  1. I was a bit confused as well because they’re still showing the same 18 premiership meetings that they did last year. I re-read the statement again because I thought I missed a bit where they all but confirmed a separate TV deal elsewhere!
  2. As in Scott working for BSN? Don’t think that’s going to happen.
  3. We really don’t know how they work yet. They’ve come in and cut the money at GP level (understandably) so maybe their plan is to come in at Ipswich and run things cheaply? All the genuine number one’s were already snapped up but none of us know yet if they’d have stumped up the cash to get one of the top liners in even if they were still available. We’ll only know that and what their ambitions are, from next season onwards because they’ll get a free pass this time due to coming in so late. We know with Louis that he’s Ipswich through and through and he pushed things to the maximum to get the best team he could. We already had Doyle and nobody would have batted an eyelid if he’d just went with him and then built solidly downwards but he then went and added Emil as well. He could have saved himself a lot of money by just going with Doyle, and then packed in middle and lower order riders below him but he didn’t. It remains to be seen whether the new people have those same ambitions for Ipswich as Chris Louis did.
  4. Don’t worry Iain they have a cunning plan and are just lulling everyone in to a false sense of security! The cavalry will arrive in the Summer 🤪
  5. It’s Brennan, Lawson, Musielak, Nicholls, King, Edwards and one other. Those are “signed” but we don’t know whether they were signed on the provision that Thorssell was also signing and if that’s now not happening, whether that will cause them to have a rethink. My guess is probably not but we’ll see.
  6. Would be lucky to even make it to the foot of the table.
  7. No idea. All we know is the BSPL issued a post AGM statement confirming Ipswich’ participation in the 2026 season.
  8. If Thorssell isn’t happening, there’s 4.60 left for rider seven. Your suggestion, or Jenkins, seem to be the only options. I was told yesterday the other six in your team was done. And the source is as good as it gets. MAYBE, they’ll have a rethink if the planned seventh rider is now off the table.
  9. To be fair, Ipswich committed to racing this year at the AGM in early January and were confirmed starters. There’s nothing that’s been said that that commitment was dependent on a sale of the club being completed.
  10. He was, but that was before his injury that saw him spend most of last year out injured. In all of the guest appearances he made at Foxhall for the Injured Doyle two seasons ago, he didn’t hit a single double figure score. Pretty sure I saw that stat somewhere.
  11. Mind numbingly boring now though isn’t it 😴
  12. The problem there Col, is it’s 2026, not 2023. You’ve picked an anomaly of a season there which is the exception rather than the rule. Put up the season stats for the seasons prior, and after 2023 for a fairer evaluation of his skills in a heatleader position.
  13. Can’t disagree with any of that. If they had the six I mentioned on the provision that Thorssell would be the seventh, then they might have to rip up a couple of deals and have a rethink. The problem is, if there was a lack of quality options to begin with, then it’s not likely to be any different now. With the six plus Jenkins, the season is a write off before it’s even started. That’s not being negative, just a reality. What on earth are Northampton going to go with if they get the Green light? A top two of Klindt and Iversen?
  14. “Week and a half” is the likely timescale for a sale confirmation. So we’re looking at middle of next week, not this week.
  15. A lot of 2,1’ in there but it’ll suffer from a lack of heat winners and will get outgunned especially on the road where you can see a good few hidings coming. Hopefully whoever told Noaksey Thorssell was unlikely, is the same source that told him Adams might be the new Team manager 🤪 He was the make or break signing for this team IMO and would have made it more palatable. If the last place is filled by Jenkins or similar (with the greatest respect to him) then it’s a stinker of a team let’s be honest. The level of support will be interesting. The fans are used to seeing a sprinkle of stardust at Foxhall but are now going to see the fella that was third in the averages, suddenly jump two places to be the out and out number 1. There is some decent solid riders in there don’t get me wrong, but the problem is they’re all riders that should be slotting in at 3 and 4, not heatleader positions where they’ve proven to struggle in the past. Musielak particularly. Feel a bit for the new owners. They’ve come in late in the day and have been dealt a pretty poor hand. Only thing I’d say is let’s wait and see if they’re proactive because options will develop later in the season.
  16. Wasn’t mentioned but you’d hope so. Thorssell on a cheap average is the only thing that saves this team really.
  17. He’s been on a pushbike, but not a Speedway bike I don’t think although I could be wrong.
  18. Brennan, King, Lawson, Musielak, Nicholls, Edwards is definitely six of the seven.
  19. He said the new owners are nearing completion of the team, it didn’t sound like he had anything to do with it so it’s probably not his place to be naming them. Whether he’s technically still owner or not, he’s talking like the new owners are already in place and they’re doing all the work to get the club ready to race in “early April”. We have no idea how these people like to work. They’re clearly not going to be making any announcement on either the club, or rider signings, until the paperwork is officially completed. Which of course is their prerogative.
  20. We’re just going to have to wait and see. Proof of the pudding and all that. They, just like anyone else, deserve to be given a chance. I do find these posts from this particular poster rather suspicious though. Not just the odd comment here and there, it’s literally essays every time criticising them which is a bit weird.
  21. Definitely not. I’d lump Ipswich in with that too. A four team league isn’t feasible, so Ipswich were even more important than Northampton. They simply needed them to run and had no choice but to wait.
  22. With BSN saying their pricing structure for their streaming packages will be released by the end of the Month, then it has to be this coming week that we’ll finally know whether Northampton are in or out. BSN must surely have been given the nod on when to expect the confirmation of league structures for them to reveal that their price will be confirmed by the end of February. Morris in this weeks star also said they’ve now got to the point where decisions HAVE to be made. A Sale confirmation at Ipswich is also expected this coming week (stop laughing at the back) so we’re approaching the end game all round. Probably….
  23. Not sure I believe that one either to be honest. We’ll see.
  24. Always helps! That’s a good base in which to start.
