Sheffield Tigers 2025
Manifesto replied to InTheDeepStuff's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The rumours mill on here is crazy. Way they’ve worded it i’m guessing it will be thanking Howarth for 10 years of service and wishing him well for next season. Not saying Jack Holder will 100% be in our team or league 2025 but he lives with his brother and the Cooks in Dorset and I imagine that must be a huge benefit to them all been other side of the world from home. He may need to sort a new mechanic which could be a problem but fairly confident all contracts are signed with the Holders for 25 -

I’d say Sheffield probably get the best home crowds in the league second only to BV. But as a club we are lucky to have a few people at the top putting good money towards riders and the club in general -
Opinions vary but I’d say BV is the fairest track in the league, good engine needed and away you go
-
I think Ipswich have the most home advantage in the league the small track is very tricky for most away riders, Sheffield is intimidating for some but I’d say the rest of the prem tracks carry no home advantage

Emil is better than Jack, Tai and Doyle both good home and away coming back from injuries.. Chris better than Brennan and Picko is better than Ellis by some distance.. in my opinion. Rew like Rowe does well at reserve both have potential to step it up. Dan T is far the best young Brit from both teams. Gilkes and Flint need to find some consistency in the premiership. Jenkins will probably be a big asset to the witches in heats 2 and 8 -

I don’t think the Holders would say something like that they’d both still be living in Dorset together. IF the rumoured 7 is correct, I think the management and Steady have recognised the risk but also the reward of having the strongest top 4 in the league. Huge pressure on the 3 young Brit’s but one of them if not 2 will need to step up and support them -

Flint never been great around owlerton but think he will be better than Edwards come mid season. Have every faith Rowe would be an improvement on Howarth too -
Agreed Bewley won’t leave BV. Musielak would be a great shout

Who’s had no contact then? The AGM meeting hasn’t took place yet and people probably on holidays post season -
Great news to have a Brum ride in 2025 I will try and go to all of the away meetings. Pickering will be the Sheffield captain next year
-
He is worth the admission money alone at owlerton a true asset to British speedway. I want to see every prem team full of gp riders if possible

The Ipswich side was built similar to ours, the difference was D Thompson had a great season which pushed Rew down to reserve and the top 5 kept performing. Howarth was very poor for most parts of the season and had to stay at number 2, Anders Rowe been the only change would make us stronger. Gilkes and Edwards had they’re moments but didn’t improve much through the season but are still young riders, I’m not sure who else would be better picks at reserve -

That’s sport sometimes, just about hitting form at the right time. Need to find some magic in a young reserve 2025 -

As poor as Edwards and Gilkes were, especially away. We managed to finish top of the league with many bonus points in the bag -

Replacing Rowe for Howarth is a positive move. That team with Pickering firing is unreal especially at home. The semis against BV were decided by Pickos engine issues in the first leg and the Holder bro’s both having an off night in the home leg if we got past the semis we would of smashed Leicester. Not sure if Edwards and Gilkes would both be back as they were disappointing last season -

I’ll complain until the cows come home 🤪 The riders want to earn a living in both leagues so it will get sorted -

If Poland do us over and the likes of Picko, Woffy etc don’t ride UK might as well shut up shop -
Heard a rumour Bomber is going to be at Sheffield next season and not as a guest rider
-
The real final was the semi. Leicester and Ipswich was no match for Sheffield and BV

Final averages out now but shouldn’t change any plans dramatically. Obviously waiting on the points limit decision whether it be 39 or 40 and the RS program to continue. Feel like the management will have something of a surprise up their sleeve for 2025 could be a rider who hasn’t rode UK 2024. Still think Lambert would be a steal on a below 8 average -

It was strange seeing them both have an off night I’m not sure what was the reason, Jack has hardly dropped a point all season but just didn’t have any speed at all, not sure if having no mechanic was the cause. Chris started badly and seemed all out of sorts. It’s a very tough choice picking 2/3 but I’d have to say Jack should be the first name on the team sheet for 2025 next to Picko -

Are they the final averages? As they are slightly different to the British speedway website latest ones. 2024 team been a pleasure to watch, especially when we had Woffy going well. Finishing top of the table and winning the cup you’d say go similar as possible. But I do think we were left wanting at reserve in many meetings relying too heavily on the Holders, which last night proved to be our undoing. If the strong rumours of Anders Rowe signing are true then that is a great reserve to have. I think they have to get Picko back just for entertainment value and I’d make him the captain. if the same points limit applies with a RS at 7 Jack Holder 8.7 Tai Woffinden 8.46 Robert Lambert 7.61 Josh Pickering 6.61 Anders Rowe 3.91 leaves 4.71 for the final rider, Thomsen or Kerr maybe? think Edwards could be the preferred choice as RS -
Well done BV defo deserved it over the two legs. We just didn’t show up tonight Jack and Chris probably the worst they’ve been all season at home. Heat 14 summed the season up for me, Picko trying his very hardest to slow the race up to try and give Edwards chance at passing, but he never laid a glove. Team needs a re think for 2025

first rider to go down on his own tonight
