  1. Are you serious - the EL is not a level playing field and some teams have built in advantages over others !!!!! It never ever has been a level playing field that's why the sport lurches from one disaster to another and is in the mess it's in, massive self interest MC and BSPA, spineless SCB and a complete joke of a rulebook which enables the 8th best rider currently in the world to get his average reduced by nearly a point so he can sign for Poole to enable them to win the EL title yet again.
  2. It will be interesting to see if anything changes within the SCB going forward but unfortunately the BSPA just continue to make one unbelievable decision after another. Who on earth made the decision to assess one of the current best riders in the world from 7.94 to 7.00, when their own rules set a precedent of 8.00. Good television it will undoubtably be with sky rubbing it's hands but it's quite amazing that the sport continues to make itself look completely incompetent yet again and adds fuel to the fire of its many critics.
  3. Certainly strange that Rye didn't put Branford in heat 14 or even give him extra rides bearing in mind how quick he looked against some of his team mates.
  4. Are you serious, paid, I used to get more an hour than they get for a match, the pay is ridiculous. A referee friend of mine says he just about covers his petrol money with his fee and expenses, never mind he can spend a whole day travelling to and from a match.
  5. Until we know exactly what the format, points limit etc is no one can do anything.
  6. And the reason he is no longer at Peterborough is because he wasn't banging in big scores for us, especially away from home.
  7. Yes but Lakeside are pretty poor, Wolves are a different animal completely.
  8. I can see Poole missing out this year, bad time to collect injuries and both Wolves and Belle Vue now look better
  9. No problem with him going to his brothers wedding but plain and simple the rules don't allow a facility, this is ridiculous. 16.5 FACILITIES 16.5.1 A Team may utilise a "Facility" to cover the absence of a Rider(s) who: A is on FIM World Speedway Championship duty. B is engaged elsewhere at a BSPA shared or purchased Meeting. C is recalled by his own FMN in accordance with the FIM ISLB Regulations. D has been injured whilst speedway racing, Within 48 hours of the injury occurring, if no evidence is available, a Medical Certificate must be sent to the SCB; failure to do so will result in the mandatory suspension of the rider’s SCB Registration for the next home fixture. NB. The BSPA MC cannot overrule the suspension. E is sick or carrying a non-speedway injury for which a Medical Certificate must be supplied to the SCB within 48 hours of the sickness / injury occurring in which case the Rider may only return within 7 days (including his Team’s next home Meeting) with the express permission of the MC. However failure to provide a Certificate will nevertheless result in the mandatory suspension of the rider’s SCB Registration for the next home fixture. NB. The BSPA MC cannot overrule the suspension. F has been suspended by the FIM, ACU, SCB or rider’s FMN. G is in dispute with his Club, provided that the circumstances have been accepted by the MC, who will determine the Facility and period of the rider’s inactivity. H is on FIM Longtrack Championship duty (for the day of the Meeting only; no facility is permitted for practice day). I being a PL rider whose own FMN does not have a current Agreement with the BSPA and is competing in another National League or Open Meeting. This will result in the rider’s SCB Registration being suspended for 1 (one) season and the Team will be automatically granted a facility for a maximum period of 28 days, after which they must re-declare. J is awaiting medical clearance from the riders FMN. K is absent for any other reason (applicable to the NL only)
  10. It's not an approved reason for missing a meeting so I assume he is injured although the clubs website release doesn't cover his absence, who does the Scunthorpe press releases.
  11. Done Several GP,s abroad and have always done it independently at about half the cost of the tours, funnily enough a lot if the time they use the same flights. Prague was nice and so was Stockholm but generally enjoyed them all but the costs do seem to rise every year.
  12. As others have said the Lakeside team this year is built solely around riders who are very good at Lakeside.
