Reading the press release again I’d say it’s almost certainly stadium related. “Coleman has reached an agreement that will open considerable opportunities for the Rowe Motor Oil Premiership champions”.

He does, but it still isn’t encouraging is it? He’s usually much better than this in his homeland. For whatever reason, he’s struggling badly this year.

Opinions will vary. Attendance notably increased when first Doyle, then particularly Emil arrived and stayed consistently good. Speedy may not have noticed a decrease (or much of one) this season, but I have definitely noticed a drop off from previous seasons. Not an alarming one by any means, but a drop off all the same. Again, that’s to be expected surely.

Couldn’t care less that it’s Lynn again that we’ve already seen a couple of times 🤷🏼‍♂️ Like Shano, I enjoy watching Rushen starting his journey, and I love watching Max Fricke too. If it was King’s Lynn again next week too, I’d look forward to watching them again next week too. No two meetings are the same and the racing will be different each time, even against the very same opposition. I take people’s point generally about Foxhall feeling a bit flat this year though and I agree to the point I’ve skipped a couple of meetings. The loss of the top two along with IMO, the best presenter in the business, has definitely had an effect. The whole post Louis transition has all felt a bit weird too which was to be expected. One thing Richard Coleman MUST do for 2027 though, is bring in a top class heatleader again. The fans are used to seeing a sprinkle of stardust at Foxhall and this year just isn’t quite cutting it. We know the timing and circumstance of the takeover meant it wasn’t possible this year and everyone understands that, but he won’t have that excuse next year. This coming winter is going to be very interesting from an Ipswich perspective because none of us are completely sure how ambitious the new owners are. We’ll learn a lot more about whether @PhilTheAce is correct and Coleman is a “penny pincher”, or whether he follows in Chris Louis’ footsteps in terms of ambitions for the club in terms of bringing in world class riders to try and win things. As things stand, none of us really know which way it’ll go.

Northampton really aren’t far off. They need to make ONE change in particular, two changes if they can’t get anyone worthwhile for Batchelor’s average. I really don’t think there’s an awful lot between Northampton, Lynn and Ipswich. Or Leicester come to that!

WORLD Championship chief Richard Coleman says he's "not making any promises" regarding a third double British GP in Manchester - despite another exceptional weekend's racing at the National Speedway Stadium. The packed-out crowds, as well as worldwide TV audiences, were treated to successive nights of breathtaking action as Belle Vue's circuit once again delivered the goods on the biggest stage. It concluded with what some on social media have dubbed 'the greatest Grand Prix final ever: Aces favourite Brady Kurtz snatching victory in a truly thrilling final. But when asked about a third potential year of back-to-back meetings in M12, Mayfield Sports Events founder Coleman was quick to remind everyone of their commitment to growing the series on a global scale. "Listen, the calendar is quite a complex thing," Coleman said. "I'm not making any promises because we're working very hard on overseas events. "That then dictates how many races we've got left to fill in Europe and there are lots of things that need to happen alongside all of that. Coleman stalls on third Aces double "The calendar is already starting to take shape, though, and I'm hoping that in the next eight weeks I'll have a bit of a draft calendar together, and then we can see where we are." The loss of Kevin Long on the mic has been massive from my perspective. Can’t be understated what a difference he made to the meeting experience. Huge miss.

It’s been raining again the last few hours where I am in Ipswich, only just started to break out. Definitely not dry here though Speedy! Edit: starting to now though. Seems I’m a bit behind where you are.

Kind of disagree because it completely depends on the situation and how much rain has already fallen, and how much is forecast. Some clubs DO postpone way too early on the strength of a forecast that has a few “possible showers” in 24 hours time. I’m sorry but you can’t be calling off meetings on the back of a few possible showers being forecast more than 24 hours before a meeting. If everyone started doing that then nearly all meetings would be getting postponed. I think that was his point.

Damage has already been done Phil. This isn’t anything like the Lynn call off (against Ipswich) where it was postponed on a potential forecast. Working nights, it rained from 11pm Monday evening, all through the night, and pretty much all through Tuesday on and off, with torrential downpours, hail, and Thunder and lightning. It’s rained again this afternoon, and more rain expected tomorrow. The sun has gone in to hiding also as well as the heat so that doesn’t help. Was really looking forward to this weekend, but no Bewley has taken the shine off it for me and probably lots of others. Been the most entertaining rider around this year and will be hugely missed.

You mean the bloke that went against the cartel and has been ostracised for it by looking after his riders by making sure they were properly insured? Yeah him.

IF the meeting goes ahead, let’s just hope that Bangs comes back in refreshed after his enforced break, with a good attitude and a determination to do well and score some points. We all want him (well Ipswich fans anyway) to do well and be a success. Let’s hope he starts delivering so we don’t have to even look at potential replacements.

Andrew Chisholm is in charge of the day to day running of the club, not Coleman who has his hands full elsewhere. Chisholm and Hurry put the team together, and decide on team matters, that was confirmed before the season started. I’m not quite getting this overreaction either. It’s all explained in yesterday’s article. They planned to use Kennett while the uncertainty around Bangs continued. They were less than impressed when a scheduled practice session after Thursdays meeting didn’t materialise when Kennett didn’t bother turning up so quite rightly binned the idea. They then booked Mulford as a guest for Thursdays meeting under the impression that Bangs would still be unavailable. That changed literally yesterday when Bangs himself is quoted as saying he only received the paperwork from Doctors to resume racing yesterday I have been working really, really hard to get some papers from the doctors to allow me to get started as soon as possible. I got that today, and now I am ready.” What have they actually done wrong here? I agree it’s an unusual set of circumstances, but circumstance it is. People are being overly critical and typical of this forum, overreacting to trivial matters.
