  1. My sister flew back last week and said that it was two hour pre flight grief for a 55 minute flight home? So is Holder riding, is BWD fit, and is Harris attending? We await the news.
  2. Not surprised if this is correct from the Workington website - the joys of Sunday speedway? "Saturday's home clash against Newcastle sees the Diamonds using Chris Harris as a guest at number one in place of Robert Lambert, who will be returning from his World Under-21 Championship round in Germany. Meanwhile, on Sunday Peterborough will be operating Rider Replacement for Chris Harris, who is competing in the British Masters Grasstrack Championship that day!" It's about an hour's flight from Germany isn't it
  3. Might be something to do with it tipping it down with rain.
  4. Absolutely tipping it down in town centre and iffy forecast atm until 6pm, could be off by lunchtime if they don't want to take the risk?
  5. Wouldn't it have made sense to do that somewhere today? No doubt the morning preview will say the same but I doubt that there will be an update if the practice goes ahead and he's fit or not? First we'll hear will be through the PA.
  6. I think you mean excuse. I'm not saying that it wasn't possibly a problem but if it mattered then a way would have been found.
  7. Unless it's me doing the work then it's virtually always hearsay so allegedly is usually accurate.
  8. Maybe but if riders are allegedly accepting bookings but not turning up through choice then we really are in the madhouse. That's witholding services.
  9. The insult is whatever is the actual story in this piece from our local rag: "Cradley man Joe Lawlor stepped into that role at short notice after the rider actually booked by Panthers – Steve Boxall of Plymouth – failed to show up in Cumbria." - what's that all about
  10. Especially when Thursday's message was: "I hope I speak for us all, riders, management and supporters alike when I say we need a big push to motivate us on to enjoy the remainder of the season. Crowds, leaving in their droves does not help the situation at all. Ending the season on a negative note could be detrimental to decisions being made regarding next season." Day of the meeting and no preview on the club website doesn't encourage the crowd does it?
  11. It shouldn't be but that's the potential knock on of an ill judged decision. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.
  12. Not according to the PR: "We've got four home fixtures coming up in the next few days and our aim is to win them all - and I don't see any reason why that can't happen. "There is a lot of racing and plenty of excitement ahead for the fans as we attempt to finish as high up the standings as possible before turning our attention to the KO Cup later in September."
  13. Made the decision yesterday not to go based on the forecast so what it does or doesn't do today will not change that as I rely on a lift. I wasn't particularly bothered about the meeting tbh, although as matey above says, it's far from shabby considering, but just wanted to see what the atmosphere was like around the place.
  14. Forecast changed dramatically now. Think that they'll be ok. Some light rain this afternoon if it hits but otherwise dry.
  15. If the afternoon rain hit the EoES then it'll not survive so the question is do they take the risk or call it off by the lunchtime cut off? Who's running the ship? We're struggling for dates even now. Generally though, it's the usual cram the fixtures in at the end of the season scenario. For whatever reason, you can't go the whole of August without home fixtures.
  16. Meaningless Have you not read the press releases. With rain forecast most of the day, including a couple hours of heavy rain at some point, it'll be touch and go whether this survives anyway if that forecast is anything like.
  17. Someone told me middle of Sept (not seen it written anywhere?) so in the next few weeks in any case is what we're saying.
