  1. Though not my favourite, but don't forget Hans Andersen who is in this year's line-up as well.
  2. I guess that they choose the Rospiggarna vs Indianerna fixture because it's crucial to the Indians' fight to be among the top six. A win at Rospiggarna would almost certainly give them a place in the Play Offs, as I can't imagine Indianerna losing at home to Rospiggarna.
  3. SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 17 Tuesday August 24th 2010 DACKARNA - LEJONEN at G&B Arena, Målilla For the 14th time in 15 meetings, Dackarna are at full strength at number 1-7 and rides with their standard line-up. Lejonen won't have Chris Holder in the line-up for this away fixture, but Nicki Pedersen is back after a period on the injury list. Also, Dennis Andersson takes a race jacket in the main body of the team as dictated by the rolling average, with Dave Watt dropping to reserve to form a partnership with Artur Mroczka. Dackarna (home) 1. Andreas Jonsson 2. Hans Andersen 3. Fredrik Lindgren 4. Peter Karlsson 5. Rune Holta 6. Ricky Kling 7. Ludvig Lindgren ( 8. Joel Larsson ) Lejonen (away) 1. Nicki Pedersen 2. Oliver Berntzon ) *-*-* ROSPIGGARNA - INDIANERNA at Orionparken, Hallstavik Rospiggarna have made several changes to their line-up from the previous meeting two weeks ago, as only Kauko Nieminen wears the same race jacket as then. Jesper B Monberg and Sebastian Aldén have been dropped, the latter due to injury, so Przemyslaw Pawlicki and Krzysztof Buczkowski enter the line-up, and Mads Korneliussen moves to the main body. Furthermore, Ryan Sullivan and Wieslaw Jagus swaps heat leader positions. Indianerna also makes some changes. Magnus Zetterström rides at No 1 as Bjarne Pedersen takes the No 5 position to partner the reserves, where to Niels-Kristian Iversen has been demoted due to the rolling average. Instead, Simon Gustafsson takes a place as second string. Freddy Godlund replaces Marcus Johansson as the number eight junior. Rospiggarna (home) 1. Mads Korneliussen 2. Kauko Nieminen 3. However, Tai Woffinden is back in the line-up, replacing Daniel King who scored only 1 point in Vetlanda last week. Also Valsarna comes from a huge loss, 36-60 at home to Indianerna, and makes several changes for this fixture. No less than four riders gets the boot from the losing line-up. Tomasz Gapinski, Roman Povazhny, Robin Törnqvist and Victor Palovaara - who scored a combined 14 points - are replaced by Henrik Gustafsson, Artem Laguta, Anders Mellgren and Magnus Karlsson, the latter who makes his season debut. Vargarna (home) 1. Adrian Miedzinski 2. Adam Shields 3. Tai Woffinden 4. Michael Jepsen Jensen 5. Krzysztof Kasprzak 6. Kim Nilsson 7. Scott Nicholls ( 8. Sebastian Carlsson ) Valsarna (away) 1. Magnus Karlsson ( 8. - ) *-*-* PIRATERNA - ELIT VETLANDA at Biltema Arena, Motala The Motala Pirates looks to have found their standard line-up. With Emil Sayfutdinov injured, their options are limited so Damian Balinski is still kept out of the line-up. Elit Vetlanda continues with the line-up that smashed Vargarna last week, the only change comes at the number eight position as Jacob Thorssell replaces Henric Lindqvist. Piraterna (home) 1. Greg Hancock 2. Robert Kosciecha 3. Jonas Davidsson 4. Rafal Dobrucki 5. Antonio Lindbäck 6. Linus Sundström 7. Maciej Janowski ( 8. Tomas Bäck ) Elit Vetlanda (away) 1. Lee Richardson 2. 4. Since the Nässjö track doesn't have floodlights, we didn't dare to start at 19:00. It would have been no problems if it was a clear evening, but if it would have been a cloudy evening or delays in the meeting, it would of been a high risk of the meeting being abandoned due to darkness. On another subject, a new date has been set for Nässjö's previously postponed home meeting against Hultsfred's Gymnasium. It will be held on Saturday August 28th.
