems go
  11. Aces to win this by 8 49-41, the difference will be the reserves, can only see Edwards and Gilkes scoring 2 or 3 max from their combined 8 rides (7 if Sheffield need to use a tac sub), whereas Mountain and Bailey will get double digits from their rides. Blodorn usually outscores Howarth at number 2, the J Holder/Woffinden v Kurtz/Bewley combos will equal themselves out through the meeting, Lidsey v C Holder and Cook v Brennan close points wise also, can see it going deep into the meeting
  12. Yes just seen, was told Friday it was a done deal so just wondered if they’d have waited until Mondays meeting or if they were going to make and announcement about an announcement :-)
  13. Are Birmingham announcing Lindgren during tomorrow’s meeting then?
  14. 100% this defo needed more UK track time, he needs to bin off going to Poland to get zero rides for Pila, plus the tracks/opponents in the U24 league where he rides for Grudziadz won’t help him one bit, Polish league promises the world but delivers little unless your in top bracket of riders
  15. So it’s Dan Gilkes, might help him with with more bike time
  16. They should be able to utilise the whole 2 minutes, don’t think some of the start marshals quite understand that at the moment, maybe another one for Morris’ to do list
  17. He might have had a good night at Owlerton (how I don’t know) but I’d be brining Kerr back in for Cook, you know what you’re getting with Lewi week in week out where’s as Cook continues to be an enigma and with already having one of those in Janowski in the team you can’t have two of them. Is it true also that Wrocław have advised Janowski that he can’t make any changes to his kit from what he has in Poland i.e. it works in Poland make it work in UK? Heard from a mate who mechanics for a GP rider over in Poland that the other week Wrocław stopped him getting an engine looked at over here with a well established UK tuner and that they wanted him to us Kowalski direct in Poland only as that’s who they as a team have a relationship with.
  18. Definitely does override on occasions but I’d rather see that than someone just tootle around at the back not giving it their all like we saw with Batchelor and Cook once they’d missed the start
  19. Tai Woffinden had a front puncture in the ht11, that’s why he purposely touched the tapes. Quick thinking but unfortunately the track wasn’t conducive to overtaking last night, think Kyle Howarth made five passes (two in one race) that were after lap 1 bend 2 apart from that can’t really remember any others apart from that. By the way great to see Kyle back on it last night, he’s tried absolutely everything to get his season on track including arranging a practice session on Tuesday this week to try get a set up working at Owlerton, by the way if there’s a video of ht15 with his battle with Lawson including the hairy moment off bend 4 into the home straight I’d love to see that
  20. If this one does indeed managed beat the weather and spin king’s rain dance then Woffinden maybe having 7 rides tonight as can see Leicester having a lead after Ht8
  21. R/R for Jack Holder tonight as his partner has given birth to their first child, congrats to them both. With Jack being number 1 in the Sheffield average all remaining 6 riders eligible to take one of his rides
  22. Battle of the big cats. Ultimately the winner here though might be the weather if it continues like this into tomorrow, as we know that back straight at Owlerton floods pretty easy. If the meeting is on will the Lions turn over the Tigers like last season at Owlerton? The Lions definitely have riders who can go good around Owlerton in Fricke, Lawson, Masters, and Douglas (all been frequent guests at Sheffield for home and away teams) in the past couple of seasons, Becker can be hit and miss at Owlerton but the trump card could be Kemp at reserve. Sheffield will be hoping that Edwards is back racing, with Pickering (shoulder injury seeing specialist in Poland) and Gilkes (9 day concussion rule) both on the sidelines they’ll definitely needs a Rising Star guest and with only Birmingham not riding there’s not a lot to choose from guest wise for Pickering, so can only see the choice of an out of form Worrall or R/R (C Holder, Howarth and reserves eligible). The powerhouse three of the Holder’s and Woffinden will need to be firing and Sheffield will be hoping that Howarth has managed to solve his speed issues out with good performance for Scunthorpe last Friday and Edwards can get in the points at home as struggled to date around Owlerton this season if they are to have a chance getting back to securing home wins. Tight one again going for a home win 48-42 ** UPDATED** Schlien for Pickering and Mulford for Gilkes
  23. Kyle seemed to have more speed on Friday for Scunthorpe, hopefully he’s managed to get to the bottom of his lack of speed so far this season. Sounds like someone been having a spin at Owlerton tonight, or might be my ears playing tricks on me!!
  24. No chance Sheffield will take Cook on again after his previous stint there it didn’t end very well from what I know. Also his ‘special’ set up from his Oxford visit earlier this season has run out of that F&F juice if we’re going on his scores since then
