It's one of the easiest tracks to ride in Sweden, I guess, once you get the set-up right. It's not a rutty trick-track that produces many mistakes by the riders, and if the leader rides without mistakes, it will be hard to pass. That goes for most tracks anyway. I do believe we want a bit more grip than what was at display on Tuesday, because of the riders in that line-up, only 2 or 3 of our riders gates well on a consistent basis. If we've had more grip, Andersen wouldn't have won either heats 2 or 11, as an example. All in all, one may criticize the Vetlanda track, but it provides the riders with a safe track, and being Clerk of the Course (for some of the Elitserien meetings), that certainly makes me happy. Also, we (Vetlanda) are not of the tracks that have been forced to cancel/abandon/postpone meetings because the track can't handle the required number of heats. And by that, I don't mean rain-offs, but meetings that (should) have been ridden in perfect weather conditions, but still not held full time. So why watch it? Personally, if I expect a meeting to be dull, I don't watch it. Guess that's just me... Not particulary well known on the national stage I would say, and I can't remember one being on a national TV or radio show since the "Tony Rickardsson era", except post-meeting interviews in news broadcastings and such, of course. On the local stage, that's a different thing. Many teams are from small towns/cities, so the teams/riders get good coverage in local media, for sure. Fredrik Lindgren has made a commercial for a Vetlanda based charcuterie company (Stensåkra Charkuteri), which is one of his sponsors. I have seen the clip on , but I have no idea if the commercial was nationally broadcasted, or just regionalized. Can't remember anything else...

Yes, according to the Race MC-Sport newspaper, David Ruud rides at number 3 and Oliver Berntzon at number 7. So that looks fairly confirmed, I must say.
-
That would explain why he is listed at number two tomorrow. Most teams seems to prefer to use R/R at that number. Well, we'll have to wait and see I guess.
-
Promising information. I guessed that the practise was on Friday, so just to be sure not to miss that, I booked a flight to arrive on mid day on Thursday. I'll come around to the stadium on Friday for sure.
-
Sounds reasonable, but I would count on both Maciej Janowski and Martin Vaculik to launch a serious attack on the medals, as well as the Swedes. Could be four interesting rounds, for sure.

SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 9 Tuesday June 28th 2011 VALSARNA - VÄSTERVIK at Tallhult's Motorstadion, Hagfors There are no major surprises in the line-up for Valsarna this week. Ludvig Lindgren will miss the previously postponed meeting in Stockholm on Monday, but will fill the junior position on Tuesday night, as listed. The Laguta brothers have swapped race jackets, while Krzysztof Buczkowski remains outside the line-up. With Adam Shields being ruled out for the remainder of the season, Västervik have signed a replacement in Krzysztof Jablonski, a former Valsarna rider. Jablonski makes his season debut at second string, replacing countrymen Rafal Okoniewski who rode in the team's previous meeting. Also noticable is the fact that Peter Ljung drops to reserve, with Nicolai Klindt moving in the other direction. Valsarna (home) 1. Artem Laguta 2. Grigory Laguta 3. Scott Nicholls 4. Dave Watt 5. Daniel Nermark 6. Ludvig Lindgren 7. Tomasz Gapinski Västervik (away) 1. Sebastian Ulamek 2. Krzysztof Jablonski 3. Chris Harris 4. Nicolai Klindt 5. Tomasz Jedrzejak 6. Pontus Aspgren 7. Peter Ljung *-*-* LEJONEN - VARGARNA at NTEX Arena, Gislaved The Lions of Gislaved comes from one home meeting to another, but only Darcy Ward and Dennis Andersson wears the same race jackets as in the loss to Elit Vetlanda. Sebastian Aldén replaces Leon Madsen who scored only 1 point last week, and the rolling average makes the changes that David Ruud drops to reserve, while Troy Batchelor takes a second string position. Chris Holder is a non-starter for Lejonen this week as well. The Wolves of Norrköping rides in the second away meeting in a row, losing at Indianerna last week by four points. From that line-up, Krzysztof Kasprzak and André Hertzberg are replaced by Michael Jepsen Jensen and Eric Andersson, with the former making his seasonal debut for Vargarna, to form an all Danish duo at number 1 & 2. Lejonen (home) 1. Mikael Max 2. Sebastian Aldén 3. Darcy Ward 4. Troy Batchelor 5. Kenneth Bjerre 6. Dennis Andersson 7. David Ruud Vargarna (away) 1. Nicki Pedersen 2. Michael Jepsen Jensen 3. Adrian Miedzinski 4. Tai Woffinden 5. Lee Richardson 6. Eric Andersson 7. Kim Nilsson *-*-* PIRATERNA - HAMMARBY at Biltema Arena, Motala Second placed Piraterna comes home after a succesful away win at Dackarna last week. Despite that fact, team manager Stefan Andersson has opted to replace Jesper B Monberg with Daniel Davidsson, possibly in order to be able to put Przemyslaw Pawlicki at reserve, which hadn't been possible with both Monberg and (Linus) Sundström in the team. And as usual, R/R is the facility for Rafal Dobrucki. Stockholm team Hammarby rolls in to Motala with no surprises in the line-up, they field the seven most frequent riders of their 2011 squad. Two of them, Grzegorz Walasek and Robert Kosciecha, are former Piraterna riders. Piraterna (home) 1. Greg Hancock 2. Daniel Davidsson 3. Jonas Davidsson 4. Rafal Dobrucki R/R 5. Maciej Janowski 6. Przemyslaw Pawlicki 7. Linus Sundström Hammarby (away) 1. Rory Schlein 2. Magnus Zetterström 3. Robert Kosciecha 4. Grzegorz Walasek 5. Tomasz Gollob 6. Alexander Edberg 7. Andrej Karpov *-*-* ELIT VETLANDA - DACKARNA at Vetlanda Motorstadion, Vetlanda After winning last week's derby at Lejonen, the management of Elit Vetlanda have opted for the same seven riders that got the job done in Gislaved. Peter Karlsson and Thomas H Jonasson swaps second string positions, as well as the reserves swapping race jackets between themselves. Patrick Hougaard could become an option in future meetings, as he made his comeback from injury when scoring 4 points for Grudziadz in Polish Liga 1 action last night. Elit Vetlanda's closest neighbours Dackarna comes from a home loss to Piraterna, but have also chosen the same seven riders as last week. The management have shuffled the riding order among the heat leaders, and the rolling average moves Daniel King out of reserve, where Hans Andersen rides for the first time in many years, I reckon. Joel Larsson continues as the junior rider, ahead of Anders Mellgren. Elit Vetlanda (home) 1. Janusz Kolodziej 2. Thomas H Jonasson 3. Jaroslaw Hampel 4. Peter Karlsson 5. Jason Crump 6. Pawel Hlib 7. Jacob Thorssell Dackarna (away) 1. Rune Holta 2. Daniel King 3. Andreas Jonsson 4. Artur Mroczka 5. Fredrik Lindgren 6. Hans Andersen 7. Joel Larsson *-*-* With the previously postponed round 8 meeting Hammarby vs Valsarna being held at 19:00 later today, I won't list the current standing until after that meeting has ended tonight. *-*-* All of the meetings above should be covered by live updates on www.svemo.se/speedway from 19:00. The Canal+ meeting of this week is the local derby between Elit Vetlanda and Dackarna. For those of you wondering who I am in person, look out for a big guy in a yellow west (in the pit area), because that will be me, being Clerk of the course for tomorrow's meeting. Enjoy!