  5. DIVISION 1 - WEDNESDAY 10/08/18 Nässjö - Ikaros Smederna 41-55 League leading Ikaros Smederna showed just why they're top of Division 1 as they got off to a massive 22-8 start at Nässjö, a hole that proved to be too much for the home side to climb out of in the end. Nässjö definitely wanted to keep their unbeaten streak at the Skogsvallen track in Nässjö (the only home loss so far was at Vetlanda), but despite a better period in the meeting, from heats 6 to 9, it wasn't meant to be. The deficit was cut to only four points after nine heats, 25-29, but the strength in depth simply was the reason why Ikaros Smederna could pull away once again after the interval. Though Henric Lindqvist won heat 11 against the previously unbeaten Daniel Gunnestad, the following three heats meant a 13-5 advantage for the Eskilstuna team, and the meeting was over. As team manager for Nässjö, I must admit I thought we should have been able to keep it closer, and even though you could easily find riders who should have scored more in the team, you'll have to stand up and give Ikaros Smederna credit for their performance. Team manager Jimmy Jansson has an interesting team, and with a couple of good additions, they shouldn't make a fool of themselves in the Allsvenskan league. Congrats! Some pictures are available on Elit Vetlanda's website. I'll post a link when the gallery on Johannes Ericsson's website are updated with pictures from this meeting. Andreas Berglund recorded a five ride paid maximum while guests Freddy Godlund and Marcus Åström scored ten points each for Eldarna. Gnistorna - Team Värmland 29-25 Both teams forced their way through the rain to get a result that would actually stand. Mathias Thörnblom scored a three ride maximum for the home side, in which Paul Mårtensson rode at number 7 after a 16 year absence to record a heat win and 4 paid 5. Guest Tim Gudmundsson had six points in three rides for Team Värmland.

  7. There are some changes to the line-ups for the Piraterna vs Rospiggarna meeting, listed below:
  8. Ikaros Smederna have an incredible line-up, with such a strength in depth. As you say, Nässjö may have the top end power, so it should be a highly interesting meeting, just hoping the weather allows the team to race on a fair track, the crowd could be in for a treat. I doubt that the Internet connection from the Skogsvallen track is good enough to allow a live streaming to take place. Filming with my mobile phone is impossible, because the last phone I bought was probably one of the simplest models available (Samsung E1310), without a camera in fact. I'm 99% sure there will be photographers at the meeting, so at least some pictures will be available from the meeting. I'' post a link if that's the case.
  9. SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 16 Tuesday August 17th 2010 VÄSTERVIK - LEJONEN at Sparbanken Arena Västervik Västervik will clinch their playoff berth if they win by more than ten points against Lejonen, and they have strengthen since last week's loss at Lejonen as both Rafal Okoniewski and Peter Ljung are back after injuries. They are replacing Nicolai Klindt and Joonas Kylmäkorpi who only managed three points between them. On the other hand, Lejonen are weakened since their home win a week ago, as they have opted not to use R/R for Nicki Pedersen, nor using the services of Leigh Adams. The Aussie duo of Troy Batchelor and Dave Watt steps in to cover for the Lions's top riders. Västervik (home) 0 (43) 1. Rafal Okoniewski 2. Peter Ljung 3. Chris Harris 4. Tomasz Jedrzejak 5. Tomasz Gollob 6. Denis Gizatullin 7. Robin Bergqvist ( 8. Robin Messing ) Lejonen (away) 0 (53) 1. Chris Holder 2. David Ruud 3. Mikael Max 4. Dave Watt 