  1. Only two I’d be bringing back from this lot are King and Musielak. Need to keep Hurry away from the team building in 2027 also. Keep him on by all means, just let him manage the team he’s given.
  2. Fricke will go wherever he’s paid the most money.
  3. It was literally cobbled together a few weeks before the season started as everyone including “Rob” knows 🙄 It’s been a crap league this year with two of only six clubs being out of it before a wheel was turned in anger and it’s been done to death. Belle Vue realistically only had ONE challenger this year who then lost their top rider and couldn’t replace him. Hopefully Sheffield will get Fricke in for the play offs so a Belle Vue-Sheffield final is at least mildly interesting.
  4. And he breaks it down in to more detail how he/they got those figures. Worth a read.
  5. This. If people think riders will go through the motions because the result is immaterial to their CLUB then they live in cloud cuckoo land.
  6. This. There was a vacancy at Belle Vue which meant he slipped in seamlessly as a like for like. To bring an eight pointer in to Ipswich, that would have involved two changes minimum. Coleman isn’t going to be an owner that regularly chops and changes and puts riders out of a job and fans are going to have to accept the way he works there. As I’ve said before, if the club is struggling and changes aren’t made, that could end up being annoying for some supporters. Bangs was an extreme case as he was struggling not just on track, but off it. They gave him as much support as possible but in the end were forced to do something not just for the clubs benefit, but the rider. They didn’t feel great about doing that either I can tell you that. Maybe their stance will change a little in the future. At the end of the day you have to listen to your supporters as they’re the ones who pay at the gate and keep the club going so if the noise gets loud enough, action will inevitably have to happen. Plus, Ipswich just can’t compete with the money Belle Vue throw at riders so it was a non starter anyway 😉
  7. Seems to be some really good potential there at Northampton. Considering how poor the team have been due to circumstances out of their control, the crowd levels by all accounts have held up well so thats promising going forward. Interesting to see what team they can put together with proper planning just like us at Ipswich. League should be much more competitive next year.
  8. I’m assuming the riders still need to earn and they get paid per point? Ok maybe some of the top boys are on some sort of guarantee, but I wouldn’t have thought the likes of kemp would be.
  9. I thought they were talking about Sedgmen not Kemp?
  10. Excellent. It’s been flat this year losing not just one, but both hugely popular heatleaders and the crowd level has taken a hit. You knew what I was getting at. But carry on being a dickhead 🙄
  11. I’m pleased for the management at Ipswich that they’ll have the first leg at home because that will ensure a much better crowd than a second leg with very little hope of progression after a probable thumping at the NSS. That isn’t be defeatist, just realistic. It’s been a trying first season for them due to the lateness of the takeover so a chance to swell the coffers a little is welcome.
  12. Not many do that to Douglas around there! Especially this year.
  13. Part of me enjoys the off season almost as much as the season itself! AGM, League set ups, rules and regs, team building. Fingers crossed the hoped eight team top league comes to fruition, or seven at the very least.
  14. I now fully understand some of the criticism from some Leicester supporters about Drew Kemp. You can excuse riders having an absolute stinker of a meeting (every rider has them) if they’re seen as still making an effort, but twice last night he just gave up whilst at the back. That would do my head in if he was in my team. His attitude is poor.
  15. He got away with that Speedy! It was an error whichever way you slice it 😁 needs to be more on the ball than that in the future otherwise it WILL inevitably bite us on the @rse. Yeah Edwards ran a last in his fourth ride, but all his momentum had gone. A long time to sit in the pits twiddling your thumbs between heat eight and fourteen. Anyway….. 😛
  16. I agree but he doesn’t come without risks though. He’s been prone in the past to have a good season and become an 8+ pointer, then follow it up with a stinker and go back to six and a half.
  17. Yes. Should be Belle Vue Ipswich, Leicester-Sheffield semi finals, unless Northampton shock Sheffield at owlerton in the last meeting in which case it will be Belle Vue-Sheffield, Leicester-Ipswich but those are the four confirmed play off teams.
  18. Tobi different gravy again tonight. What a rider. Well done boys.
  19. Hurry got away with one there. Going in to heat 12 Pedersen had two points from three rides, Edwards was unbeaten on paid nine and the switch wasn’t made. As it happens, Pedersen rode well to secure a vital second which saved the managers bacon but that was an error that shouldn’t have happened.
  20. That’s a bit over dramatic. There was a very entertaining meeting there only last week against Sheffield. It doesn’t throw up consistently good racing like the NSS of course it doesn’t, but I’d love to see something a bit different and see how the GP boys handle the circuit. Rather than have all tracks of a similar size and style, there should be more variation of styles IMO to find the ultimate rider at the end of the year.
  21. I was under the impression Coleman was looking more to 2028 than next year for Ipswich. There’s a bit to do with track and pit area to get it GP ready. He wants to pony up rent upfront in one lump sum to have more access to Foxhall to get things done that he wants. Last I heard he hadn’t got the green light on that but things could have changed last few weeks. We’ll see.
