Peterborough V Ipswich Plc Sunday 22nd May
bigcatdiary replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well for a nothing match that wasn't half bad entertainment, Witches were good early doors but Panthers clawed it all back with the lead changing hands several times towards the end. Glad to see King wasn't hurt after his heat 15 spill and was told machinery problems were Ostergaards and Grondals problem. Cook rides next week in the PL fixture, that's why it's an 8.00pm start, to allow him King and Sargeant time to get from Belle Vue,s midday match against Coventry to Peterborough. -

Well I suppose it's what you are used to. As long as you are happy with it, once or twice a season is more than enough for me. -

I have been going to Rye since it opened and didn't notice it was any better this year than in previous years. Dusty, super slick and one line right next to the fence. -

That's not something you see often in the same sentence, Rye House and Proper Speedway. -

To be fair Perry,s been one of our stars this year and full credit to him. He has been one of the best no 7's in the PL so far -

No I meant if a team re declares and drops its original no 7 he can only be replaced by another 3.00 irrespective of his current GSA. Whilst Perry is out and in the 1-5 it's RR with all riders below and one above his GSA taking his rides. -

I was informed no 7,s will move up into the teams top five if their average demands it but replacing an original no 7 can only be done with another 3.00 NL rider irrespective of his latest GSA. -

No, Perry is above Grondal in the GSA so it's Jakobsen/Hansen, Grondal, Lambert & Stokes although Lambert could indeed take 2 RR rides. Hansen assumes the average of the rider he replaces. -
After a slow start it really came alive, excellent entertainment and a Woffy win as well. Some very good racing tonight and what appeared to be a very good crowd.

If the changes go through and going forward just the one against Berwick in July, although that's just Friday's affecting Cook. -

They will be disappointed if he has, riding at Glasgow in a British SF meeting. -

Your fortunate in owning your own stadium that's rare in speedway., we unfortunately can only have dates that are free from events which is why we use different race days, we don't have enough Friday's or Sunday's available generally to do the whole season. Most of the Rye complaints are about your team, different race nights I can live with if we have a competitive team. -

What you mean like Rye House this year, Saturday's, Sunday's and Monday's Leagues need regular race nights not clubs, it would solve a lot of the D/U and Guest issues overnight. -

Unfortunately I don't think many riders full stop are motivated by anything other than money. -

I rather think Sunday afternoons have been generally better attended so far than Friday evenings, Sunday's are certainly more family friendly and generally offer the travelling fans time to get home at a reasonable hour. Now the weather has improved attendances should improve and no problem with double uppers either, the only practical negative is if it's really hot it's difficult to keep the track in good condition and properly damp but our track team did a great job last week. -

How about making it simple 3 points for a win 1 point for a draw 0 points if you lose Why does British Speedway have to be so complicated