5. Troy Batchelor 6. Artur Mroczka 7. Dennis Andersson ( 8. Oliver Berntzon ) *-*-* VALSARNA - INDIANERNA at Emtbjörks AB Arena, Hagfors The Hagfors team don't have much to ride for anymore, but to avoid last place in the standing. Grigorijs Laguta is back in the line-up after missing the away fixture, as he´s replaces Krzysztof Jablonski. At reserve, Henrik Gustafsson has been scratched after some below-par performances, as local rider Robin Törnqvist takes the No 6 race jacket. Indianerna cruised to a 20 point win at home, and don't make any changes for tonight. However, it's a questionmark over the availability of Piotr Protasiewicz who crashed in Poland on Sunday, and may not be able to make it for tonight. In that case, R/R will be in use. Valsarna (home) 0 (38) 1. Grigorijs Laguta 2. Sebastian Ulamek 3. Tomasz Gapinski 4. Roman Povazhny 5. Daniel Nermark 6. Robin Törnqvist 7. Victor Palovaara ( 8. Anders Mellgren ) Indianerna (away) 0 (58) 1. Bjarne Pedersen 2. Niels-Kristian Iversen 3. Piotr Protasiewicz 4. Grzegorz Walasek 5. Magnus Zetterström 6. Renat Gafurov 7. Simon Gustafsson ( 8. Marcus Johansson ) *-*-* PIRATERNA - ROSPIGGARNA at Biltema Arena, Motala With Emil Sayfutdinov supposedly out for a while, the Pirates don't have many options left in their squad, besides Damian Balinski. Team manager Stefan Andersson has opted for the same eight riders that won at Rospiggarna a week ago, though only Robert Kosciecha and Tomas Bäck wears the same race jacket as then. Rospiggarna missed the services of Przemyslaw Pawlicki last week, as he was injured. Sebastian Aldén rode then, but didn't set the world on fire so Pawlicki takes his place. That's the only change that team manager Mikael Teurnberg has made for this away fixture. Piraterna (home) 0 (55) 1. Greg Hancock 2. Robert Kosciecha 3. Jonas Davidsson 4. Rafal Dobrucki 5. Antonio Lindbäck 6. Maciej Janowski 7. Linus Sundström ( 8. Tomas Bäck ) Rospiggarna (away) 0 (41) 1. Jesper B Monberg 2. Kauko Nieminen 3. Wieslaw Jagus 4. Przemyslaw Pawlicki 5. Ryan Sullivan 6. Anton Rosén 7. Mads Korneliussen ( 8. Linus Lydin ) *-*-* ELIT VETLANDA - VARGARNA at Vetlanda Motorstadion After last week's win at Vargarna despite being down by seven with four heats to go, Elit Vetlanda keeps the main body of the team intact. At reserve Martin Vaculik and last week's number eight junior Jonas Messing replaces Robin Aspegren and Adrian Gomolski, while Henric Lindqvist gets the nod at number eight, without scheduled rides. Only Adrian Miedzinski gets the same race jacket as last week, as Peter Jansson makes a lot of shuffling in the riding order. Furthermore, Daniel King replaces fellow Brit Tai Woffinden in the line-up, for his fourth away meeting of the season. King will look to improve his numbers of 6 paid 7 points in 11 rides so far. Elit Vetlanda (home) 0 (49) 1. Lee Richardson 2. Janusz Kolodziej 3. Jaroslaw Hampel 4. Thomas H Jonasson 5. Jason Crump 6. Martin Vaculik 7. Jonas Messing ( 8. Henric Lindqvist ) Vargarna (away) 0 (46) 1. Adrian Miedzinski 2. Michael Jepsen Jensen 3. Krzysztof Kasprzak 4. Daniel King 5. Adam Shields 6. Scott Nicholls 7. Kim Nilsson ( 8. André Hertzberg ) *-*-* Valsarna vs Indianerna is the Canal+ fixture of this week. All meetings will be covered via live updates on www.speedway.nu from 19:00 local time.
  10. Some? Judging how high up on the pedestal you're putting young Ward, he shouldn't be beaten by anyone in the U21 series. Anything else than a maximum must be a failure! So finishing second in a World Championship is choking? Dear God, are you for real or just trying to wind people up? If so, you have succeeded... (Restraining myself from posting something that would get me warned...)
