  1. Would be wonderful , but highly unlikely . Both the Bandits and the Comets are minging round Overtaking Nirvana , whilst the Monarchs are perfectly capable of picking up at least a point at Shielfield and Derwent Parks .
  2. Waiting with bated breath for the BSF wages expert , Fred , to come on and give us his theory why Wolbert was rubbish yesterday .
  3. God that was painful to watch . Consistantly outgated , and predictably outclassed . Losing Rusty , especially at home , made it a mountain to climb . And it was a mountain we never remotely looked like climbing . What do you do with Wolbert ? Looked classy in the race he did gate in , didn't look remotely interested when he didn't gate , twice disgracefully riding into the pits before the race was done . Pijper was again our best rider , though Kasper as usual tried his heart out ( Wolbert take note ) . If only Kasper could gate , though he wouldn't be as entertaining . As for the Smugs , only weakness was Samantha . So another season's worth of pumpings from our pals , not easy to take .
  4. If he could gate he'd be a 9 point man , but not half as entertaining to watch
  5. Think we better give the Scandanavian market a miss in future . When we roll up in either Copenhagen or Stockholm and cry " bring out your dead " , out pops a Palovaara , or a Peter Juul , or an Anders Andersen or a Robin Tornqvist . Even back in our most successful period in the early nineties we somehow managed to acquire Mads Kornelliussen's less talented older brother Tim . There is one Scandanavian i would like to keep hold off , so if Uncle Len is willing to listen and we have the readies , then i'd make young Kasper an asset .
  6. Been a bit of a damp squib . Too weather affected leading to the present spate of double headers , too many foreign riders disappearing over to the continent at the weekend and missing their club's fixtures , and the doubling up/down thing has been a total shambles .
  7. Not a glass half full attitude at all . We can all see what cost us tonight , but with the signing deadline now past , there's no point dwelling on it and wondering what if .
  8. Ah well , the predictable 5-1 came to fruition . Still it's a point which keeps us clear of the battle for the wooden spoon .
  9. Plus 4 points from Hall's r/r rides is more than he's been scoring . Heat 14 vital now cause as you say , i cant see anything other than a 5-1 in 15
  10. Reserves are always vital , your duff reserves is slightly more damaging than our duff number 1
  11. Give him a chance Gaz , Inspector Rebus might be away collecting evidence as we speak
  12. It's taken a while , but at last Kevin Wolbert is consistently showing the kind of form we hoped for at the start of the season . We look a pretty solid outfit at home now , despite a passenger at number 1 . Of course that assertion will come under it's toughest scrutiny next Sunday when Greyfriars Bobby's septet of smug comes calling .
  13. Fred is speechless as well . I'm quite sure it was some anti -Glasgow nonsense he was struggling to get out , but failed miserably You keep coming out with this stuff . Have you any solid evidence to suggest Glasgow riders aren't being paid , or are you just taking the terrace tittle tattle over at Overtaking Nirvana on a Friday night as gospel ? Please elaborate cause we'd all like to know
  14. Great win today , great Comets support today - a great credit to their club
  15. I like young Perry , done well in a couple of guest appearances at Ashfield this season
  16. Wouldn't it be absolutely fantastic if after a season of The Smugs and Somerset looking to have it between them , Berwick or Scunthorpe could spoil things and come through to be champions
  17. Lovely morning with blue skies here , hoping for a big contingent up from Cumbria to enjoy what should be a belter of a meeting . And our lot , remember your £2 off vouchers from last week
  18. Exactly , you are just as liable to have your meeting rained off in July or August as you are in March or October with our unpredictable weather . Double headers are a last resort for promoters , but sometimes it just cant be helped . Hope both lads hurt last night make a full and speedy recovery , it's a cruel sport at times .
  19. Seems Rusty will be in for a busy night . After , hopefully , repeating his Derwent Park heroics from a fortnight ago against the Comets . He will be trying to repeat the feat in Somerset colours after the Tigers meeting
