Well well well. The mighty Ipswich crumbling at home to the fast track specialists. play offs come at a perfect time for the tigers -
Kings Lynn v Sheffield Monday 1st September

Home win 53-37 Sheffield will be thinking of play offs -
100% that track was raceable by 8pm. After a downpour the track staff did a great job with it took the wet layer off looked fine. Not one bike was warmed up which tells you everything you need to know. Riders dictating. once more it’s the fans that suffer, and also the sport. Talking to a father and son on way out it was only their 3rd meeting can you honestly blame them if they never came back? I won’t be attending again this season

Thought Ipswich would have Emil at 5 as he is usually a force round Owlerton, but obviously gives them a strong middle order. Adam Ellis on paper is a loss for riding at Sheffield but he hasn’t scored big since he left the club, Dan Thompson could be a busy man he always wins a few races. Sheffield will be feeling it after a battering at BV, escaped with the bonus point somehow. Picko and Chris Holder need to find an extra gear going into play offs if we are going to win them. The rest of the team have been performing as you’d expect, Jack Holder been on fire of late looking forward to seeing him against Doyle and Emil. 50-40 home win

Very lucky to get bonus point. Only positive I can take from that is averages dropped for next season 🙃 -

Think a narrow aces win.. Sheffield on paper look a lot stronger at reserve and you’d expect Pickering and the Holders to mix it with the BV heat leaders. Zach Cook could be the key rider if he rides well l think it will carry them over the line 47-43 -
Sheffield v Leicester 21/8/25

Really enjoyed tonight’s meeting. Good win for Sheffield, should really give the team confidence going into the play offs. Holder and Fricke both showing why their number 1’s tonight great riding by both Aussies. Sheffield 1-7 looking good round Owlerton Chris Holder struggling out the starts need him to do abit more from number 5 but all in all positive signs. thought Leicester reserves deserved more for their efforts and Becker getting through 4 races has to be a positive for the lions, even though it was his usual type of Owlerton performance (abit naff) -
SHEFFIELD: Jack Holder, Anders Rowe, Josh Pickering, Nick Morris, Chris Holder, Jye Etheridge, Leon Flint. LEICESTER: Max Fricke, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Kyle Howarth, Sam Masters, Drew Kemp, Joe Thompson Anything other than a home win would be a disaster for Sheffield morale wise going into the play offs. Leicester have beaten us twice already round Owlerton. last visit Kerr and Sedgmen scored a shocking 1 between them, and in my opinion were rightly replaced with Morris and Etheridge. Kemp and Thompson scored paid 12, they’ll do well to do the same tomorrow. Becker back in the team makes Leicester weaker as an away team but still are the form team for me going into the play offs. Sheffield to win 50-40. If the tracks as good as the BV meeting should be some good racing

Pure speed is more exciting though. The neutrals want to see Sheff v BV final

Fell asleep reading updates. Big crowds at Ipswich don’t they get bored of the lack of passing?

What’s happened to the formidable heat leader that was tobi Musielak? dead cert for Sheffield on that average next year -
Oxford v Sheffield 14.8.25

Thought we were finished but that 0-5 gave us the boost to go and win the meeting. Great from Picko in 15. play offs looking pretty concrete now -
OXFORD: Charles Wright, Mitch McDiarmid, Rohan Tungate, Victor Palovaara, Maciej Janowski, Peter Kildemand, Luke Killeen. SHEFFIELD: Jack Holder, Anders Rowe, Josh Pickering, Nick Morris, Chris Holder, Jye Etheridge, Leon Flint. hard to call for me this one. Feel like Oxford are making a fist of it at the moment, McDiarmid and Palovaara are a lot less experienced at this level compared to Rowe and Morris I think that could be key. If Jack Holder fancies it he could go through the card if his gating boots are on. 48 - 42 away win. Jack Holder/Pickering 5-1 in heat 15 to seal it