  11. A fine meeting in Malmö yesterday, on a well prepared track with good, close and fast racing. Not a single fall or re-run was needed so it all run along smoothly, infront of 1041 persons. Mikael Max was, as can be seen in the scoresheet, in a class of his own and clocked a new track record (63,5 i heat 1) on his way to the maximum. Closer though for places 7-10 as both Freddie Eriksson and Linus Sundström looked destined to be eliminated after only 4 points in 4 rides, but a heat victory each in their last outings forced a race off for places 7-10. Freddie lead from the gate and Linus Eklöf looked a sure bet for second place, but Linus Sundström chased hard for four laps and eventually found a way through on the final meters of the heat. Good racing! 13. SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 15 Tuesday August 10th 2010 LEJONEN - VÄSTERVIK at Axelent Arena, Gislaved The Lions recorded an impressive win at Piraterna last week, and would like to take that form home to Gislaved. They'll have to do it without Troy Batchelor who got injured at Piraterna, and his fellow Aussie Dave Watt will also be missing, after scoring a single point in Motala. Instead, Nicki Pedersen is welcomed back into the line-up, alongside home town hero David Ruud. Peter Ljung has been scoring well this season, but Västervik will have to ride without him in Tuesday night's fixture, due to an injury picked up at Ipswich last Thursday. Also, the potential replacement of Rafal Okoniewski is still injured, meaning that Denis Gizatullin will make his Västervik debut at reserve. Lejonen (home) 1. Chris Holder 2. Leigh Adams 3. David Ruud 4. Nicki Pedersen 5. Mikael Max 6. Artur Mroczka 7. Dennis Andersson ( 8. Oliver Berntzon ) Västervik (away) 1. Tomasz Jedrzejak 2. Joonas Kylmäkorpi 3. Chris Harris 4. Nicolai Klindt 5. Tomasz Gollob 6. Robin Messing 7. Denis Gizatullin ( 8. Robin Bergqvist ) *-*-* INDIANERNA - VALSARNA at ICA Maxi Arena, Kumla The Indians rides in their first meeting since July 13th, and they looks to be at full strength for this one. Gustafsson/Gafurov will make a strong partnership at reserve, while Marcus Johansson makes his first start as a number eight junior, without scheduled rides. Valsarna rode a fairly solid meeting against the strong Elit Vetlanda side last week, before losing by a twelve point margin, but for this one they'll miss the Russian ace Grigorijs Laguta. He will be replaced by countrymen Roman Povazhny, a former Indianerna rider. Also, after scoring heavily as a second string, Seb Ulamek will get bigger responsibilities as a heat leader. Indianerna (home) 1. Niels-Kristian Iversen 2. Bjarne Pedersen 3. Piotr Protasiewicz 4. Grzegorz Walasek 5. Magnus Zetterström 6. Simon Gustafsson 7. Renat Gafurov ( 8. Anders Mellgren ) *-*-* ROSPIGGARNA - PIRATERNA at Orionparken, Hallstavik They went down fighting in Målilla last week, this time Rospiggarna heads home to Orionparken. Przemyslaw Pawlicki top scored with a 12 paid 15 at Dackarna, but has been replaced by Sebastian Aldén, with Mads Korneliussen dropping to reserve. I actually don't know if Pawlicki is unavaiable or not, but he has been riding poorly at home (2.00 home average in 12 heats compared to a 7.24 away average in 21 heats), so scratching him doesn't come as a surprise anyway. The Pirates should be looking to bounce back from the ugly home loss to Lejonen. The Motala outfit are at full strength, and also with several former Rospiggarna riders (Kosciecha, Hancock, Davidsson, Janowski) in the line-up. On paper, it should be a nice walk in the park, though in speedway, one never know... Rospiggarna (home) 1. Jesper B Monberg 2. Kauko Nieminen 3. Wieslaw Jagus 4. Sebastian Aldén 5. Ryan Sullivan 6. Maciej Janowski ( 8. Tomas Bäck ) *-*-* VARGARNA - ELIT VETLANDA at ICA Maxi Arena, Norrköping Despite losing at Västervik last Tuesday, Vargarna have opted for the same riders as then, with the exception of the number eight junior, now being Sebastian Carlsson. However, the rolling average dictates the change that Scott Nicholls drops to reserve while talanted Dane Michael Jespen Jensen takes a place in the main body of the team. Elit Vetlanda have opted for the line-up that should've been used at Hagfors. Seven days ago, Adrian Gomolski wasn't able to take his place in the team, but comes back at number seven, pushing Jonas Messing to the position as the number eight junior. At a track were Elit Vetlanda usually struggle, Lee Richardson has heat leader duties at number one, while Janusz Kolodziej drops to a second string position. Vargarna (home) 1. Adrian Miedzinski 2. Adam Shields 3. Tai Woffinden 4. Michael Jepsen Jensen 5. Krzysztof Kasprzak 6. Kim Nilsson 7. Scott Nicholls ( 8. Sebastian Carlsson ) Elit Vetlanda (away) 1. Lee Richardson 2. Janusz Kolodziej 3. Jaroslaw Hampel 4. Thomas H Jonasson 5. Jason Crump 6. Robin Aspegren 7. Adrian Gomolski ( 8. Jonas Messing ) *-*-* Vargarna vs Elit Vetlanda is the Canal+ fixture of this round. As usually, all meetings should be covered via live updates on www.speedway.nu from 19:00 local time.
