Redcar V Newcastle 16/07/2015
RedcarRacer replied to StevePark's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
People are picking and choosing, good crowd against Somerset as people want to see BRady Kurtz etc - Redcar-Newcastle this year is two of the worst teams in the country, hence no interest. -
Redcar V Somerset Thursday 9th July
RedcarRacer replied to pvm's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
As a Redcar fan I am not bothered, it does not matter to us - take the points off but we still pay Matey as he deserved it and our management dont really care about our placing anyway so sure they wont be that bothered. First meeting in a few weeks for me, and again what a great crowd considering the dross that has been served up to the fans for last couple of years now - some clubs would kill for attendances like that, god knows how good we would be if we had a decent team. Anyway, good meeting all in - but just wanted to say this was my first personal viewing of Brady Kurtz and he is jaw droppingly good, I dont want to pile pressure on the boy but he was using lines I had only seen the likes of Woffinden ride at the STMP coming inside off second bend for instance. To me looks a younger version of Crump and best young Aussie since Holder or Ward, great to see. Also pleased with JB Andersen for Bears and although he looks a bit short on power, seems a very good rider. And despite the decent performance, for the life of me I can't see how Ben Morley still has a team place with us, hasnt progressed one bit since the start of the year...people slag of Dilger and Konopka, but he is much worse - we must be getting some sort of bonus from the BSPA to keep the Brit in! -
It is him!

Konopka Dropped By Bears

Grondal destined for Peterborough isnt he? Cant imagine Redcar signing anyone better than average. -
Changes afoot by Redcar with Konopka telling facebook he is dropped, personally I would have let Morley go as he is awful - but hey ho. Seems like a Dane according to rumours - so looking around seemingly it could be Jonas B Andersen, Patrick Tarp or Claes Nedermaerk...
-
Sounds like he could be Redcar's new signing?
-
Of course the EL is the best league, idiotic to think otherwise. Yes like many I prefer PL, but that is only because Teesside speedway is entrenched in that tier of speedway. And anyone watchig Redcar this season will testify the standard, mainly from the home team, is appauling. Everyone keeps mentioning Birmingham, but that was the shocking promotion - I read Tony Mole saying they turned down his offers to help run it etc, so Birmingham with good management could easily be still in the top-flight. As with every speedway club, promotion is key - you can get lucky, like at Redcar, where the fans keep turning up despite the dross being served up, week after, week after...

Redcar V Sheffield (lc) 5th May
RedcarRacer replied to crazysue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Congrats to our Yorkshire neighbours - hardly surprising though... -
Nonsense, Morley is one of the worst riders ever for Redcar which is saying something, he is making Konopka look good... And as for signing Adam Roynon - my god, Brian Havelock thinks so little of the club that he takes in a rider who turned his back on the fans and club, but now we are helping him out. Although the chances of him lasting the 28 days without getting injured are limited anyway. Dear me, can things get much worse for the club - depressing beyond belief...

Premier League 2015 Predictions
RedcarRacer replied to cambpanther's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Totally agree Spinny and have said this before, this will annoy some on here as we all on this section are PL fans at heart - but if you want the best team in speedway in Britain then you need to be top-flight. Depends what they want. -
The BSPA can enforce a loan deal, it doesnt even have to be a full transfer - so Havvy's demands can have little impact - he will be riding for Glasgow end of story and no guarantee whatsoever that Redcar will get a transfer fee.
-
Not a bad 1 to 7 from Havvy snr, better than last year? Yeah I think so. Bjerre v Lawson - Not much in it. Skidmore Robson v WIlkinson - Could be two points better off. Hall v Lemon - Again a big improvement for me. Kus v Summers - Probs edge towards Summers, but Kus could match him. Graversen Konopka So all in all it is a better team, Hall and Konopka are the two who would really need to push on to make us a very good side and as long as the others held their average. Won't win the league, but we might challenge for a play-off spot...
-
Surely this new promotion must be looking towards EL - I bet the BSPA are already looking closely, a Scottish side would be huge boost to top flight.
-
I know it is a different level and league, but BSPA have set precedents before like with Batchelor and Andersen deals, if a rider really wants to ride for a club which isnt his parent club - they can force through a loan. SUre if Glasgow want him, no matter what Summers will be there. Similar to Kus is he didnt want to ride for Redcar he wouldnt be.
-
I have been one of Matej Kus's biggest fans and have been since the day he arrived. I am delighted to have him back and I for one never wanted us to let him go. And for anyone to suggest Matej had no support from Redcar, through his bad times is lunacy, but again considering who it is - not surprising.
-
I am very happy to have Kus back, always been a big fan although he is a bit marmite with some Redcar fans, but if we are going to signing a gating foreigner, it may as well be one we know can be very good around STMP on his day.
-
Condemn? Hoping a club goes to the wall - not really the same thing - he didnt just slag the fans he wished the club's demise...a thug on a motorbike, is still a thug!
-
Why doesnt any supposed Newcastle fan condemn his comments made about Redcar, truly as disgraceful as anything he has had to put up with. Riders like Fisher and Barker who have had arguably worse reactions never resorted to such disgusting behaviour but that is just the moarility of Worrall and most Diamonds fans it would seem.
-
Hats off to Sheffield - a deal which I am sure most EL clubs would have done. Hope he is as good as we all think he will be.
-
Great call.
-
Richard Lawson clearly not happy with Havvy snr comments, but then again wont be the first Havvy has he had his own version of events - not sure believe we could have landed Robert Lambert - surely Newcastle bound? http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/speedway/speedway-brian-havelock-delighted-lasse-8219278 Richard Lawson@RlracingLawson https://twitter.com/gazettespeedway/status/540172117904351232 … - Strange must have spoken to a different Richard Lawson. Sorry my 9.3 average was not good enough. #comical
-
More than happy with young Mr Bjerre, always performs well at STMP and should be as good if not better than Lawson. And that means no Worrall which is the icing on the cake.
-
I am not saying I would not have Robson, but his average is only going one way and hopefully he will be at 5 to keep him away from the big hitters but I have a horrible feeling he will be our no 1 and if he is, god help us. And Skidmore, hasnt he dropped his average every year since he arrived? Solid number 2 - nothing more, nothing less.
