I could tell tales of arguments at speedway but 99% of fans are just genuine speedway fans. As for the bend 2 barmy army (about 6 people) they popped up after Covid I don’t think they’ve been going for long. The rivalry between Ipswich and Sheffield is down to both having strong teams and last years final was mostly respectful -

I think karmas caught up with him.. he’s only had a couple of poor ish meetings so far, he’s in top 3 averages in league I do believe? -

A crappy little track our riders tend to hate.. anything less than a 10 point loss and no injuries id see as a good result -

Fair play to KL really got out the gates and looked comfortable on the track, Sheffield the complete opposite didn’t gate well all night and seemed abit all over the place. 10 points is a very competitive gap, don’t think it will the mullering like last time at owlerton. Could be a tense second leg -

Sheffield coming back strong now. Got to get the reserves going both look very short on confidence in the top league compared to the championship -

Not convinced Picko is going to be fit for this. Seems abit of a tester meeting for him and wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t ride 4 heats. -

Not many good 7 pointers out there right now.. Zagar? Lebedevs? Kvech? Cook is a consistent rider who has potential and maybe now a huge point to prove id be on phone if I was KL -
That’s what I was thinking. I’d even fit him in at Sheffield for Howarth but that won’t happen
-
Cook can hold his head up high he has done well this season. I can see him going Kings Lynn or maybe even BV to join his brother
-
Going to make the trip down for this one. Not sure if we’re planning to get a guest in for Pickering but Richard Lawson would be my choice. think it will be tight, Holders and Tai could be the difference in the later heats. Hoping to see Musielak back at it always provides entertainment

Very sad news for Doyle and the league in general. Speedy recovery. Laguta to replace him would be my guess -
Sheffield v Birmingham - 30th May
Manifesto replied to InTheDeepStuff's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That’s a good question, I assume a stopwatch is used. Chris Holder won in under 60s and Steve Worrall got a fast time in heat 1. Holder was flying the bike was really pulling him out of the bends once wheels were in line even Woffy was well behind him -

The track was obviously on point tonight Jack was absolutely flying in heat 13 but didn’t think he’d be near the TR. Ricky Ashworth’s record finally broken. it was a strange meeting in a way, there was a huge gulf in class with Woffy, Chris and Jack (apart from his second ride) against the Brummies, Howarth was on pace with Worrall, Cook, Sedgmen and Brennan. The reserves were all fairly poor, Edwards had his moments but faded when he’d got himself in a scoring position. i suspect it will either be Lampart or Sedgy to go in place of Lindgren. Worrall and Cook are good riders. Pawlicki has more to offer and will probably do better riding at number 3/4 -

R/R for Pawlicki is basically Brum writing off this match. Brennan may put up a fight but unless Worrall and Cook gate well on night could be a 60+ score for Sheffield -

Tungate and Etheridge would be great choices. I imagine Harris comes cheaper though. weather forecast looking okay ish for tomorrow -

Guest choice for Birmingham could be interesting if they have a few riders to call upon. They need someone in at reserve who can bang a few wins in if they want to keep it close, as I don’t think anyone will get much from Woffy, Jack and Chris. 53-37 home win -

Be interesting to see how some riders perform knowing a bad one could mean the chop. Surely they already know who is going to be exiting the team -
Next one in August is against Sheffield again. If the weather forecast is better the crowd will be 400-500 better off I imagine

The track was not the same as heat 4 at all
-
Firstly I think the tractor bloke did a cracking job first time round of sorting track out after 4 races of whoever’s at the back gets covered. I feel they could have pushed the meeting through abit faster than they did (not saying 15 heats would have rbeen raced though). When the rain come after heat 10 that was it, the track was done for. If the aces had been winning by 10 points it would have been called within 5 mins. Absolute joke tbf how long it dragged on, I left before any announcements were made it was so clearly unrideable. as for the meeting itself was obviously gate and go, Sheffield were so much better which won them the meeting. Wouldn’t judge any riders too harshly on today’s showing.

Huge pressure on Bewley and Lidsey. Think it will be still very close as BV reserves will score more than tigers
