Wait until you see the line up of a one league championship and the riders involved đ Iâd rather see 4 teams of GP stars in a super league than that rubbish.
-
At this point, it wonât really feel like the witches we know anyway without a Louis involved. People outside of Ipswich wonât understand the work he does within Ipswich and the Town, he is close with the football club and works so hard to build relationships with them, he helps out the town and speaks to the MPS, local council plus the Major and is actually part of the community. Not just a businessman who is interested in speedway, thatâs why any Witches fan will feel this is a major sucker blow to take. Riding next year or not it feels like the club has been lost IMO.

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?

Literally nobody cares đ you wonât see any GP stars next season in Britain. I guess Tai is a âGP starâ again đ -
People thinking the club was in any problems are mistaken. Itâs not that Chris canât do it anymore, itâs that every other club canât run as professional as his so they have to create one league which Chris is against, he would rather walk away with his team he wanted than bow down to other clubs forcing him to ride in one watered down league with a weak team, I donât blame him. People keep wanting one league, have it now, and watch all of British speedway fail. I am very glad we finally won a league title under Chris and with such an amazing squad! PS. Having Harry has clearly moved the sport forward.

Did they sell out last year? Its each to their own I guess, some people donât like to leave the country and will enjoy the fact of two back to back, but as I said⌠my personal opinion is I donât like it as I love to travel and would prefer to see another either located somewhere different in Britain or across seas, I donât think any track should have double headers, itâs nothing against NSS.
-
Giving Manchester two rounds again one night after another is becoming a joke. Whether itâs the best track or not, I want more weekends to look forward to watching the GP. Not just doing two in one weekend, obviously my opinion only and many will like it Iâm sure, but they didnât even sell out last year for two. Should have placed a second British GP in a different location IMO. Gorzow not holding it this year as itâs a reset year for the club.

You lost me when I read the first name đ

All I see from majority of BV fans on here this that they donât attend the âqualifiersâ đ maybe you just need more loyal fans and not pick and choose ones đ you seem to have a lot to write âđź

% would be sponsor % would be tickets % would be TV. % of the van, equipment would be written off for tax as well as self employed -

But the Oxford fans probably could afford but got sick of losing. Thatâs like saying people from London cant afford West Ham tickets⌠they can but they choose not to go due to the crap they watch. Nothing to do with affording anything. The same people probably go on holiday, go to other events, people can afford things but prioritise their money in things they prefer to do, unfortunately, and people seem to forget on this forum, people really donât like speedway when you speak to them and they are aware of the sport, they see it as boring. Thatâs the sports fault, and not people lacking money to spend it. Create a better product and people will come. -

Sorry am I losing the plot. The comment was Oxford paid for Gustâs equipment and vans etc. Oxford paid for it so they clearly can afford it as they didnât go bankrupt? When you canât afford something it means you canât buy it. The fans went to the matches so they afforded the ticket⌠if your argument was can they spend the money better then maybe yes, but the argument they canât afford is nullified due to the fact they did afford it, and finished the season without going bankrupt. -

In whose eyes? Oxford clearly felt they were getting a rider worth the money. He may have taken reduced payments for that fact, nobody knows his contract but everyone quick to comment. Oxford paying Magic and Tungate their large sums of money weekly was more of a robbery if you ask me. -

But who said âweâ canât afford it? Everyone is guessing. Oxford clearly felt they could afford it whilst running three clubs so let them live or die by their decision, itâs not up to us to decide what companies can and canât spend their money on⌠If there is one league, Ipswich have lost Danny king as he has signed for Plymouth next year. -

Well thatâs exactly the same as Parnitskyi for Leszno who got everything given to him because he is from Ukraine so whatâs the problem with Britain doing it? -
To add, my number one highlight was to the detriment of Belle Vue (sorry BV fans). The 2023 semi final at Belle Vue heat 15 for Emil and Doyle to come through and win vs Bewley and Kurtz was unreal, not many pairs do that to them at Belle Vue! And hats off to Bewley and Kurtz because they made that race amazing to watch. Four laps of total madness with emotions everywhere! What a heat that was.
-
Thought Iâd open up a chat if anybody wanted to say thanks to Emil, might end up sharing it with him so he can read some more nice messages over the winter, if anybody wants to share some highlights or best moments of him, lastly, I wanted to share what Chris wrote about him and how it wasnât easy to get him. More like Chris in this sport needs to be brave and stand up, I think we know the FIM has failed us at this, It was such a difficult time for Emil and his family when he was left in the wilderness because of the war in Ukraine and I felt something needed to be done. âMy work to allow Emil to race in the UK was not universally accepted and alienated me in some quarters, but it soon became apparent that he was going to be a hugely popular character, not only at Ipswich, but up and down the country

But lose all your SGP stars in doing so, does that really lead to bigger crowds? I think people are a bit naive to think going to win league and running speedway of a different day would bring back bigger crowds. You wrote the other day you didnât see any of the listed promotional pushes that Belle Vue have tried so why would one league and Belle Vue riding on a different day attract more people? Promotion is the problem or maybe just the fact people arenât interested in speedway. People need to wake up to the situation I think
