  1. Shawfield Powderhall and my very first Southern tour took me to Canterbury , so that has special memories .
  2. Despite the negative aspects of the forum , the know alls , the bitching , the bullying . The BSF has greatly enhanced my enjoyment of speedway . Before i would go to a meeting , then go home and have no contact with speedway till the following week's meeting . Now i can come on here any time i like and communicate with fellow fans . Plus i've made some very good and long lasting friends thanks to this forum , people i would never had the pleasure of meeting otherwise .
  3. Been well documented elsewhere on this forum that Jason Doyle , Alex Davies and Rohan Tungate are all experiencing difficulties
  4. I think the visa problems some Aussies are finding has thrown an additional spanner in the works . Where last week one or two riders might have thought about travelling to Glasgow every week , those riders will now be holding fire to see what happens next .
  5. It's Pontus Aspgren who rode for Rye House last year , that's signed for Somerset . The previous poster meant Robin Aspgren who rode for Berwick last year , he's still available .
  6. There's quite a speedway gathering at the ice hockey on a Saturday night in Glasgow , and the names of Doyle , Tungate and Davies were mentioned in relation to this . Though how an established rider of Doyle's calibre has problems is beyond me .
  7. Interesting one this . If Doyle is forced out in 2014 , do the Rebels promotion go back cap in hand to Nick Morris and what would his reaction be ? . Though i cant understand how someone like Doyle , who has ridden over here quite a few seasons , has visa problems at all . He's proved how capable a rider he is .
  8. And we could get Earl in the pits , and the two old women doing the commentry
  9. Agreed , but sometimes the unwarranted attack on another poster has to be challenged . Hopefully this will be the year British speedway turns the corner . I'm a great believer on things being cyclical , we have the World Champion - lets hope that can inspire some more of our promising young riders to make the next leap and begin to take us back to the strength we had in the late seventies and early eighties .
  10. Dear me . This nastiness should have been sent by PM , so the rest of us didn't have to read it . Totally over the top and uncalled for I've scoured the ice hockey thread , Gustix , and i see no digressions or anything inflamatory . Back to the topic at hand . Halifaxtiger summed it up , good weather and well prepared racetracks . We don't need much more than that to give us an entertaining experience at the speedway
  11. If this does turn out to be indeed the case , then well done whoever it was that done their homework at Berwick . But we shall see once the season gets underway .
  12. For many visiting fans , with Peterborough racing on a Tuesday night , a Wednesday night at Owlerton would be perfect . A wee midweek mini tour up and down the A1
  13. Good points Vince , though i would also add the overcomplification of the sport by the rule makers has had a detrimental effect . That and the fact that the bikes seem too powerful for a lot of tracks and that doesn't offer good racing on tracks which could also be prepared a bit better .
  14. Wouldn't be very professional for a team manager to comment on a signing on twatter before the deal was done . So yes we all got a wee fright
  15. Signing Lemon would certainly be preferable to our promotion stood next to the Little Mermaid in Copenhagen shouting " bring out your dead "
  16. Albin i'm not sure about . Yes he did have a decent meeting when Sheffield were up , but most of our lower order were minging at the time and it wouldn't have been too difficult to score 6 against us .
  17. Anyway , we're getting away from the important stuff i.e. .............the final two riders . I can't for the life of me understand why we haven't added Joey Ringwood . Hit a purple patch of form at the tail end of last season , starts off on the sort of average he can improve two or three points on . One can only assume it's Ringwood that's stalling . So with 10.66 left ,and if Ringwood doesn't return , do we go for two five pointers ( which would bring Bager into the equation and do we want to go down that road again ? ) or do we go for someone like Nikki Barrett and a seven pointer The seven pointer is also a quandry . Would have loved Dakota North back , but it seems he's chosen to not get paid in the Polish lower leagues , and with Andrew Tully seemingly taking a year out . Who is there ?
  18. Was the Berlin ones that allegedly caused the problems
  19. Honestly , early season at Armadale he popped out the gate and beat Craig Cook ( who only dropped a handful of points at home all season ) . Following race he'd be a bad last behind the opposition number 7 . His form deteriated completely as the season went on .
  20. sorry pet will you have divided loyalties in 2014 though , what with the Lions moving up
  21. Thought the whiter than white Monarchs were above all that stuff , and it was only us that practised the dark speedway arts
  22. Was ok when he gated , forget him when he didn't . After the British Final he just seem to lose it completely . Shame how that can happen to a rider
