  1. Sometimes if a meeting is already won & the away team can not get a losing point, you can put 2 of your lesser riders in to gain heat 15 experience.
  2. A guest takes the average of the rider he is replacing, as posted by arnieg, so is a typo error.
  3. As others have said, this was an on going situation for quite a few years that was going to happen. I am surprised, though, that an area has not been earmarked yet for development by the club and/or council & to now ask for assistance for finance & land it is like saying that "the horse has bolted." Could the owners hold off for another year to give the Monarchs a bit more time to resolve the situation or has the developing area now closed in? Hoping a solution can be found with a better shaped track.
  4. Jenkins is another rider in Polish U24 teams that ride on Tuesdays at 4pm
  5. After the meeting was postponed 11:45am, we also had this Scunthorpe Speedway (@SpeedwayScunny) / Twitter to contend with.
  6. And there is the contrast of 2 meetings with a similar weather forecast, ours & Glasgow v Poole(read their thread pages 3 & 4. Sods law. Their meeting went ahead with a very heavy track(see updates). DAMNED IF YOU DO, DAMNED IF YOU DON'T.
  7. My previous post, on page 2, mentions that I saw a forecast on Thursday(tea time news then Look North) of the potential of bad weather that could curtail the speedway. The older generation, who do not use social media or play with their phones 8 hours a day, might have a sit down early evening watching the tv while having a meal. I am pretty sure that if you wanted to phone the track, it is actually the number for the garage so you will get a direct answer from Gail, co-promoter of Scunthorpe Speedway.
  8. From what I remember, the track was wet but Poole just were not interested. The race times were not too slow(around 59-60 seconds) & as others have said, it was towards the end of the season when Poole had quite a few more meetings to race so just got on with it, hoping to be in front after heat 10 so the result could be declared. Was it not, also, the meeting when the away manager tried to use a TS in heat 8?
  9. Considering what Rob said in the clubhouse after last weeks meeting that it was almost called off after he put new shale down & it did not bed in & turned to mush, what would the track be like after a possible deluge for the riders & fans. We do not want to see/read "from the gate after bend 2 after being filled in. Some riders packing in as could not see." It is not about the "now" but track prep & conditions later.
  10. Probably best as I saw forecast yesterday & thought similar & looking at this https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/map/gcx8c5kxh#?map=Rainfall&zoom=8&lon=-0.65&lat=53.59&fcTime=1653001200 the heaviest rainfall will be between 5 & 7pm.
  11. "Mikey Mike". .... Biased, tunnel vision, rose tinted specs. At least an honest opinion from a Plymouth supporter. Cheers torpoint.
  12. It also says that even though Ryan was struggling we decided to give him another week & after his performance in heat 13, was fully justified. This after a week saying we know some riders are struggling but we will keep faith with the 7 we have got!
  13. Two EXCELLENT heats from Scorpions tv streaming service(heats 8 & 15) are not to be missed on Scunthorpe's twitter page.
  14. When the Swedish fixtures came out in the SS a few weeks back, I noticed the meetings were Tuesday & Thursday & todays was one I picked out as Ellis & Becker are down in the Dackarna squad but with Sheffield V Wolves an EL fixture tonight. Where would they both be? Now being answered!
  15. Even though he had a decent season in Australia, Sedgemen made it clear he was not interested in coming over this year why is why some teams did not approach him. It has only been a change in mind by the rider & circumstances for other riders that Birmingham have took a chance & Sedgemen has repaid them with a very good return.
  16. It was similar when Scunthorpe visited at the beginning of May but don't know why compared to a few weeks earlier.
  17. IF he signed/confirmed around 23/3 for a 28 short term contract, how come he rode against the Scorpions on 4/5(some 6 weeks later)?
  18. That is why I did not include him. He also would have a bit of distance to travel & with his entourage/crew/family around him I would think THEY would want him to be on a guarantee if getting 3 rides regularly.
  19. It looks like a clean break of the shoulder so could be out for a while. Replacements or guests will be difficult to find around his average as you are looking at J Edwards, J Smith or NDL riders so it looks like Rob is going to have to use his SENIOR Position & move Redcars & Belle Vue Colts fixtures about.
  20. IF you know the full story, care to elaborate but on the Plymouth thread!
  21. Thought it was announced that it was a 2000 capacity sell out on opening night!
  22. Jordan Palin got a paid max(14+1) in his 1st season racing for the Belle Vue Colts v Plymouth in the NL https://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/18863/plymouth-nl-23-05-2019 and a full max at Cradley https://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/18920/belle-vue-colts-nl-2019 a few weeks later before moving to no1.
  23. Exactly, which is why I would take off a couple of low scores from the "cheaters".