  14. DIVISION 1 - SUNDAY 10/08/08 I have previously stated that the Division 1 round held in this week is the 14th in order, but it's actually round 15. Sorry for that. Round 15: Team Värmland - Nässjö 47-49 After winning the June meeting between these two teams in Nässjö by two points, the Nässjö side once again imposed a two point defeat to the Hagfors/Karlstad team. The home side, riding in Karlstad for yesterday's meeting, dominated the meeting by winning 11 of the 16 heats, but Nässjö still managed to win the meeting! Thomas H Jonasson made another appearence for Nässjö, this time for Robin Aspegren who rode for Newport against Somerset, but he found out that it isn't easy to score at will, even in Division 1. He was passed by Jeremia Thelaus in his first, and couldn't catch the flying first year rider Mathias Thörnblom in his fourth. Though when it mattered the most, Thomas took the win in heat 16 to preserve Nässjö's two point lead. Overall, it was the depth of the Nässjö line-up that came through in this one. Reserves Michael Sjöqvist (guest for the long term injured Kalle Fleetwood-Carlsson) and veteran Mikael Axelsson scored a maximum in the second reserve heat, heat 11, which eventually proved to be the matchwinning performance. Team Värmland must feel gutted over the second narrow loss against Nässjö this season. They fielded an excellent guest for the unavailable Robin Törnqvist in Gnistorna rider Mathias Thörnblom, but they severly missed the services of Victor Palovaara who rode for the Swedish U19 team in the European Junior Team Championship in Czech Republic. Thomas Didriksson, after an 18 year abscent, was drafted in so they could field a full line-up... Team Värmland 47 Anders Mellgren 3-3-3-1-2 = 12 (5) Adrian Bergqvist 0-1-1-0-0 = 2 (5) Jeremia Thelaus 3-2*-2-3-3 = 13+1 (5) Tomas Gunnerstad 0-3-F-1* = 4+1 (4) Mathias Thörnblom (guest) 3-3-2-3-1* = 12+1 (5) Marcus Broqvist 3-0-0-0-1 = 4 (5) Thomas Didriksson R-R-T-0 = 0 (4) Nässjö 49 Jacob Thorssell 2-1-1*-2-1* = 7+2 (5) Olof Nilsson (guest) 1*-0-2-0 = 3+1 (4) Thomas H Jonasson 2-R-3-2-3 = 10 (5) Henric Lindqvist 1*-3-2-1*-0 = 7+2 (5) Jonas Messing 2-3-2-0-2 = 9 (5) Michael Sjöqvist (guest) 2-2*-1*-3 = 8+2 (4) Mikael Axelsson 1*-1*-1-2* = 5+3 (4) Round 15: Eldarna - Stjärnorna Postponed due to rain. Round 8: Hultsfred's Gymnasium - Ikaros Smederna 44-52 Round 15: Hultsfred's Gymnasium - Gasarna 60-33 After losing to Ikaros Smederna earlier on the day, Hultsfred got two points from the meeting with Gasarna. Daniel Gunnestad rode as a guest for the home side's Thomas Ljung who withdrew from the Smederna meeting after a crash. Christian Isomettä and Mattias Persson only had one ride each for Hultsfred, but Dackarna's reserve team still scored an easy victory. For Gasarna, Andreas Bergström top scored with 11 points in 6 rides while Simon Lindh-Åström withdrew after a fall in his first outing.
