witches always likely to be up against even before Rew’s fall and mistakes gifted points to the lions. masters moving at the start in heat 7 should have been pulled back and with him on a warning he maybe wouldn’t have made quick starts in subsequent heats. think that fricke had to be excluded in heat 1 as he was the prime cause of the stoppage with ellis taking avoiding action. nicholls and king are past their prime and both were guilty of riding too wide forfeiting further points. no prizes were up for grabs last night but sides rarely recover from their top riders coming back from injury ready to perform at their best so unfortunately it looks as though the witches are destined for disappointment. on another note i can’t understand why leicester are able to bring in kemp for cook. on what grounds is cook unable to ride? a week or two off seems reasonable given his partner is due to give birth but this has been going on forever now. before we know it leicester will be picking horses for courses at reserve in the grand final. they should be forced to track an ndl rider in my opinion.
