Dunno about that. Actually winning a world title and having that on your CV, is more deserving of a wild card than your place of birth. And before anyone pipes up with âgive Hans Nielsen a wild card thenâ then you can get back in your box with your strawman argument. Doyle is still a top rider.

Thatâs an impossible situation though tbf. You canât call off a meeting when itâs bone dry with possible showers in the afternoon. You HAVE to give it every chance. If the heavens then open late on then what can you do. Iâve also been there sitting in the car park waiting to go in before it got called at 7pm, most of us probably have. Itâs just one of those things where youâll probably be wrong whatever you do.

For sure, but two wrongs donât make a right though. Think theyâve definitely taken advantage of a dodgy looking forecast to get this off. Iâve seen even worse forecasts than that the evening before a meeting at Foxhall, and theyâve not called it off the evening before. I can also remember a meeting against Peterborough at Foxhall a few years ago, where the Ipswich Twitter account uploaded a photo of the track literally under water after a monsoon mid afternoon the day of a meeting, and still got the meeting on. Theyâve also worked hard clearing all the drains during the winter and sorted the drainage system. Letâs be honest here they should have waited until the morning we all know it. But whatâs done is done.

Havenât seen anyone post that since I posted about the postponement. It was obviously going to be tougher to progress with the injury problems I think we all conceded that. I certainly still wouldnât have bet against us winning the tie tomorrow, any scenario looked possible. Youâd think that was Lynnâs best chance and it may now have gone, but having said that, it could be a while before the fixture takes place and either team could look in a worse position by then! You can just never tell in this sport.

TBH, they could probably have waited until tomorrow morning to make the call. Every time I look on the Met Office itâs been changing! Wasnât so bad an hour or two ago, but rain now pushed out til 6-7 tomorrow evening. Could have waited until early tomorrow, checked a more accurate forecast, and then made a call which would still have given everyone plenty of notice.

Absolutely huge miss youâre right. Bigger than Doyley in fact. Any replacement is likely scoring around 5 points less than Dan and thatâs being generous. Thatâs a 10 point swing in the overall score right there. Weâve currently lost the two most important riders at both ends of the team. Letâs hope theyâre back soon but more importantly, when theyâre ready and properly fit.

https://weather.metoffice.gov.uk/forecast/u12b4ht3f#?date=2025-06-05 This has it petering out around 2pm and nothing after. Doesnât actually look too bad there. As ever though, always a more reliable forecast on the actual day so letâs see what they say in the morning. I know I joked about wanting a rain off, but all jokes aside I hope it goes ahead. Hate postponements and Iâd rather go and see a meeting tomorrow.