  15. The first seven heats were all run under 60.0 seconds. Heat 8 was won in 61.9, and heat 9 in 83.1 seconds! I'm guessing it was a bit wet then...
  16. DIVISION 1 - WEDNESDAY 10/08/04 Round 14: Ikaros Smederna - Filbyterna 64-32 As Ghostwalker has said, Ikaros Smederna took another crushing victory. Even though the Eskilstuna team definitely is the best of the league, I must admit I thought Filbyterna would put of a bigger fight. Anyway, it's impressive to see that the home side never once got a last place from any of the heats. Round 14: Indianerna Junior - Gnistorna 29-67 Sure, the Indians looked to be a bit of a long tailed team on paper, but certainly not by this much IMO. Despite the huge scoreline, only Christian Agö was able to get a four ride paid maximum for Gnistorna. Overall, six of their riders scored at least a paid ten, while only Freddy Godlund managed that for the home side. Round 9: Nässjö - Stjärnorna 50-46 Nässjö remains unbeaten at the Skogsvallen track in Nässjö (the only "home" loss came when riding in Vetlanda), recording the fifth home win of the season. A 19-11 lead put the home side in charge, but seven last places for the home riders in the following eight heats put Stjärnorna back into the meeting, tying it a 39-39 with three heats to go. Jonas Messing and Robin Aspegren scored the eventually matchwinning maximum in heat 14, with both nominated races ending with tied heats. David Ruud won all of his heats, but despite winning heat 16, Messing/Larsson packed the minor positions for Nässjö, to keep the margin between the teams at four points. With only six heat victories on the night, Nässjö were still able to win it, thanks to four 5-1's in those six heats. Guess it's a strength to win, despite not fireing on all cylinders. A sharper performence is most likely needed to win in the 14th round meeting at Team Värmland on Sunday. So, a double header in Målilla on Sunday!

  18. I think they'll do whatever they can to get it underway, as long as it stops raining, and that forecast does look better. Dackarna vs Rospiggarna will be a walk over, as you say, so I would personally take my chances with Motala, if those were my options.
  19. klart.se: Rain all day, a bit heavier towards the evening (2 mm/h) yr.no: overcast with the possibility of rain until 21:00 this evening smhi.se: light rain from 14:00 to 20:00 It's just as usual, the three websites shows three different forecasts, but in general, it doesn't look very good, does it?
  20. Appearently, Adrian Gomolski got injured in Poland on Sunday (concussion and a sore shoulder), so his late replacement will be Jonas Messing, while Henric Lindqvist steps in at the number eight position, without scheduled rides.
  21. Such a shame, because one would think that in such a small speedway country, all should work towards the goal to make the sport bigger.
