Agree. He definitely has the ambition to be mixing it with the worlds best in the GP’S and I know from talking to Ritchie last year that he feels he’ll make it. Having the extra pressure and responsibility of being THE main man at the top of the team instead of having the comfort blanket of Emil and Doyle doing the heavy lifting, may well help pull him along even quicker. Hopefully he thrives on the extra responsibility.

We can dine on last year for 12 months no problem. We’ll defend our title properly in ‘27 when we have the same opportunity as everyone else to build our team 😁

The jubilant scenes from the 5k+ that attended the final, coupled with the celebrations from management, riders and staff, definitely proves it was worth winning 😉

It’s a shame there’s no longer a shuttle bus operating. Used to get on at the old cattle market in town centre, take you straight to Foxhall, then come and pick you up after the meeting and take you back to town. Pretty cheap return tickets too if I remember rightly.

Think Riss is in there somewhere too. Or he WAS a few weeks back.

One of the nicest fellas you could ever wish to meet. Have met him a few times out and about Town and he’s always got time to stop and chat about the Speedway, football, or anything else! BUT, I do agree with you when it comes to presenting unfortunately. The sign of a good presenter is the skill to make the most boring meetings sound exciting. Foz doesn’t do that and always sounds like he’s just woken up.

Similar situation here. Up a quid and no Doyle or Emil.. Prices not quite the same across the board though as ours has kids under 16 free so perhaps they all just have a general agreement on the main adult prices, and leave the rest to the promoters discretion.

Just noticed the admission section of the site now says £25 for adults. Up a quid from last year. No news yet on season tickets.

The rider himself in this weeks Star says he’ll miss two or three Ipswich meetings due to the ban.

He hasn’t left the club today though, just announced he’s leaving. He’ll be helping with the transition over the next few weeks.

Why on earth would they do that until they’re actually sure they’re running? I’d imagine the advertising and promotion of Northampton Speedway would commence ONCE they’ve got the green light to run, not before! Pretty bizarre gripe from you again which seems to happen a lot lately 🙄

But as has been said, there’s two sides to every story. We don’t know to what extent he was in the plans do we? I also read the Star this week where he says his average wasn’t a low as they thought it was. Maybe they assumed he’d get the 25%, and he’d be in on the provision they managed to get a number 1? Ok you could say they should know the rules, but let’s face it they’re new to this game and the rules are hardly crystal clear. We also don’t know how long Paul Hurry has been in place. Maybe they started to build the team, and then Paul Hurry came in and decided to change things. We just don’t know.

Riders sound out clubs, clubs sound out riders. It happens all the time and you’ll get situations where riders will be in a team one minute, and out the next. It’s commonplace. Until you actually sign a contract then nothing should be taken for granted.
