Scunthorpe v Birmingham 22.4.22
IronScorpion replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Simon is riding with a proper no1 & around our place 2nd & 3rd is what he is hoping for in each race. Kennedy was firing so even that heat is difficult to win. He is scoring points, not finishing last & doing a Captains job. I even saw him in last weeks match after the incident with Aarnio & Worrall have a group huddle/talk. -

Her first 2 words said it all really! Are you sure? Go back to the threads you have posted on. Pot, Kettle, Black spring to mind. I have just read the Scunthorpe thread & others that took place last night. -

Quite a bit poor from the Leicester & Glasgow posters when a Poole supporter has to start your meeting topic! -

I said, previously, that Jake was missing a bit of grunt & speed from his bikes & Falcon said his season will start this weekend. Well, Rob said he had a new engine & the improvement was evident even protecting his partner Jordan when required. Strength in depth was a positive point even though the track must have been slightly different from last weeks second half of the meeting as we did not see the speed on the inside line from Lambert & Kinsley. Birmingham played their part with Shanes & Morris always on the heals of our riders. I expected more from Nielsen, though. -
As there are no "recent" new averages, I think that is why they are applying his 7.10 CL average in 2021.
-
I am wondering now that because no recent averages are out yet(another week), then 2021 averages apply.
-
TJ not doing CL this year so should a converted PL average be applied?

It wasn't there before so must be the latest news of a suspected broken leg meaning possibly a long spell on the side lines. -

If Auty is missing & with 4 meetings due to take place Friday this would only leave guests from Poole, Plymouth & Oxford out of which this would eliminate a lot of the top riders due to the make up of their teams being built top end heavy. Only 2 riders spring to mind. MPT, but he is on a concussion break & Barker, another of our old boys. They could go r/r giving Ellis & any one below (Shanes, Morris, Nielsen & Pearson) extra rides. -
I would think kitten is clever enough, going by my profile name, that I meant this Friday.

He has gone from "Pirateship" to "Oink" & now "Turnip". He, also, thinks he is a comedian. -
Just about to post similar myself HH. I am not too sure how long ago this was mentioned/rule/ T & C's but there will be a £1 reduction of any heat not finalized up to & including heat 10 when a result is obtained to any forwarding fixture providing the ticket or stub of the cancelled fixture is shown. This is to cover costs incurred during the cancelled meeting as HH explained. Hope Josh (Mr Scunthorpe) is ok & fit for Friday.
-
It is not just the riders though, it is also to cover for the paying (aging) public that could have a problem.

Lewy & another Plymouth poster criticise anything about the Scorpions. -

Also, last years no 1 for the last 2/3rds of the season. Let's see which versions turn up on Friday. Jake having a mare, scorewise, at Belle Vue this dinner time. Seems he is missing a bit of speed, grunt, so needs a bit of tinkering to find the issue. He is not breaking down, like Harris early form so maybe engine issue(valves, springs, service not the same as usual, electrics, plug, fuel filters) so much to check to find a fault. The bikes look so similar but just 1 bit not working right causes issues. I think I have read somewhere that Josh Auty has blown 3 engines so far & was seeking out a new one only last week. -

Unfortunately it has been BAD for quite a few years & you even posted about the sound system last year in a post. The best speaker we have had was the one put up in the car park about 5+ years ago & now that does not work. Considering we have now gone down the route of streaming, it is VERY DISSAPOINTING to know our sound system is still crap & still nothing is done(both Rob & Graham? were poor on Friday) to solve this issue. -
Leicester v Poole Sat 16th/4/22
IronScorpion replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
All tracks change as a meeting progresses & the incident happened in heat 7 when 3 riders went for the outside line at bends 3 & 4, Tero being the inner of the 3 where the Lions riders both went out to block him. Heat 8 resulted in a 5-1 to the Lions before the Scorpions got 2 x 5-1's of their own. There was then a quick track grade & water spray as it was starting to get slightly dusty, expected on a warm day with a good breeze. After this, we followed it up with 3 more 5-1, a 4-2 & 3-3 final heat. The last 7 heats were more to do with the Scorpions stepping up a gear in their 1st home team meeting. -

Well you got that right. Lion's second half poor or did Scorpions find their feet & step it up a gear. -

Most of our riders, as others have said, are not doing well but they are riding to their away form/averages. This early evening is a new ball game so the lads might click in to gear. Here's hoping. -

I believe Connor is a Leicester asset so they have first dibs. Of the Thompson twins, it is Joe who has started the season the better of the 2 so all our riders need to be on their "A" game. -
