You are not just talking about our top league racing Monday & Thursdays, you are talking about British league racing so I will add to this. Poland leagues race Saturday, Sunday & Monday & drop in the occasional Friday. Sweden do Tuesdays but have now added Thursday to their racing Schedule. Only Denmark race on their, usual, race day of Wednesday.

That was when he had to travel to the East not West! -

Our track certainly was not slick on Friday even if there was evidence of shale on the "runway" on the centre green. Too much shale had been put down a few weeks ago. -

So when they ask for a volunteer to do updates who is going to a track, put yourself forward. -

Could this be a bit of Panthers spin as when he was rested, it allowed him to travel to Poland for practice in the U24 League as posted on his fb page. He has had 2 low scores, by his standards, these last 2 weeks & dropped for Tuesdays fixture. Coupled with his low score yesterday for Scunthorpe, maybe his confidence is a bit low to put him back in at Premiership level. Remember, the boy is only 18. -
Glasgow v Scunthorpe 12th June 2023

Not long ago on 20th May both Scunthorpe & Glasgow had forecasts of rain. We cancelled our meeting & got slated as fans turned up at the gates from Newcastle even though it was on British speedway site & ours & twitter that it had been cancelled at around noon. We also had a power cable cut that supplies the stadium just at the roundabout. Your meeting went ahead. -

Due to start at 5 & crowd getting angry is the quote on updates. Officials & riders are already there so probably willing to give it a go. -

For those that want to stay & those that have travelled, probably otherwise discount/ free entry at another meeting. -

Delayed another 30 minutes as track is too soft to get a tractor on. If it is too soft now it will not improve much in 30 minutes or longer so this will end up like the Edinburgh meeting on Friday. Track unfit. Forecast of rain proved true so this could have been called off earlier. -
10.6.22 - Scunny v Glasgow, League

Another entertaining meeting with all our riders giving it a go. I expected a bit more from Glasgow but so hit & miss, good rides 1 minute poor the next. The water bowser is similar in operation(front watering) to one used at the NSS & used to get more water down but what was the reasoning behind it? We rarely grade or water during a meeting but was this method used so we did not get a track like the Redcar meeting. A bit of wind & sun meant the track dried out & the blue groove materialised giving the inner line more heavily used as the outer line wasn't quick enough. Obviously, on a warm day on Friday, the track was heavily watered to soak through pre meeting which produced some quick times early on & the blue groove did not get a chance to develop. The track grade from inner to outer edges put moisture back in rather than the sprinkling to keep the dust down. Could we have done this, also, to nullify a chance that Glasgow could come back at us? Redcar were similar the other week in being 10 points behind after heat 8 closing to within 2 after heat 13. Good management, good promoting or what riders asked for? I also noticed a few Glasgow riders cutting bend 4 very close to 2 wheels over the kerb which one of the referees picked up on with having the white line put down. Maybe a lick of paint on the kerb stones might help! -

I thought this was the Glasgow v Scunthorpe League meeting thread when I first started reading it, but it has turned into the TeamGB v RofW thread. -
Having a top 5 as Sheffield have, they will take points off each other meaning their averages will to & fro.

There is a vast difference riding at 6 or 7 dictated, this year, having the rising star at 7. The no 6 rides with & against heat leaders & if you did not have a strong top 5 & Connor moved in to the main body with Cook at 6 & Allen at 7 would their scores be similar.

A few strategic wildlife remote/sensor cameras might help the Save Coventry Speedway Group with a way forward. Councils use them to catch fly tippers so why cant the group or even the police if it is a suspected target for arson.

Peter Adams has said Masters lost (or come off) his plug cap in heat 1. I am amazed they do not use an elastic band across the fins to keep it in place. -

When we came back to League racing in 2006, we burst Plymouth's bubble with 2 great teams in 06 & 07 winning almost everything. Godfrey was not even on the board in the conference days so could not run the sport his way. -

I was going to reply to this news but waited for confirmation which is now out on the Scorpion website. Alcock had been mentioned earlier before the KO meeting but it was a mis-communication error & was a guest only.
