Kings Lynn v Poole Wednesday August 29th
tellboy replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Thank you Skidder, think you are the first Poole fan to come on here and actually say a well done to the Stars. The others can't seem to give any credit to Lynn,it just all seems down to the Poole riders why we won last night.According to most Poole fans anyway. -

You better ask them next time why they weren't trying,i would love to hear their responses.Give me a reason as to why they wouldn't try?Woryna seemed the only one who possibly didn't bother when he didn't gate he did give up.I may as well say we weren't trying at Poole then. -

Of course the Poole riders were trying. You have to take the defeat on the chin and give praise to Lynn because they were by far the better team on the night.I don't think the riders were happy throwing hundreds of pounds away do you? -

Don't forget Thomas Jorgensen,Redcar. Poole's No7 Jakobsen doesn't ride in the Championship -

How can you have a guest for Covatti,5th in your averages i believe.Or is there a different rule as he is doubling up? Lynn will desperately miss NKI around there, even though he is having a poor season he does seem to have a liking for the Oak Tree Arena.I would get Charles Wright to guest even though he isn't up to Iversen's standard he could upset a few -

Won't be able to use him for Allen next month.NBJ's Championship average goes up to 6.40 in a couple of days. -

You seem to spend a lot of time on here about this meeting considering you think it was a nothing meeting. This result has obviously hurt a bit. That's what's wrong with the sport.League winners deserve some kind of recognition for finishing top imo.Try explaining to someone who don't go to speedway you race a whole league campaign and if you finish top you don't automatically win the league. Some would think it's crazy. -

Poole were woeful. As for lowering their averages this result would hardly put a dent into their current averages anyway,so it wasn't that. They were simply beaten by the better team on the night. They really didn't like a grippy track early doors, got better when it slickened off a bit. S.Lambert said in the meeting in the bar afterwards that it was the grippiest track he's rode for a few years and wished more tracks were like it. Poole nearly had their play-off chances ruined when Kurtz lost control and nearly wiped out Josh.G on the back straight, luckily they missed each other by no more than a couple of inches and an accident was avoided. Remember that, that was Shovlar again, but do we expect anything else from him. -

Just had a word from a friend at the track, and it's dry there -

Compensation, that's what Skidder said isn't it.King's Lynn would be skint now with the amount of times our Danes were meant to be riding in Denmark. -

Just had that in Wisbech, but seems to be brightening up.Looking at the rainfall radar on the met office it looks like the rain may just skirt Lynn, but not like what we have had.Just about the amount what Buster would put on the track just beforehand. So it doesn't seem to be to bad. -

Well according to one of your fellow Poole fans you could have had Klindt if your P/O place wasn't assured. He actually said from the horses mouth if there is still doubt Klindt will line up for Poole against King's Lynn.So i take it the horses mouth must be Ford,so don't believe everything he says.Must be a money thing -

I would think Ford/Middleditch would want all 4 points if they could. That would show their intent on winning the league and play-offs and put a warning out to the other contenders.Surely they will say 4 points here and 3 at home that would leave Lynn needing 2 points from Wolves and Somerset away, that's providing they beat Leicester at home twice. Then that would give Poole the choice anyway. Weather is dry here in Wisbech now after rain during the early morning.Meant to be dry all day now so don't see any problems whatsoever. -

Some riders a suited to different tracks. It seems more Somerset riders a suited to Poole's track than Lynn riders. By the looks of ht 15 on Monday you can't ride too close to the inside or else you will be going home with two extra tonsils and a high pitched voice -
I love to see an underdog win that's why i am praying for Lynn to win the play-offs.Written off by many fans and speedway pundits alike before a wheel had even been turned way back in March.

Great result for the Stars, but a poor advert for speedway. Track looked very tricky early doors and the only overtakes were really through mistakes. Why is it at Leicester once a rider assumes 1st position he just seems to go unchallenged and pulls away throughout the race.Even though Lynn have a decent record there, after the rain off fiasco of a few years ago i haven't been back. And after watching last night it may take a few more years.

Having just seen this,i find it disgusting to have a hole like that in a track.Talk about riders safety. What an earth can cause a hole like that,it's not the bikes that's for sure. The last Poole meeting against Somerset that was on tv there was a hole appearing in between bends 1and 2 again.Remember seeing Harris hit it and a Somerset rider, can't remember who now though. I'm all for a little home advantage, but that is definitely not right. -

They can't use him simply because Jakobsen's average is higher than that of Riss. 8 day rule wouldn't come into it as Jakobsen rode there for Poole and not as a guest.8 day rule only applies to guest appearances. -

Don't think any Lynn fans are underestimating Somerset whatsoever. If you read it properly most Lynn fans apart from Danny Smith would prefer to ride Belle Vue if they make it and if Lynn got the choice in the semi final. The reason being Lynn don't do so well against Poole. This would leave Poole v Somerset in the other semi, the only team that could beat Poole over 2 legs. Now we are not underestimating Somerset at all it's just that we feel we would have a better chance if we were to face Somerset in the final rather than Poole. I tried to make it a bit clearer for you, maybe we put things differently up here to you lot from down South -
Not sure whether that's allowed now.

Seems like everything is falling into place for Poole. Seriously hope he is ok and can take his place tomorrow.
