I don't think it makes it more likely in the slightest. Scoring more or less points in a race, if that's an option for you, has always been available. A scoring system makes no difference. Last year, who's to say Zmarzlik didn't offer incentives to others to defeat Madsen, or the other way around. If you want to manipulate the are always ways to do it. I think it's rarer than some think though. Team speedway in the UK always has conspiracy theorists over team scores, averages etc. Talking about a sport generates debate and interest which can actually attract media & viewers.

I'm not that bothered about the scoring system. It's the same for all of them so don't really get the horror reactions. Fair play to Lindgren, he did it perfectly. We're others who'd qualified testing things in their last rides? Didn't some of them settle for places as they knew it was enough? So what, the big race was where it all counted. Call the heats the 'qualifying' if you like.

BT Sport rip-off -Surprised ?
SPEEDY69 replied to rusky's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
That's really slow. I am not on any fast fibre deal or anything but get way more than 1.2 download speed with Plusnet. It used to be around 3 to 5 but within the last few months it's gone up to 18-20. Perfectly fine for anything we want to throw at it. I think you may be surprised at the speed you might get now. -

If you have Plusnet for Broadband then BT sport SD via Sky is just £10 a month, no tie in. Can't see why BT broadband customers would be charged any more? -
GP Top 5 name the riders

Don't really remember who's in it but: Zmarzlik, Woffinden, Janowski, Zagar, Lindgren As for who qualifies for next year, I'm not really bothered -
Agree. Enjoyed the different track which required thought, not just throttle. Berntzon was gifted 3 points, when I think Locktaev deserved a place.

Yes, twins maybe. Met them in Riga.

Good luck to Ellis but I think he's reached his peak.

Fashion only. Stretching your arms and sitting further back brinks much more controllable grip. -
How many tracks will run meetings
SPEEDY69 replied to cityrebel's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
You are not allowed to charge for attending an amateur speedway meeting. Iwade have run outside of SCB authority before and maybe that's how that example happened. -
One runs mainly individual events whereas speedway want to run a league competition which needs all tracks to align?

That's nonsense. Whether someone gets or is more badly affected by a virus is extremely complex. There is no way to "look after your immune system" as if anything you do can change your biology. Equally, there is no evidence that eating more fruit makes you 'healthier'. Nutrition and health have basic links only.

What's the difference between cricket and speedway - crowds similar size, outdoors. OK so, cricket is nothing to do with 3 teethed yocals and filthy motorbikes... Is there a class issue here?

Govt. don't go to watch stuff in stadia but do go to the theatre?

I think they should simply shelve the Grands Prix for this season. -
Don't know how many women's hairdressers wash hair from the back, nearly always face to face. Inconsistencies is why people are confused and not complying with the guidance. Speedway has very limited risk and I think should be able to resume now.
-
Likewise, I don't get the delay. 4th July would seem entirely feasible under the announced guidance - but then there are inconsistencies all the way through. A hairdresser can open but not a nail bar??

More rounds in Poland simply means the likelihood of a Polish champion increase. Let's have a round at Eastbourne and see how they do -
Polish Extraleague 2020
SPEEDY69 replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Glad many seem to enjoy it but are there any tracks in the El out there that aren't smooth and bald? Not really a test for a rider apart from the start, more for the machine. Not really for me that so I won't comment again. Enjoy! -

You haven't missed anything either. All been pretty much processional so far. -

Polish tracks are a lot easier to ride, generally big and smooth so you can twist the throttle with no fear This is why Polish riders generally always struggled in the UK as they weren't used to the varying sizes and conditions. Just different skils/techniques.