Not quite sure how it works when the re-staging date is so close to the original date. Usually, a new line-up should be submitted, but neither teams have had a meeting since Tuesday so....I don't know. I heard rumours that Grigory wouldn't be able to ride, but that's denied in one of Valsarna's local newspapers, Värmlands Folkblad. However, it says that Ludvig Lindgren will not be there, and that Victor Palovaara will take his place. That's the only changed I have read about anyway.
-
Another question about the U19 final; When is the start time on the first reserve date (Sunday)? If that's needed, heaven forbid... (Adria Airways cancelled my Monday flight back home, and wants to put me on the Sunday flight instead, but I must be sure I'm able to catch the meeting if it's postponed on Saturday...)
-
Ah, knew there was something I had forgotten to write... Anyway, the answer is YES. It's actually held tomorrow, Monday the 27th of June.
-
Great job by the Leszno juniors today. I've been impressed by Tobiasz Musielak in all the Leszno meetings I've seen on the TV streaming, but he has good backing by Kamil Adamczewski today as well. BTW, interesting stuff from Liga 2 today, as Krosno beats Ostrow by 47-43! Last week, Ostrow humilated Krosno by 74-16...
-
Ty rides for Lublin in the third tier, called Liga 2. Lublin didn't ride in round 9 (last Sunday), and not this Sunday either, in round 10. However, they meet the previously unbeaten Ostrow team on Thursday, and won! He scored 2-2-2-2*-3 as Lublin took the honours by 50-38. http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/06/23/hit-godny-swej-nazwy-relacja-z-meczu-lubelski-wegiel-kmz-lub/

OK, thanks. One of the Swedes better have a great qualifier then, because it would be great to have someone to cheer for in the final. In any case, sixteen U19 riders should provide plenty of action me thinks. From f-s-p's "Finnish News" thread: SWEDEN: Victor Palovaara, Joel Larsson, Tim Gudmundsson, Mathias Thörnblom, Jacob Thorssell, Oliver Berntzon FINLAND: Jiri Nieminen, Mika Loppi, Timo Lahti DENMARK: Jonas B Andersen, Kasper Lykke Nielsen, Kenni Nissen, Michael Jepsen Jensen, Mikkel B Jensen, Mikkel Michelsen, Nicolai Busk Jakobsen Jensen and Jensen must be favourites to have two of the places, but it should be one h*ll of a battle for that third place.
-
With Slovenia having one guaranteed in the final, is it true that only 3 riders advances from the Nordic qualifier in Finland on July 2nd? That's how I interpret the supplementary regulations on UEM's website anyway, but I must admit that only 3 places from the Nordic round sounds too little in comparison to what the remaining European countries have the possibilities to ride for... Just curious.

Allsvenskan Live On The Net
Anders replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Yes, that was poor, on several accounts. First of all, Avantia only tracked 6 riders so they had to ride with only one rider in four heats. Second, being up 39-27 with four heats to go should certainly be enough for the win. However, good management by Avantia to give it a "last" shot with a double tactical substitution in heat 12. Jimmy Jansson and Stefan Jarl, team managers of Ikaros Smederna, weren't happy at all after the meeting. I know them well, but almost didn't go to see them afterwards, because I can only imagine the feelings that were bubbling inside them. As a neutral, I did expect Ikaros Smederna to win it, but it proved to be much more of a meeting than I thought at the beginning. Not that many entertaining heats, but the drama at the end made it all, from a neutral standpoint. Avantia junior André Hertzberg fought hard for his points and was the most exciting rider of the show, though Daniil Ivanov definitely was man of the match with an incredible performance, closely followed by Tero Aarnio. Always nice to meet up with all the friends in Eskilstuna! -

Yes, I thought so as well but was surprised to see him in Dackarna's squad on SVEMO's website. It's Jurica Pavlic that's not in the squad, accoring to svemo.se. Don't know if a mistake has been made, or what the deal is... Don't know. Lejonen's own website just mention that he won't be in the line-up. No reasons given.
