  1. guests needs to be booked in advance. would ipswich want to risk emil pulling out sunday evening and then scrambling around to get a replacement monday morning? i doubt he will ride on thursday, but him not riding tonight tells us little.
  2. great GP so far. unpredictable, overtaking and a well prepared track
  3. track looks good. hopefully it holds together
  4. Users were still experiencing connection issues last night. Too many connections was the message quoted to me when I couldn’t connect. Are the recent problems now behind us?
  5. witches always likely to be up against even before Rew’s fall and mistakes gifted points to the lions. masters moving at the start in heat 7 should have been pulled back and with him on a warning he maybe wouldn’t have made quick starts in subsequent heats. think that fricke had to be excluded in heat 1 as he was the prime cause of the stoppage with ellis taking avoiding action. nicholls and king are past their prime and both were guilty of riding too wide forfeiting further points. no prizes were up for grabs last night but sides rarely recover from their top riders coming back from injury ready to perform at their best so unfortunately it looks as though the witches are destined for disappointment. on another note i can’t understand why leicester are able to bring in kemp for cook. on what grounds is cook unable to ride? a week or two off seems reasonable given his partner is due to give birth but this has been going on forever now. before we know it leicester will be picking horses for courses at reserve in the grand final. they should be forced to track an ndl rider in my opinion.
  6. Oxford had 7 of their first 7 heat wins coming from different riders which i found remarkable. odds on that before the meeting?
  7. didn’t charles wright used to ride for belle vue a couple of seasons ago? you couldn’t tell.
  8. you need decent machinery to pull the dirt back in effectively. however, rakers could help to spot where big piles of dirt were building up. my take on the Emil crash was that he ended up on a bit of the track which is rarely used at Sheffield, the outside on bend 3. you dont see too many people dive bomb the 2nd bend. It wasnt really a place on the track Emil intended to be at, as he hoped to have blocked holders run. you can see why that part of the track might have been neglected as its usually the 4th bend that sees the overtaking.
  9. got to love simon lambert’s attitude. interviewed on BSN. a very humble and grateful guy.
  10. lions too weak at reserve to challenge in the playoffs. made to look good by a makeshift stars misfits
  11. he tends to ride the white line so i thought he would get swallowed up but he seems to generate some speed down low
  12. He looks a bit lost on track. Maybe he needs to focus on riding his own race rather than try to block opponents all the while
  13. Rowe seems to be riding with a fair bit of maturity. Maybe has Lambert's temperament
  14. He seems to have got the set up nailed. Depends if it's prepared in the GPS the same as in the league
  15. can’t blame riss for diving. he was unsettled by Freddie’s aggressive move up the inside but you have to feel for Brum, especially Brennan who was excellent.
  16. thought Kurtz was lucky to get all 4 back twice. surely if you are on the outside you need to back off if gating alongside gate 3, otherwise it gives that rider a free run
  17. kurtz jumped that one. ref not pulling anything back
  18. not a track expert by any means, but looks as though they dumped a load of water on the surface which seemed to spoil the first 4 heats. shouldn’t they try to get the moisture into the track rather than leave it on the surface? once a rider was behind they just seemed to get filled in which has meant some poor racing so far.
  19. i thought a dislocated shoulder was 3 months out
  20. Wasn’t there a big rut on bend 2 that threw Dan Thompson off in the SON2 leading to a dislocated shoulder? The same rut that nearly caused a couple of other accidents on Friday night. Completely agree that the track came good for the final and that it is a great racetrack if you prefer your speedway flat out.