  22. SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 14 Tuesday August 3rd 2010 DACKARNA - ROSPIGGARNA at G&B Arena, Målilla League leading Dackarna with 1 loss in 13 meetings at home against last placed Rospiggarna with 1 win in 11 attempts, that doesn't seem to be a close one, with Dackarna being at full strength as well. No major changes have been made in the Rospiggarna camp, as team manager Mikael Teurnberg has opted for the same riders as the home meeting against Dackarna. However, the rolling average dictate one change, as Kauko Nieminen takes a place in the main body of the team, and Przemyslaw Pawlicki dropping to reserve. Dackarna (home) 0 (61) 1. They'll do it with the same riders as last time. Lejonen have opted for a couple of changes in their quest to chase down third place. Piotr Swiderski and David Ruud, who scored a combined 7 points at home, have been replaced by Leigh Adams and Artur Mroczka, as Nicki Pedersen is obviously still unavailable. He's replacering Czech Matej Kus who scored only 1 point in 3 outings at Elit Vetlanda. Elit Vetlanda can welcome back British WTC rider Lee Richardson who have missed two meetings, at least one due to illness. Adrian Gomolski also steps in at reserve, leaving last meeting's second string duo of Martin Vaculik and Patrick Hougaard outside of the line-up, while Thomas H Jonasson takes a place in the main body. Also, Joonas Kylmäkorpi gets another chance in the line-up after scoring a credible 7 points, meaning that Nicolai Klindt, who made a late withdrawal last time, is left out. After a somewhat slow start, Vargarna have got going, and now they're boosted by the return of Tai Woffinden, stepping in at second string. 23. Yes, unfortunately. He broke a collarbone and suffered a major concussion at the FIM Youth Gold Trophy 250cc in Czech Republic on July 10th. I spoke to him yesterday, and the rehab are definitely going in the right direction. He hopes to be able to practise early next week, and if things go well he may be in the Nässjö side for Wednesday's previously postponed meeting versus Stjärnorna, though I feel it's more likely he'll ride at Team Värmland on Sunday. We'll have to wait and see how the practise goes.
  24. DIVISION 1 - ROUND 14 - WEDNESDAY 10/27/28 Gnistorna - Ikaros Smederna 51-45 Despite being (co-) team manager for Nässjö, I simply can't say anything other than that this meeting was the most interesting of the 14th round. The home side started stronger to record 8 of the first 9 heat victories, for a 32-22 lead. Ikaros Smederna worked their way back into this one, especially thanks to Linus Eklöf and Daniel Gunnestad who scored 15 points of the away team's 21 points in heats 10-15, but they still needed a maximum in the last heat to force a draw. However, Niklas Klingberg made no mistake and scored his fourth win of the evening to win heat 16, and the meeting, for Gnistorna. Klingberg was top scorer for the Malmö team with 13 points, but got good support from Christian Agö (replacement for the unavailable Mattias Nilsson) and Robert Pettersson, both with 11 points. For Ikaros Smederna, Linus Eklöf scored a heat win and five second places for 13 points, while Daniel Gunnestad had a paid 14 from his place at reserve. Filbyterna - Hultfred's Gymnasium 60-35 Dackarna's reserve team started well and had a 15-15 tie after five heats, but the following four heats gave a massive 18-6 advantage for Filbyterna, and Hultsfred weren't able to climb back out of that hole. Sebastian Carlsson had a paid 13 score for the Linköping side, while Joel Larsson looks to have been the only Hultsfred rider to trouble the opposition throughout the night, as he recorded 12 points in five rides. Gasarna - Team Värmland 53-42 Avesta side Gasarna opened up a ten point lead early on, and Team Värmland weren't able to get closer despite using some tactical substitutions before the interval. Värmland only took four heat victories, compared to twelve for the home team, where Sebastian Aldén scored a five ride full maximum. Anton Rosén top scored with a 11 paid 13 for Team Värmland, as a guest rider. Stjärnorna - Indianerna Junior 54-42 The Bäck brothers gave Stjärnorna the lead in the first reserve heat (heat 2), and when they scored another maximum in the second reserve heat (heat 11), the Stars were totally in command. Andreas Messing completed his four ride full maximum in heat 14, to win it for the Hallstavik team. The Indians had three riders scoring 34 points, but the remaining riders didn't do very well. Nässjö - Eldarna 73-22 Only Tommie Lundgren provided some opposition on the night with 8 points, despite an engine failure while leading his first. For a makeshift Nässjö side, Jonas Messing scored a five ride full maximum, while co-manager Benny Woentin stepped out of an almost three years retirement to score a paid 10 at reserve. His partner at reserve, Johannes Fredh, rode for the first time in a few months, but still scored a four ride paid maximum. Next round is split between Wednesday (Indianerna Junior - Gnistorna and Ikaros Smederna - Filbyterna) and Sunday (Hultsfred's Gymnasium - Gasarna, Eldarna - Stjärnorna, Team Värmland - Nässjö). Also, the previously postponed meeting between Nässjö and Stjärnorna from round 9 will be held on Wednesday, hopefully at the Nässjö track.
